Given Villa's current status, this is what makes it an intriguing possibility. They could well think NA is worth the gamble, given that he now has a little PL experience and is a proven man-manager.

As an older fan, it has just occurred to me that for some, or many people on here, NA has given them far and away the best Saints period of their lives! Even as an older fan he has been fantastic for our entertainment and pride!

I've waited a couple of hours after hearing about this before I posted. had to let all the frustration, shock, anger, disappointment etc die down first. I am still massively upset......However, if the future proves this to be a good business decision (It will never be a good moral one IMO) Then I will never bother to ever get upset at a Cortese decision again. If this somehow turns out to be a great move, then Cortese will be a god. Not a kind and benevolent one, more like the Old Testement Yahweh. A proper bastard, but still a god none the less. I hope Cortese proves to be right, but whatever happens I hope this all works out for NA and he gets a better job out of this. I would love to see him come back to St. Mary's with another team and get the ovation he deserves from the fans, so at least the fans get to be heard in this.
