  1. Pre-transfer window I would have said we were almost certs for a relegation battle (we'd probably survive because I think there are weaker teams than us but nonetheless I think we'd have been at the wrong end of the table). Now with the new additions I think we are largely an "unknown" quantity, mainly because we've addressed the issue that our team was crap at the end of last season by "strengthening" the spine - but with players that are young and that we don't know much about. If the new youngsters settle and we sign the extra players we need, we shouldn't have any issues with relegation at all. The window is far from over, but as it stands I can see Bournemouth and Fulham struggling again, Forest have done good business but they have signed a LOT of players that have to gel, then from last year's Prem lot you have to say that Everton and Leeds may struggle, Brentford have signed good players but could be there, and maybe someone completely unexpected like Wolves, Palace, Leicester, Brighton could be down there (though unlikely, I think of those Wolves may struggle).
  2. I think Spurs are a different beast even just a few months later. It's not impossible we won't win but they've made some very good signings. Mind you Kane usually starts slow so... 🤞
  3. It says so in that exact article. 😁 https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thesun.co.uk/sport/19200662/chelsea-transfer-tino-anjorin-everton/amp/ "Wonderkid" used here in the Everton link. He's also amazing on my FM Mobile save. 😜
  4. 2 strikers (Adamu and Delap) Another 10 (Cornet) Another RB (Pedersen) Another CB (Colwill) Positions are the ones I want, not fussed who really but have named some players available or previously mentioned on here. Also, things went quiet on Anjorin. I know he didn't do a lot at Huddersfield but he's still highly rated.
  5. We have Spurs away... not denting the morale of the noob youngsters right away might be a good thing! 😝 Seriously hopefully we sign a striker in the next week so they have a chance to bed in before the season begins. I think if we start Adams and Adam we'll struggle to score goals against the better sides.
  6. They missed a trick, they should've had Spence in a bed looking scared saying "I see Djed people"! Will this quash the KWP rumours...
  7. Left Wing Back too if we persist with the 3 CBs. Cornet on one side and KWP on the other sounds tasty. I agree £17.5 million sounds like a good price if true.
  8. I still think the ball is in our court with Delap. Yes Burnley have Kompany, but we have everything else to offer besides that. Even if City don't want to sell him permanently I'd be surprised if we didn't still loan him (perhaps with an option). We need two strikers and as long as one of them is a permanent, I don't see a problem with the other one being a loanee. It worked with Broja. Anyway even if we don't get him, I'm sure the club have a list of striking targets to go and get besides him. The clock is ticking though.
  9. We might win games if we play 6-6-6. (And if nobody notices the extra 8 players...) 😁 Apart from a brief few minutes today and the other day I didn't see much, but it's still early days. As it stands we need two strikers, another 10 and a full back. Another CB is a luxury but if the right player came up maybe we'd go for it but I think we have to wait until we ship one out. Ultimately we're 4/5 players away from being ready, otherwise we head into another season with gaps in the squad like every season. Still time, seems to be some decent work so far in this transfer window.
  10. Pretty much my only thoughts too. Doesn't look right. Not sure I like it and I was on the fence.
  11. He played the last couple of games of last season IIRC. I'm not anti-McCarthy, he can have good games and he doesn't deserve being hounded out on social media, but I really hope we don't suffer through, like, 10 games of poor McCarthy goalkeeping performances before Ralph decides to try Bazunu. Whoever the best keeper is in pre-season is the one that should get the nod, but I think Ralph will start the season with McCarthy.
  12. I'm really surprised Newcastle haven't won this race, they clearly wanted him and it's not like the don't have money to burn. Weirdly they're being oddly sensible about their spending so far - I, and probably a lot of others, thought they'd be really splashing the cash this summer. Still time I guess...
  13. Literally the only 3 minutes of the game I got to watch yesterday was when we scored our goal. Good cross from Will, good header from Adam - ironically two players that have been linked away from us this summer! I'm not too fussed about Adam leaving as long as we bring in two good strikers (although that might still leave us short over the season meaning we have to rely on Tella or, if they don't leave, Walcott or Redmond, so you could make a case we'd need 3 strikers, or 2 strikers and an attacking 10 that can play up top) but I'd like to see Smallbone stick around as a squad player. I think there's a player in there. Hopefully we can get a couple more transfers over the line in the next week or two and we'll feel more confident about things, although we do need to offload one or two players soon. We're basically 2 strikers, a 10 and a full back away from being 'squad' ready - with another CB a nice bonus if Ralph plans on playing 3 at the back.
  14. Working 06:30hrs to 14:30hrs - so sitting in an air-conditioned office as much as I can get away with. There's 4 hours overtime going after my shift on Tuesday and I'm very tempted to take it.
  15. For us it is. Perhaps not for others but it is £10 million higher than our highest ever transfer fee, and it would be £30 million (plus add-ons no doubt) spent on a striker who, while very promising (as we saw last year at times), is still quite raw and inexperienced. I understand the point is to make money on him long term, but if he costs us £30 million, surely we'd be look at a buy back of about £70-£80 million and I can't see Chelsea going for that anyway. Hell of a risk for us, even if we did happen to have £30 million to blow on one striker. Don't get me wrong I'd fap myself dry if we broke our transfer record this summer and brought him in - I just think, based on what we've seen from our transfers so far, we're shopping in a store that costs a third of the price of a Broja.
  16. That was a good finish. Could've smashed it.
  17. Come on Ellen White! Gotta smash that Rooney England goal record out the history books!
  18. You know you're having a good transfer window when we're itching for another signing all of 6 days since the last one! Everton really have no transfer policy besides "who can we sign from relegated clubs". 😄
  19. Harry Redknapp. Oh, I thought that read "Harry Wanker"...

Well we'd probably have to shell out a fair bit.

And if we can't get Beech back, maybe one day in the future we can get the son of a Beech. 🤪
  22. I see today we're still being name-checked in links to Chris Richards of Bayern too, alongside Leeds and Palace. I don't think we'll bring in another CB unless we ship one out first though - unless we really want, say, Colwill and the time to sign him crops up first.
  23. Maybe, but they didn't have Peppa Pig World back then. 😉
  24. I think the silhouette looks a bit "Handsome Pete" from the Simpsons: Hat, Hair sticking out, big mouth of teeth a the bottom, you just need to draw eyes, nose, teeth and ears. 😁
  25. Ah didn't think about locality. Though he is a Winchester lad so.... 🤞 Plus we have Paultons Park. Massive draw for a lad his age. 😜
