  1. I wish his first name was Juan, and that we still had Fitz Hall. That would be the funniest defensive pairing in England.
  2. Matt shouting on SSN, thought we'd scored. Turns out it was Utd... Edit: Oooh, we did.
  3. Saints: Davis, James, Size, Perry, Skacel, Smith, DMG, Wotton, Surman, Euell, BWP subs: Forecast, Liptak, Schneiderlin, Lallana, Saga This can only go well...
  4. I believe MLT is the figurehead of a consortium of local takeaway restaurants, trying to take over Saints.
  5. History and current form suggests stick your house on a Watford win. Recent history 2004/5 - League Cup - Watford 5-2 Saints - Blackstock, Ormerod 2005/6 - Championship - Watford 3-0 Saints 2005/6 - Championship - Saints 1-3 Watford - Madsen 2007/8 - Championship - Watford 3-2 Saints - Dyer, Rasiak 2007/8 - Championship - Saints 0-3 Watford 2008/9 - Championship - Saints 0-3 Watford ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Saints have no fresh injury concerns, but Lloyd James returns after a 2 match suspension. After a lot of mind changing, I'd go with this line-up - - - - - - - - - Davis - - - - - - - - - Thomson - - Size - - Perry - - Surman - BWP - - - Euell - - - James - - Holmes - - - - - - - - - - - -Skacel - - - - - - - - - - Saganowski - - - - - - - - - - -
  6. Of course we should, morally speaking. The club has been badly mismanaged financially and we're trying to get out of it through some sneaky loophole. We can only hope this loophole stands up to the investigation they're conducting.
  7. Independant enquiry called in to investigate the acounts of SLH and SFC. Enquiry likely to take weeks to resolve. Basically the 10 points deduction looks more likely than it has previously.
  8. 2 things I disagree with there. 1. You'd drop Skacel altogether and play Molyneux? I know you hate Skacel, but I think that's taking it a bit far. 2. I hope we never have to win the ball off the oppositiong, because there is nobody in that midfield capable of putting in a tackle, winning a 50-50 or a header.
  9. I would play Surman at LB. I was just pointing out I think Skacel is a better LM than Surman.
  10. Me neither, thought I was the only one thinking that. Skacel didn't score all those goals for Hearts playing left back. I'm not saying he'd do it again now,but Christ it has to be worth a try. It astonishes me the number of people who want to stick religiously to awful midfielders like Wotton, Lallana and Schneiderlin, but wont even try Skacel. But he is also a much better left winger. Surman's best possition is CM IMO. THe trouble is he needs a physical partner to play along side. The only players we've had remotely suitable to the job are Pele and Wotton.
  11. BWP as the lone striker. Has it really come to this...
  12. Cheers for this Nick.
  13. If that is the case, I'd be tempted to put James in midfield ahead of Schneiderlin. Saw James in midfield, admittedly in November, for the reserves and was very impressed. Way more effective than Wotton or Morgan.
  14. Well, they're still a long way short of competing with BMW and Reb Bull even if the DDs are banned. Besides, Brawn could fit a difuser made of cardboard and still be faster than Ferrari. Don't forget the first two races have so far featured 2 safety cars and a boat race. Without them Brawn would probably have won by about a minute.
  15. I was astonished when read it... He has actually won a header this season.
  16. The Ferrari drivers and team seem to be losing it a bit mentally. This weekend has just been a farce for them. Not sending Massa out for another qualy lap. Sending Kimi out on wets on a bone dry track. Massa blowing a fuse on the team radio when the race was red flagged. Then when all the drivers were sat on the grid in case of a restart, Kimi was already in garage having a choc ice. Funny isn't it.
  17. I know stats aren't the be all and end all but... Morgan Schneiderlin Starts: 23 Subs: 5 Goals: 0 Assists: 0 Shots on target: 4 Shots off target: 11 Headers won: 1 Added to that he tackles like a jellyfish and spends half his life in the physio room. "Flatter to deceive" doesn't quite do it justice somehow.
  18. Rupert struggled to put on a smile as he unwrapped the scarf granny knitted for his birthday.
  19. The trouble with Schneiderlin (appart from being a teenager with the injury record of Darren Anderton) is that he just has no impact on the game. Whilst his passing is pretty good, he never makes a defence splitting pass that leads to a goal. He can't shoot to save his life and tackles like a jellyfish. With a midfield including MS, Surman, Lallana and DMG you just have 3 players who can pass but generally flatter to deceive and one lazy lump who scores just often enough to stay in the team.
  20. Too much like our home shirt aswell. Would be an issue for eg. if we stayed up and had to play 'boro next season.
  21. I think he's more of a 'Grouse' kinda guy.
  22. I posted this away shirt last summer when Poortvliet was appointed: Think it looks pretty good if I do say so myself.
  23. Good idea. In light on recent ideas, I think I will go with: - - - - - - - Davis James - Size - Perry - Surman BWP - Morgan - Euell - Holmes - - - - - - - - - Skacel - - - - Saga
