  1. And what I considered to be a reasonably positive poster reaches his tipping point…..
  2. No fucking son-in-laws in this side and no mistake. Jonesey is playing a blinder.
  3. Lord Dickhead was giving himself repeated pats on the back about his support of Jonesey just a week or so ago, the silly cunt. But it’s probably the players and not the stupid setup or something.
  4. It’s a training ground fan for them. We’re so deep, so passive, and have no idea how to get out of our half consistently using this shape. It was always going to a very tough ask, but this is utterly pathetic from Saints.
  5. I blame it all. Hence why I said not entirely his fault.
  6. Not entirely his fault but he really does have crisp packet wrists.
  7. I’m guessing the pre show followed the line of all the Qatar hand wringing at the World Cup and highlighted the horrific atrocities of the Saudi regime who own Newcastle?
  8. Sounds like a good job I decided not to bother with the punditry Newcastle love in. Game only for me, Ferdinand and Given last time time were unacceptably biased. Surprised Franny didn’t chin at least one of them. Prats.
  9. Some VERY good news about the lineup….. Ainsley Maitland-Nikes didn’t make the matchday 20.
  10. That’s the popular thinking yes. Jones doesn’t agree and thinks Diallo is a better option for this opposition, as he did with the home game. As I say, i disagree, but it was absolutely nailed on that it was going to happen.
  11. Lavia not playing isn’t a surprise, Jones talked about it a few days ago. Don’t agree with his reasoning, but it’s what Jones has been planning for in this game. Janny B could have a rough homecoming.
  12. Was just in the car listening to the radio, they had their French expert talking about the transfer. He’s said that Rennes will be happy to cut their losses and effectively get back what they paid for him as he hasn’t hit expectations. Said he’s maybe one for the future but will take time. Not overly optimistic in the short term about this one, given that, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
  13. 29 in May as well. Doesn’t sounds very Saintsy. Though beggars can’t be choosers at this stage.
  14. https://inews.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-release-clauses-explained-football-chris-wood-newcastle-move-1399802 Payment up front isn’t necessarily mandatory. However, the selling club can refuse to sell if their terms of payment aren’t met, so yes, they can demand the money up front and be in the driving seat for negotiations.
  15. Moussa Demebele no longer a viable target. He told us to eff off then.
  16. The Nathan Jones derby is on.
  17. Yep, agree with this. Ralph was hamstrung by Lavia often not being available and losing Romeu, but he was also fairly dogmatic in playing a central 2 throughout his time with us. Not everything Jones has done has been bad, it’s unfair to say otherwise. Solidifying the central midfield has IMO under Jones been something we have improved on. I’m not yet sure if JWP playing as a 10 is really his best position, I personally think he’s at his best at the number on his back, an 8 within a solid midfield where he can burst forward.
  18. At least some of it, yes. Unless you want to tell me that he wanted to play games with his new side but somehow wasn’t allowed? It was his choice to give the players a week off when he took the job. His choice to take them away to Spain for a training camp. So I fail to understand why you say he was handicapped by not having his own ‘pre season’ when he obviously had the opportunity to do just that.
  19. Why isn’t it the same? Saints had the opportunity to play as many games as they liked through the World Cup break. They had almost all of their players available. And they chose not to play a clutch of games. Here’s a link that shows what other clubs did. Hint: lots of them played games. https://www.premierleague.com/news/2889537
  20. Struggling on the crisp XI, only got Rudi Salted Skacel and an even lamer attemp with Nigel Quavers.
  21. Great game this.
  22. No. If you remember scampi fries I think bacon fries are made by the same company. They’re like a slightly smaller but crispier version of a frazzle. They’re very good.
