  1. The policing was terrible, saw them kick off with a group of lads near where I was sat. Really OTT and heavy handed.
  2. One lucky win since Reading, we really are crap. I still don't understand how things have changed so much since the first 10 games of the season, we actually looked decent for a while.
  3. Probably the worst away support i've seen from us, shocking stuff. I think most people who bother with away games are resigned to relegation now.
  4. I would have kept Licka and not signed Schneiderlin, use the money saved to pay Pearson and Saga's wages. I wouldn't have kept Ostlund, he was alright but I think James is a decent enough right back, one of our most under rated players. Gets a lot of stick just because he's apparently playing out of position but he's been improving all season and always tries.
  5. horrible.
  6. I don't believe you.
  7. Got to be worth trying Drew at left back with Skacel on the wing, Surman will be cutting inside and trying to get involved with the play if he's on the left where as Skacel should get some chalk on his boots and get up the byline. Surman does quite well getting forward from left back and with Skacel helping him out he should be fine defensively. Put Euell or BWP on the right with Morgan and Wotton in the middle and you're looking at a decent experienced midfield. Then play Saga alongside Euell, BWP or even McGoldrick.
  8. Bristol 1 - 1 Southampton Saga
  9. Better at Preston than Norwich.
  10. Without Molyneux or Mills it looks like Surman and Skacel will be our left side. Hopefully we don't stick Lallana on the right again, Euell or McLaggon would be best imo.
  11. Obviously it isn't ideal with Surman on the right but when you have four wingers who are all left footed (Surman, Skacel, Holmes and Smith) and only a youngster like McLaggon on the right it's logical that one of the left footed players shifts to the right. Surman is the only one of our midfielders who has shown he can play on the right so makes sense to play him there.
  12. Surman has played his best football for us from the right of midfield.
  13. He looks like he's about 8.
  14. Ashley Young was on the bench, wouldn't be on there for a pointless friendly if he was injured. It's Luke Young who's injured.
  15. My god. I'm going to give them a ring and see if I can get a game.
  16. Not giving Young a chance is just crazy, he's soo much better than SWP and Downing. Can put in a decent free kick and corner as well. I think he must be ****ging Capello's missus.
  17. 6ft 15 year olds ftw. Looks like he could be good. How are Mascio and Hugo developing for you?
  18. Surman played his best football from the right for us imo. Aslong as we've got someone on the left like Skacel providing the width it should be fine.
  19. ------------ Davis James -- Size -- Perry -- Mills Surman Wotton Morgan Skacel ------ Saganowski Euell Subs: Bart, Lancashire, Lallana, McLaggon and Paterson.
  20. Delfonso from Villa would be ace, can't see Villa loaning us anyone after O'halloran last season.
  21. I agree, we where not great but Spain played basically their best side apart from Puyol and Silva. With Ferdinand, Rooney, Cole and Walcott involved and maybe Gerrard we would have given them a better game. I think Ferdinand and Rooney are probably our best two players we really miss them both. We're never going to boss a game against Spain and have a load of possesion it's just a case of stopping them playing and getting ourselves a goal on the break. Just like we wouldn't be able to boss games against Brazil or Argentina, they are beatable but would require a fair bit of luck and good management. Worst part about yesterday was how poor Carrick was, if he could re create his United form he would be one of our most important midfielders but he was just annonymous yesterday even worse than a Lampard/Gerrard England midfield performance.
  22. I doubt anyone would prefer SWP or Downing over Beckham. Again they where both terrible yesterday and Downing in particular is nearly always the scape goat for England. We need to use two wingers from Walcott, Cole, Young and Beckham imo. Depends who else is in the team which two play I guess, for me with everyone fit i'd start with Cole on the left and Walcott on the right.
  23. If he was offered (i don't think he will be) then he probably would take it altough like I said it would be the wrong decision. He clearly isn't ready for Premiership football yet, let alone being the 3rd manager in a season for Pompey it's just never going to end well. Wether he joined Pompey or stayed with Leicester the chances are he'd be in the Championship next season. I don't think any sensible Saints fan would think Pearson is suddenly ready for the Premiership at this stage in his career, a few more seasons in the lower leagues and maybe a promotion to the Premiership would do him well. Chucking a manager straight in at the deep end rarely works out well.
  24. What's continuity got to do with anything? I don't think either Adams or Pearson should be getting the job or have got the job.
  25. Why? What's the point in leaving a club where he's on the up and doing well to join a club who are in trouble where he will probably fail to keep them up and end up losing his job. The only good thing would be the extra income and the small chance he could keep them up, even then I don't think Pompey have a sustainable level of income to stay in the Premiership for long. He's clearly a talented manager but there is definatly a case of moving up the ladder too quickly, just look at Ince, he was doing really well at MK Dons but moved straight to the Premiership. He would have been better staying with MK Dons and helping them achieve promotion to the CCC.
