I'm really not too sure why people are that bothered TBH. If you go to every game or if you only attend a handful your still a Saints fan and that is the key here.

Was a steward at the time so used to go in the supporters club before the one o'clock signing on time for a couple of beers. One Saturday in walks Ruddock, straight up to the bar and orders a Guiness, downs that and orders up another followed not long after by a 3rd. So there's me from about 1 thru to 2:50 saying nah Ruddock ain't starting blah blah blah only for him to run out in the starting 11!! Would be a bit different knowadays I suppose. Still makes me smile tho'.
