I actually think Bednarek might be better than DCC.
-
Bloody hell Edozie. What an opportunity. And finally a quick break from Saints.
-
It wasn’t even that good a delivery, none of our players were challenging for it in the air. Just Ward I think jumping and not making the header and their keeper having an absolute ricket. It’s the only thing of note in another terrible half of Jonesball. We are a genuinely awful side to watch.

LOL.

WE HAD A SHOT ON TARGET!!!!!!

Commentator: “the away fans are already audibly not best pleased……and nor should they be”. The fans chiming in with “Nathan Jones….your football is shit”.

Saved by the crossbar.

Getting very outplayed here. Palace playing like we used to at our best: quick, crisp one touch pass and move, shift defence to attack very well. We look ponderous and out of ideas, any time we get forward we cut back and let them regroup. AMN is stealing a living, terrible player.
-
Not even a good goal to concede, just weak all over the pitch. Shocking defending from DCC,looks like Bazunu could’ve done better.
-
Yep. AMN lining up in CM, Edozie wide right. And the long balls begin already.
-
Flipping eck, the formation shown has Edozie at right wing back…..
-
Saints fans are in good voice.

Out of interest, who is “we”, brand new poster? Your first post on this board a few days ago was this one, where you used “we” to describe Luton. Confused? Yeah, me too…
-
This. In fact I’d be surprised if a lot our players don’t.
-
No, you’re not recalling it correctly. Redknapp came out with his doomed comment after he left us, he said ‘they were doomed when I got there’. As it was we were actually 18th.

Pretty much spot on tbf

I’m sceptical immediately about the metrics used of ‘potential’ used in that video. He could’ve used anyone to represent the point of undervalued talent and he used Asafa Powell breaking the world record in 2005, saying everyone was shocked as Powell was “a totally unknown man”. By that point Powell had: won the Jamaican 100m national championship in 2003; won two international events including a golden league 100m in 2003; finished 7th in the world championship 100m final in 2003; won the Jamaican 100m national championship in 2004 with a time of 9.91; then throughout 2004 he ran 9 sub-10 second 100m races. That is not a totally unknown man by any metric.

You’d just as well have a poll saying “are you Nathan Jones family/friends”, it would have the same sort of result.

Redknapp used to do this. It was the very first of the warning signs right from the off, distance yourself from the problems at hand.
-
He absolutely should’ve hit the target, but it wasn’t completely glaring. A very good chance, but not as clear as the one that forest rattled the bar with at your end.
-
Lyanco’s place seemed to be dictated by the fact that he was the sweeper who would hit long balls around the pitch. Most of which didn’t come off. I’m guessing DCC wasn’t entrusted with the wide CB role due to lack of pace, but it’s a guess. Jones is determined with this 3 CB formation while we’ve all had months of watching it fail. Supposedly he’s watched all of our games this season in full detail, I can only think he missed pre season and the first couple of league games until we dispensed with the shambles of a system.
-
We’ll have to agree to disagree. It’s no good him saying “we just can gift sides goals”, while also picking a liability in Lyanco who had a horror show last game whereby he was a defensive calamity, then he has picked him again. It’s no good saying “it’s on me” when he’s had weeks and weeks to imprint his style on this team and we are demonstrably worse than before. It’s no good saying we were comfortable in defence when they scored and had the second best chance of the game when they rattled the bar from a free shot just a few yards out. Its just nonsense words that aren’t cutting through with his players or the supporters. It’s just weak.

BBC here. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/64106273 “We didn't have enough quality”. ”They’ve been low on confidence for a while”. “We gifted them a goal and that’s symptomatic of what’s been going on here over a long period of time” Fuck off. Absolute chancer.

I know managers have to try and pick the positives, but fucking hell. That the epitome of a performance where you hold your hands up and say that, management team and players, we got it all wrong. Dont see where our next win is coming from under this bellend. The players clearly aren’t buying in to his nonsense tactics either. Just get rid, salvage whatever is left of pride, and prepare for life in the championship next season.

He quite clearly caveated it with “for us”. Because, for us, it was comparatively a big spend.
