It really is astonishing in this day and age how we as a club are preparing these lads to not only be technically and physically good enough but to be mentally ready as well It will be self fulfilling as well as the best 14-15 year old's will want to come here as they know they will get a chance It also goes to show British football in general not be afraid of giving young players a chance instead of trying to buy foreign lads who they think are ready made (Spurs, Sunderland etc), if as a country we start following this approach we might stand a much better chance of doing better internationally whereas right now we're dog****

Be interesting to see if we do what Poch has said we'll do and continue to blood academy players as opposed to getting experienced players in For me if we could get players like Astori, Banega or Hunt i think you have to try but im not sure that finishing mid table yet bringing through JWP, Reed, Chambers, Isgrove etc isnt really good progress for the club and living up to the 'project'?

Davis was absolutely superb today, his energy is immense. Were a better side with him in it and actually he and Cork did as good a role as VW/MS have been I'd like to see Osvaldo start now with SRL off the bench, the more he is playing the better and sharper he looks and the goals will come. I think some of the lack of incision us due to SRL starting to look a little laboured this season - he's always been the fulcrum of our attacking effort and when he's not on it we don't look as fluid .. Imagine if we had players like Suarez or Ageuro who practically carry those teams on their own
