  1. He is already playing for one of he biggest teams
  2. The lads were knackered from the off physically and mentally, why on earth didn't we use our subs. Beats me. Hard to understand Eckert last night, he must have had something in mind unless he was knackered as well. Bragg could have been our saviour and Matsuki?
  3. Ah! OK So, Bragg & Charles in midfield, which is fair enough as Charles is better as an AMF, knows where the goal is and is less error prone in that position ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- saintant: Nah, gotta be Bragg and Jander for me. Reply: Ordinarily I would agree with you, Jander is by far the better player but sutrely he must be knackered after his heroics on Saturday? Charles will be lot fresher
  4. More likely Downes & Charles in midfield. No reason to leave out Wood either. Keep JS on rehab until the play offs
  5. The whole team ran themseves ragged on Saturday and Bragg was rested for mosT of the second half. He should be OK. Downes will start oevr Bragg anyway so it's not an issue
  6. We've been there, done that, bought the T-shirt and not that long ago. Oh! and if you were being ironic, what delicious irony!
  7. We still need at least a couple of players with good PL experience. We must keep Peretz, not sure about Larin or Stewart. Fellows won't cut it in the PL and James Bree will struggle. Bragg, Jander and Welington are real prospects.
  8. Even Shearer is now proud to call himself a Saint and reflect upon his time at the Academy
  9. If Nathan Jones could beat them then surely it'll be straightforward for Tonda Eckert?
  10. Good assessment of Tuesday's performance
  11. Quite a high proportion of our fanbase on matchdays is elderly, not always in the best of health and probably not given to singing and chanting and certainly won't be using up their energy to stand up for loving the Saints. It's not that they don't care enough, of course they do but there are good and obvious reasons why young people fight wars, have tribal instincts and shout and sing on the terraces while older people do not. I managed to stand and sit a few times when we helped oust Lowe but that has been about it for me over the last 25 years!
  12. Matsuki over Fellows every time. He has an eye for a goal every time he's on the ball.
  13. Different times, different players, different managers…. what has the past got to do with it?
  14. Willo, old lad pleas try and enjoy what is happening with Saints these days. You are allowed a little optimism. Look, we don't do scrappy wins anymore, what we do do is dominant, comprehensive and demoralising annihilation of the opposition. 4-0 and upwards if the weather holds and the pitch is watered correctly.
  15. Now we win in 3rd gear. This is not good for my heart. Luckily Saints did not switch off at HT
  16. Not all of us. There is nothing flukish or lucky about our current performances.
  17. The team pretty much picks itself but I'd still start Larin over Stewart
  18. As a rule we don't do scrappy. Momentum is key; so far we have escaped arrogance. We are a very good team, we may ship the odd goal now and again but have the capacity to score every time we have the ball. THB, Matsuki and Azaz can pick out killer passes through the lines as we have seen many times in recent matches. No other club at this level can match that? Trust in them and the process. 0-3 withour breaking sweat.
  19. None of that will be of any interest if we win our four remaning games
  20. A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do! Good to see you got your priorities right
  21. Second gear performance tonight but still far too good for the opposition. Up, up, up the Football league we go! We are a seriously good team.
  22. Our steamroller will fill all those holes in Blackburn, Lancashire. 4-0* to Saints COYR *[there were 4000 holes to be exact, hence 4-000]
  23. I thought he was a bath attendant.
  24. Limp along Leslie Tomson, inside right or centre forward for Darbury Rangers, do you remember him as well? The lad was a wizard of the dribble and fittingly strutted his stuff in The Wizard comic. He was also kept sheep on his farm in his spare time. This was before the £5 a week minimum wage came in and ruined football
  25. Jander has had a lot of very good games for us but very few poor ones. He is totally underrated by many on here. He's a class player in a classless league. He'll shine in the PL either with us or somebody else. No question a future German full international.
