  1. Amen to that
  2. So you play the man and not the ball? Strange. "Heavy agenda mongers"?! Christ alive!
  3. His best Saints XI would get rinsed by mine. Tim Flowers Jason Dodd - Mark Wright - Michael Svensson - Mark Dennis Jimmy Case - Steve Williams Rod Wallace - Matt Le Tissier - Danny Wallace Alan Shearer
  4. I thought it was common knowledge that the contractors had gone back to work. Hey ho.
  5. Very strange XI. Not just formation, but I'm wondering how he knows just how good Keegan and Paine were given that he wasn't old enough to have seen either of them play for Saints. An all time XI is really only relevant for pleyers you can remember seeing live (which is why KK never gets in my all time Saints XI, I think I can remember seeing him just the once).
  6. This thread is superb already!! Poor old Frank has gotten all indignant with no prompting whatsoever. Classic.
  7. Great interview from Nige on Sky. Not over the top about it, feet firmly on the ground, but you can sense a bit more inner satisfaction to him. Top man.
  8. Spot on. Lambert being played as the focal point; Rodriguez sidelined; plus the bonus of Jack Cork back. Mates at the game said we were brilliant, just brilliant; and watching what I could on a dodgy stream I have to agree.
  9. Saints are the Prem Plus game; 8.25pm. I'll be out :-(
  10. It was scoffed at when I said in the summer that I thought Cork is a better player than Schneiderlin, but I think he really does make a massive difference to us. Having them both together; fantastic. Saints were awesome today and I think having Jack Cork in there just helps us to tick.
  11. Please don't say that. This is Saints; has a lifetime of supporting us not taught you anything?
  12. Personal choice I reckon. I never got on with moulds on 3G pitches and wear astros instead.
  13. F*ck me; they call us obsessed, yet in their direst hour of need they're trying to raise funds by designing and selling a t-shirt dedicated to us! So, so lacking in self-awareness.
  14. Probably someone in the office forgot the date?! That's quite a good one for you Dave!!
  15. You can't say that, apparently. Colin Farmery specifically went on radio when Portpin levied that exact charge and, in super Col's own words "Portpin are making things up" and "I'd like to see what proof they have of that".
  16. You say that I'm making a big deal out of it. I could quite as easily say that you're going out of your way to make a song and dance about how it doesn't mean anything, and that it happens all the time in business. I don't happen to agree that being taken to court is all that common; if it is, then you're doing something wrong. It happens, of course, but I'm not as flippant about the whole thing as you I guess. And of course national papers won't run this story; it's a minor one and I'm pretty sure I've never suggested otherwise. You asked the question; would I say Apple are a bad company? No. Would I say they have let themselves down in a number of areas, and the way they have been proved to have acted was wholly inappropriate? Yes. I would say it is totally acceptable (and to be encouraged) that they should be brought to account for their misdeeds. I'm not sure why you're accusing me (as you seem to be) of connecting this element of bad business practise with us having no money. The two are entirely different. This, to me, just seems like a wholly unneccessary way to do business, especially so for a community club who placed great stock in telling us that they were going to be proactive in sourcing and working with local companies. It may not be good news, and it may not be big news, but its news.
  17. Well of course there could Marco. And perhaps we could have taken an objective view to it all if SFC had actually turned up in court to defend themselves. Sadly that's not to be; but do feel free to toss other ideas around yourself.
  18. As is mine. I'll profess to being fairly ignorant about the precise meaning of these figures; other than that I know that they're there, and they don't make at all good reading. Which is why, for now, I'm asking questions.
  19. The problem is that in many cases its not ruthless its just downright stupid. The programme sellers won't be a money-saving exercise; that's just daft to think that. Using agency staff, providing uniforms etc etc will mean that there won't be a likely cost saving. Its just a rebranding exercise and should be just recognised as that. I'm concerned about our financial position, though there's no hard evidence to back that tup. I'm also concerned about the way that local media and many local businesses have been cut off to the extent that they are disinclined to use the (expensive and high margin) corporate areas, and how the whole dumbing down of that experience now means we can't get close to a total sell out of the ground even against the top sides in the country as its such a poor and overpriced option that it doesn't come close to selling out. Its plain poor business sense; and if that's being "ruthless", its a really bad way of going about it that you p*ss off your highest paying customers.
  20. I posted this a week or two back but it bears repeating (and has been referenced in this thread). Southampton Football Club Ltd's last accounts showing a net worth of minus £28M. http://companycheck.co.uk/company/00053301 St. Mary's SPV Ltd's last accounts showing a new worth of minus £18M. http://companycheck.co.uk/company/03998175 St. Mary's Stadium Ltd's last accounts showing a net worth of minus £22M. http://companycheck.co.uk/company/03798424 DMWSL613 Ltd. (the holding company) last accounts showing a net worth of minus £24M. http://companycheck.co.uk/company/06951765 That's more than enough for me to sit up and and ask questions and adopt a "worried" state about our financial position.
  21. In which case the club could have settled (and kept it quiet) rather than going to court, losing, and having it splashed all over the media. So either way it was an utterly dumb decision.
  22. That's certainly how I see the loan. As for our actual financial position; its of course buried in mystery, the "latest" acounts are out of date by 18 months. My position on our financial position right now is "concerned"; if we get relegated its "extremely worried".
  23. I find it really funny! *says something detrimental about the club* "Proof, where's the proof? This is only your opinion, its all you ever talk about". *proof comes out in the local press* "Well this clearly shows that Cortese knows what he's doing and won't be pushed around. Its a good thing, and its only your agenda that makes you see it as bad". Your Pompey analogy is totally spot on.
  24. I see. So basically you'll never know, really?
  25. How do you know if he does?
