SNSUN - Striker, Normally Substitute, Useless & Nasty

I had Salisu down as MH when I posted it but luckily this was one of the times I proof read myself. 🙄

GB KWP ABK MS RP JWP ID SA JA AA CA Let's hope Che has his heading boots on (wait, what's the equivalent of shooting boots for heading?), that Diallo has one of his better games, and that Aribo does something brilliant. The back 5 writes itself right now.

IMO average defines someone who played quite a lot for us but rarely did anything of note, yet kept playing. Someone reliable but uninspiring. I'd go with a midfielder since their priority is neither to score goals nor be the last line of defence. One player screams average to me since I started supporting Saints and that is our former record signing Rory Delap. Yes we paid £4 million for absolute bog-standard average blandness. His goal record was poor (with his overhead kick showing that no matter how average the player, you can have the odd moment), I don't recall him getting many assists and he didn't even develop his throw in technique until after he'd left us.

If the two games are called off then they may have a new manager appointed before he ever gets a chance to be caretaker. Just as well, his wrist would probably snap from the manager's handshake.

Born in Ascot, raised and still live(ish) in Windsor, chorister for the Queen on a few occasions, so I can safely say I’ve lived in her shadow for my near 42 years on this planet. Safe to say I find this sad news. RIP your majesty. King Charles III. It doesn’t sound right yet.

I hope Chelsea get Potter. For one because it will be an interesting experiment for Chelsea but also because I still think Brighton are punching above their weight and this could bring them back down to earth.

United with 2 GKs on the bench. It's a bold move Cotton, let's see if it pays off.

Well this won't be easy after we should've got a point at Wolves. Home should help but Brentford can score goals although their defence isn't perfect. Nevertheless they are another team we should be getting points from if we have any aspiration to keep clear of relegation battles this season. It'll be tough though. Back 5 is settled. Bring in AMN next to JWP in midfield, play SArmstrong on the right from the start, Aribo central and AA on the left behind Adams. My stream was dodgy but we looked better when Stu came on. Very cautiously going for a 1-1. Though this is a game we should win.

I have Wolves as our rivals so that's a poor result.
-
Edozie and AMN for Perraud and Aribo
-
Dare I say it but this could be one of those games we can play all day without scoring. Need some Aribo magic.
-
Need Mara on here. Bit of unpredictability

Push Saints push!

Rate Saints business in the Summer 2022 Transfer Window

8 out of 10 and one of our better windows in years. It had to be, we were one bad window away from going down. Thank you Sports Republic. Biggest surprise? The sheer number of signings but very needed. Money spent without a big sale is another. Fave transfer? Aribo, I like him and I think he’ll have a lot to offer. Which player will do best long term? ABK has already shown he’s going to be a top, top CB for years but Lavia will run him close. I’d love it if Mara made it too. Cleverest transfer? AMN because he’s versatile and can help us out in a number of positions. Which position have we strengthened the best? CM is close but the signings of ABK and DCC have given us our best complement of CBs in years. Ultimately even if we haven’t quite done enough in attack, we’ve strengthened our defence and midfield so tight games can be swung by the odd goal. I still think we will be in the lower half of the table but we’ve given ourselves a good platform for the future. -
I wonder how true the Ross Barkley links were today. Could still yet bring him in to bolster AM...

And Matty Vydra...

Nico Lawrence I think. Was non-League until recently. -

3 good CBS now and Lyanco as back up. I’m a bit uncomfortable we don’t have a 5th choice or even someone that could drop in there (unless Lavia can) but it definitely seems we’ve improved the CB quality short of a bad injury crisis. Welcome Duje. -
That’ll be that then. A very good window, one of our best ever and extremely needed just to keep up. A GK, 2 CB’s, a LB, 2 CMs, 2 AMs and a striker (and Lis!) Also some deadwood shifted out. Probably we needed an extra striker or AM and a shame the Gakpo deal failed but it has to be an 8/10 window for me. As someone said earlier, only 13 games and then the window opens again so it’s nice to know we’ll have money to spend then if needed.

Welcome Duje

Good luck to Villa…

I’m staying up for the Duje signing then going to bed… i think that’ll be it. An extra player would be a nice surprise but it’s probably just too late.
