A shade of odds against (11/10) after the Brighton debacle. The fact that we are rated (ever so slightly) more likely to stay up than go down must genuinely blow the minds of a fair few on here, I'd say. Personally, I am considerably more downbeat after yesterday than at any point thus far - I was entirely open to the idea that NJ had something about him, the players would buy into it and that a couple of decent January signings would see us absolutely fine. Yesterday, in one fell swoop, made all three of those things seem a whole lot less likely.

An update ahead of the return to action on Boxing Day..... Saints Forum view - Almost certain to be relegated, probably finishing bottom. Betting market view - Considerably more likely to stay up than go down (15/8 currently), joint 4th most likely to be relegated with Everton and rated considerably less likely than Bournemouth, Forest and Wolves.
-
And now 1.02 - stick a fork in it, it's done.
-
Just matched at 1.12 on Betfair to be next Saints manager - if he IS a smokescreen it is one of truly epic proportions.
-
Nathan Jones seems like a gamble and one I have no idea whether it will work out. For those, and there seem to be many, who know that we are now "100 % down" you can still get (at least) 2/1 against that happening on Betfair.

Salisu and ABK is our no1 partnership imo. -
Saints 1-4 Newcastle - Match Thread

With Lavia and maybe even ABK back I think we'll be very competitive. That seems to put me in a minority as a thumping Newcastle win seems inevitable according to most on here. I would point out to those people that a Newcastle win is currently around Evens on Betfair but history tells me that gets three responses - A) If Newcastle do win we hear about their bets AFTERWARDS....B) "Couldn't bet against my own team" - despite the fact that wouldn't have any bearing on the result of course....C) It is just ignored as these people don't REALLY think a Newcastle win is inevitable they just like to blow a lot of froth and hot air. -
Out to 3/1 after the win at Bournemouth.
-
Make that 5/2 after defeat to Everton.
-
Back in to 3/1 after a genuinely horrific performance at Villa.
-
No KWP in the training pictures klaxon.....
-
Still 4/1 after the loss at Wolves.
-
Unsurprisingly the performance and result against Chelsea has seen a big jump - all the way out to 4/1 with the likes of Everton, Wolves and Leicester currently shorter in the market.
-
9/4 after the Utd defeat.
-
I agree with that in part but surely a bigger factor in your chance of being relegated is the likelihood of you getting to 38 points (or whatever ends up being needed) rather than who might finish below you? Put another way, if we get 42 points this year but, by some miracle, the promoted teams all get 43 I am absolutely certain we will still not be relegated.
-
Having come in again to around 7/4 in the days leading up to the Leicester game we are now just north of 2/1 following our win there. Seems very short to me! I would say most Saints fans are more hopeful now than they were at the start of the season and yet we are considerably shorter to go down than we were then.....
-
Down to 2/1 after the draw with Leeds - bedwetters were preparing to take out second mortgages to get more on after an hour, whereas the happy clappers having seen a glimpse of the future in the last 20 minutes are after clarification that 2/1 is not the price for European qualification.
-
Straight into 5/2 after a dismal opening day. The bedwetters will feel it should have been cut to a shorter price still (despite the result being basically what they predicted) whilst the happy clappers will see it as an over-reaction, although they too are now wondering what might become of Ralph if next weekend goes badly.....
-
Mara not even on the bench?
-
Yes, it's that time again folks......3/1 is the opening price this year, a figure that those convinced we are entering a very different era under our new owners will find laughable - as will those that see a team in freefall at the end of last year that has been patched up by some unproven kids. The happy clappers have had the last laugh historically on this thread - is this the year the bedwetters fight back? The next 38 games will tell us......
-
Many thanks!
-
Could someone who knows about these things tell me if these are likely to go to General Sale or will I need to explore other avenues? Thanks in advance...

Last matched at 100 on Betfair - I think we can safely put a fork in this year's thread. See you all next year....😉
-
33/1 after the Brentford win - this year's thread now on life support.....
-
A double update......Firstly, the 4 points from the last two games saw us all the way out to 16/1 and then yesterday's news shunted us out still further to 20/1.
