Without jumping on a bandwagon I think England have messed up dropping Compton and moving Root up. Today was the perfect example of how in test cricket you see off the new ball and then bed in. Root >>Bairstow and would have been a good bet to get runs at 6. With Cook out of form at just the wrong time and Bairstow having glaring technical deficiencies you need a Compton type up top But Flower and team England won't change it, too stubborn

I'm in, what's the code?
-
Fee might be accepted but whether a player wants to come here and personal terms can be agreed are other cases These things are never easy
-
Was best player I saw at SMS last year but can't believe Chelsea will sell him , he is Mourinhos new Drogba
-
Please let this be true, would instantly be our best player. A mile better than Ramirez
-
Edgbaston all over again!
-
I love Cork as much as everyone else but Wanyama is a better player and will start ahead of him if we play the sane formation as last year Where he will add more solidity is those games like Stoke away where we have a lead but get deeper and deeper and overrun in the last 30 mins. I can also see Cork coming on in those situations to give a midfield 3

Definitely, at the very least enquiring. Would walk into our back 4
-
Targett not in that 25?
-
I hope Banega isn't off, he's a tremendous player, will upgrade us hugely - he's that good
-
Agreed
-
Fixed it for you /-)

Have to say the tennis thee days is a mile better than that old serve volley crap
-
He's in Austria isn't he?
-
Two different players in our system i'd have thought. Wanyama would play next to Morgan with Banega the central AM
-
It does make sense, if Cardiff have pulled out and no-one else has come in his agents have nothing. NC for the win. Expect this to be done quickly now seeing as he's meant to play for Celtic at Cluj tomorrow and im guessing he hasn't travelled
-
So basically we've made bids for Damiao, Banega and Wanyama. Celtic have accepted so it's up to the player. The other two my guess the clubs/agents are sitting on them, leaking numbers to the press to drive up the price

This isnt happening. Player wont want to come
-
To be fair to Cortese he can only do so much, it's up to a player and his agent if they want to come and that's still a hard sell given were a bottom tier PL side I do wonder if/why we're not in for lower tier players as well though, or if all our eggs are in the 'big signing' bracket. Hopefully we're doing both and building a better squad
-
So this one in, one out this week then, is it still likely :-)
-
Yes please Salah especially
-
Indeed, everyone saying we need to buy players to improve the team, can't see this kid would even get in the first team
-
I know what you mean but we don't have the money to spend the millions that would entail. Just buying 3 or 4 better than what we have will cost £30-40m as we've seen with the 12m for Wanyama, 17m for Osvaldo, 20m for Damiao etc. So some of these funds could be spent upgrading the second tier players like Fox who have to play because Shaw is 17-18 and wont last a season. No point having Damiao up front when Fox is costing you goals at the back because he's nowhere near good enough
