That is what makes a mockery of our right back recruitment though - we signed 2 full backs yet prefer to play a centre half out of position. Why sign Martina...oh yeah he was cheap but surely even in L1 there are better options. Waste of wages signing Martina then not playing him. So we sold Shaw £30m, Chambers 16m, Lallana 24m, Lovren 20m so us spending 4m over the top in your opinion is a drop in the ocean for a player who is a great squad player who offers options.
