Saints to win a poor game 1-0 and that'll do nicely.

'I tried desperately hard not too look smug. I failed' Plus I'm Dutch. Two/to/too/eight - it's all the same to me. Let's just say we made them look a right 2 'n' 8.

Looking good so far. If we ain't gonna finish top 6 then who is? We're looking just as good as any one else. Plus still learning - after all it takes ages for new players to gel together. Can't wait until ours do. Not worried about January. The rumours about us clinching a mega deal for a world superstar are all standing up to scrutiny so far. Exciting times. Nailed on.

I'm going with Forster for MOM. Why? Because of the very professional way he milked the clock all second half. He did finally pick up a booking but for me this was well worth it. He killed the game at any chance he had. Yes I know all top players should be able to do this but for some reason I noticed him doing it better than most last night. A couple of cracking saves too.

I keep seeing previews similar to this. It's so set up for an easy-ish Saints win. In the past this has usually meant a 1-0 defeat. Big game. I'm going with 4-0 to Saints though. Southampton (WWWW) v QPR (LWLD) Southampton are the only team in the Premier League who have a 100% win rate across their past four matches in all competitions. Not only have Southampton been winning, but their stats across their past four league games are strong. They’re ranked high for goals scored (eight) and clean sheets (three), and ranked low for goals conceded (one). QPR have failed to score in two of their past four games and scored three goals in their other two, so with these stats coupled with Southampton’s strong defensive numbers, a Saints clean sheet looks likely. I also expect Southampton to score a few goals against a QPR defence which has conceded 10 goals, the second most in the league. For this match, I’d bet on Southampton to win comfortably to nil.

So which 3 teams do you want to be drawn with in the Champions League next season? Come on Man City! (but not too much, 2-0 will do) Come on Villa! We wanna go top.
-
Yeah there were and I remember thinking 'get a goal at the end of this and it will get shown time & time again'. It was about then that the moves would collapse... Not Schneiderlin's on Saturday. What a goal that was. Love the video with the Solent commentary and the pass count on it. Definitely going to be an exciting season.

Sorry for the negativity - I of course meant to say Top 3. OK that is pushing it but Top 6 *is* nailed.

The only change I'd like to see is for each ground to have a big electronic clock. It starts at 45:00 and counts down to 0:00 It is one blokes job to stop it when there is an injury, a sub, a goal etc. When it hits 0:00 the game ends. The ref wouldn't have to think about the time and it would stop fake injuries. Roll about all you want mate. The clock is stopped.

Nailed. How about an option to only see posts by people who are a 'registered user'. We'd all be quite happy.

Thanks mate. It will end up excellent. Trust me.

F**k off you predictable wa*ker. Anyone left on this forum who ENJOYS a Saints win? Prob not...

Poor team 1. Saints 3. Looking forward to seeing this image a lot more times this season. You Saints fans or not? F**k me - if you can't enjoy today then why bother?

Average start but still on course. Seriously though - most Prem teams ain't any better than Saints. Full stop. 6th is very realistic. [/img]

Places to watch Saints in the US
Rut replied to fborosaint's topic in Overseas Saints / Supporters Groups
If you do find somewhere good to watch the games then post on up where you went. Looking at what you are up against then you prob def won't be getting the sound. I'd say that it is pretty nailed that the Chelsea & Man City games will be the featured games in any pub you go to. As said earlier you should be able to see the Saints games though. Any decent so-called 'Soccer Bar' has the TV channels that show every game. Sat 23 Aug Chelsea v Leicester (Sound) Palace v West Ham Saints v West Brom Swansea v Burnley Sat 30 Aug Villa v Hull Man City v Stoke (Sound) Newcastle v Palace QPR v Sunderland Swansea v West Brom West Ham v Saints You may wanna search to see if there are such things as a WBA or West Ham supporter group in the area. They may meet each week at a certain pub and have their game as the main one. Don't think there is a Saints one there? If you do walk into a soccer bar then don't cringe too much when you see a load of Man Utd, Arsenal, Lpool etc shirts. The fact that they get up early on a Sat to go to a pub to watch the games is actually quite cool. Most of them have a good knowledge of the game. Over the years they've been fed the big teams and most of them choose one to support... There's MLS games on in Philly (Sun Aug 24) & DC (Sun Aug 31). Full schedule: http://www.mlssoccer.com/schedule?month=all&year=2014&club=all&competition_type=46&broadcast_type=all&op=Search&form_id=mls_schedule_form A bit of a hefty push-bike ride from Virginia Beach but if you were around that way.... -
Not if it's anything like this song. Awful, pretentious tripe. 'Shut the fck up love' is what springs to mind.

I hope for your own sake that you were taking the pss. Normally people will say something like 'cost 50 quid, will accept 48 quid' like they are doing you some massive biggest bargain favour ever. You? Naah - none of that ol' pony! Cost 500 quid. Sell for 500 quid. Roll up! Roll up! Out of interest. Just how much do 500 quids worth of JL vouchers cost? That's usually the sort of thing they will knock out for 450 quid cos they know you have to spend them there.

The FPL prices are out ( http://fantasy.premierleague.com/player-list/ ) These are what they have set the SFC players at: Boruc £5.0 Gazzaniga £4.5 Fonte £5.5 Lovren £5.5 Clyne £5.0 Yoshida £4.5 Chambers £4.5 Stephens £4.0 Targett £4.0 Hooiveld £4.0 Tadic £7.5 Schneiderlin £5.5 Ramírez £5.5 Davis £5.0 Ward-Prowse £5.0 Wanyama £4.5 Isgrove £4.5 Reed £4.5 Cork £4.5 Pellè £7.5 Rodriguez £7.5 Osvaldo £7.0 Gallagher £5.0 Mayuka £5.0 Sharp £4.5 Tadic & Pellè are temptingly priced. Surely they are both nailed as starters and will both be in and around goals/chances. Those who play FPL - do you blindly put in 3 SFC players?
-
Well South Hampton got a couple of mentions but didn't see much of it. Marchwood power station in the background was about the highlight.
-
Yeah this. Corby Moore came through the SFC academy and is now playing in the NASL (the league below the MLS (that a lot of non-Americans dismiss as a joke league)). Indy Eleven are currently bottom of the NASL: http://www.indyeleven.com/matches/standings Still a damn sight better than most of us will ever do - but to make it to anywhere near the top of the game? Like you say - that's hard.
-
Cool that Indy Eleven has a Saints-ish player. Even if they can't always spell 'Southampton' correctly... http://www.indyeleven.com/team/roster/player/uuid/ui6sliex09mp10k5aq7n0v7et/corby-moore Think he's doing ok without exactly setting Indiana on fire. He's now an 'ampshire 'oosier. I'd buy him a beer, but he ain't old enough yet!

Great line up as usual. I know a few on here have been before - anyone going this year? Bands: http://www.rebellionfestivals.com/line-up/days

bye bye - can our next CB have a mohican or a skinhead. Lovren and Fonte look way too similar. 20 million? Sounds like a great price to me.
