  1. Perhaps he did, it's not that much of a journey back to Brum.
  2. VectisSaint

    Finn Azaz

Iain Dowie and Stuart Armstrong were well qualified Saints. Steve Heighway of Liverpool was successful.
  3. It was Charles not Archer
  4. Do the players have "strengths"?
  5. He looks somewhat better than Lumley, not that that is difficult.
  6. Because it's not true. We replace Ramsdale with Baz, we replaced Lumley with Long. Don't get me wrong Baz is a huge drop from Ramsdale, but this guy appears to be a bit of a step up from Lumley (not difficult).
  7. The comments on here are fecking ridiculous. Clearly an improvement on Lumley, actually has a lot of experience in the EFL. For a 3rd choice he is fine, in fact could argue he has a better chance than McCarthy. Baz is #1, AM is experienced backup, Ramsdale might be back next season (probably not). Apparently he's shit based on comments from Norwich fans on their board (just like what our 'fans' suggest about every single player). Taking up a loan space is clearly not an issue, we are only going to get 1 or 2 loans in at most, we already have a bloated squad. He also scores as many goals as anymore our strikers. Welcome George, hope we never actually see you in a Saints team, but I'm sure if we do you won't be much worse than what we have.
  8. The only thing I will say is that Dibling is badly advised if he is going to Everton. Even Moyes has said Everton have struggled to sign players because they are not in Europe. There is little prospect of them getting into Europe in the foreseeable future. Bad move for him. Otherwise, I wish him well.
  9. You don't think Rasmus has anything to with signing Mads Roerslev Rasmussen. 😉
  10. Presumably will take the #2 shirt that was left vacant.
  11. So why don't Goztepe buy him and then loan him to us? Seems to work the other way.
  12. Rangers get one back
  13. 37 actually. He's 47 years old now, way past his best (whatever that was).
  14. Well I hope Quashie never plays for us again.
  15. Quarshie early on kept hitting the ball to Welington, often with poor passes, including the one that led to their goal. It was his hits up the line that caused our problems. Same to an extent with THB. But I agree the short recycling needs to be cut out.
  16. We were decent, apart from comedy defending by THB and Quarshie, Downes and Welington also looking dodgy.
  17. I get the distinct impression Still does not really rate press conferences. Sees them for what they are, a total waste of time and energy.
  18. Ok, missed that. Yes Ron arrived for 66/67.
  19. and yet no mention of the greatest CF in the world. Big Ron trumps all of them combined.
  20. Well given the change was in 1891, I imagine even you aren't that old 😉 By the way it was always colloquially called Hants which predates Southampton or Hampshire. Hants is not short for Hampshire but "Hantescire" as it was called in the Domesday Book.
  21. Strictly speaking the County was called Southampton until the Local Government Act of 1891, when it was given the name Hampshire, and the Isle of Wight was made a separate County. Rumours persist that due to some oversights the name was not fully changed until 1959. Of course in 1974 Bournemouth and Christchurch were ransferred to Dorset (hence why Bournemouth are/were represented in the Hampshire Cup). Official documents (such as for example birth, marriage and death certificates prior to 1891 (and often later) nearly always refer to the County of Southampton (sometimes, rarely as Southamptonshire).
  22. The #2 is vacant in the squad list.
  23. Having a wel defined structure and a style of play didn't do us much good in the (recent) past. Maybe some more individualism and creativity is what we need.
  24. Headlines you never thought you would see
  25. 5-5, Stephens 5 own goals
