Trollope is going to Wolves, but seems to still be at Saints at the moment (difficult to tell for sure). All the other coaches are gone, except Lallana, so it really isn't clear who is doing what in training. If they are going to give it to Ronda then surely they need some patching staff, even if it's to replace the u21 staff who may have stepped up.

Ralph is the only one on there that would even come close to our top 10 managers of all time. Sad really when you put that list up against Lawrie, Ted, Chris N, WGS, Balley, Ronald, Poch, Hoddle (with Gorman), Dave Jones, bloody hell I think I'd put old Twitchy above any others on that list.

I said the other day we have no coaches, just Tonda and Lallana (does he count?). Can only assume the u21 coaching team has stepped up.

If it was to be Eckert (and I hope its not) where would we stand now with coaching staff? Apart from Lallana who is supposedly now a coach, and who is rumoured to be taking on the u21s, we don't have any. Seems to me its an indication that it won't be Eckert.

It was actually what we did when we played Liverpool in the Cup, and it worked well. I think to an extent that's why it stuck, unfortunately.

Made one save that any self respecting goalie should make. How he got away with some of the other stuff. Even gave away a corner for not releasing the ball when we finally won possession, to just invite the pressure back on. Total shit show, thank goodness some of our defenders put their bodies on the line to keep that lead. Hardwood Bellend was almost as bad. Fortunately the Sky commentator told us all it was Stephens, obviously number dyslexic.

Not to mention the howler when he took too long to get rid of the ball.

Most of the players didn't play for the last 4 or 5 managers, not many even played for the last one. So this is nonsense.

Wouldn't have Danny Rohl as assistant, his best times with us were when Danny was backup. Also bringing back the architect of 2 9-0s seems a bit foolhardy. Maybe if we're looking back with rose tinted specs Lawrie could rolled out.

I know it's semantics, but when was it ever 5 at the back against Brizzle. It was 3 at the back with two outside pushing forward. I don't recall Frazer ever defending (except when he kept them onside for their 2nd) and Welington didn't do much in the way of defending. The big problem I have with what Still says about getting it forward being the key, not the formation, is that is exactly what our defenders (whether its 3, 4 or 5) don't do. They pass it around at the back and always look to play sideways or back without trying to get it forward, just like in Martin's time. The only difference I see is that McCarthy does sometimes launch it. THB is the worst at playing it around at the back, except occassionally he seems to remember to try to get it forward and alunches a diagonal to no one. I know its heresy on here but I think Jack does a better job of getting it forward than THB.
