  1. We haven’t won 3 games in a row in the League since the tail end of the Koeman season 6th place finish. (Although we were close this season in December...) What a place to go to to try and break that streak. I’d love a win but a draw to keep Everton in passing distance wouldn’t be a bad result. I hope Adams goes on a scoring run now, but he needs to keep his place to do that, so would be interesting to see if Ralph keeps with in him.
  2. I’d have ripped off an arm, a leg and a torso and eaten it if someone had offered me 12th/13th after the 9-0. What a job Hasenhuttl has done with the same team that has struggled the last few years. If we can bring in a couple of decent signings for a change in whatever summer window we get, we could really push on.

    20/21 Kit

Love a sash shirt, i haven't bought the last few shirts but I'm tempted to get both the red and white!
  4. In recent years the names Vincent Aboubaker and Wylan Cyprien stand out. The latter would be a cracking signing, doing very well at Nice but probably out of our price range now, though Newcastle got St Maximin for £16 million last summer from them...
  5. Presently they are in better form, in fact they are top of the form table, and still have something to play for, and will most likely put out their best team, so yes currently. Their front 3 and Fernandes have clicked and look awesome and will be real challengers next season. We played City at the right time, a lot of their posters on Bluemoon say it was a dead rubber and they were looking forward to other competitions. No taking the shine of a wonderful defensive performance from us though against City, and we will be tough opposition for United and could get something, but they will be a different proposition than City. Everton will be a tough proposition too but our good away form and current team spirit coupled with our superb fitness levels since the end of lockdown means we go there as equals and I’m more confident than usual of a result at Goodison.
  6. F*ckaduck! What a win. Prime time Sunday night on BBC 1, and at home where we've been dodgy, and we've shown the world what we're capable of. Best defensive performance in years. Very much felt like the Leeds win in the Championship. City might say they played a changed team but they still had the quality there to dick is 9 times out of 10. Thankfully not tonight. Hard to pick a MOTM but without the McCarthy saves we would have been sunk. McCarthy - 10 - great saves. Nuff said. KWP - 9 - a couple of knocks but got up and kept going. Best RB since Clyne? Should definitely look into signing him. Stephens - 10 - was first to everything and decent distribution. Bednarek - 9 - some great blocks and headers. Bertrand- 8 - had a tricky game against Mahrez but did well. Nobody deserves less than 8 tonight. JWP - 10 - was absolutely everywhere. Romeu - 8 - when he got booked I thought uh oh but a great defensive performance. Redmond - 8 - worked hard and was an outlet but a touch too selfish on occasion... Armstrong - 9 - good assist from constant closing down. Couple of iffy moments right at the end but another solid game. Adams - 8 - wonderful first goal and was an outlet but faded. Ings - 10 - close to my MOTM. Was as good if not better defensively as in attack constantly making interceptions I just wish he could have stretched his leg out for that goal. His fitness levels are something else. I'm not rating the subs but Long did OK when he came on. Only 2 shows how fit the first XI are, but also maybe how weak the squad is. That was a young bench. Hasenhuttl - 10 - that was a Hasenhuttl team playing in a Hasenhuttl way. Long may he reign. Great faith in Adam's dutifully rewarded. Two tough games now. I'd have taken 3 points from the three (including City) and we already have that in the bag. I struggle to see anything against a brilliant United side but we should go to Everton with confidence.
  7. A game like this is absolutely a free hit and a heavy loss wouldn’t make a blind bit of difference to our season... however it’s Prime Time on Sunday on the Beeb. We’ve already been spanked once on live TV this season at home, let’s hope for a closer game against City. 3 tough games now, all 3 are in form. Just have to hope City rotate their team a bit and lack cohesion. 3-1 loss though IMO.
  8. Hammers are going to sneak this aren’t they, just to piss off every non Hammers fan around the world. Come on Chelsea!
  9. Who do I want promoted/relegated? Preston, Brentford, Fulham & West Ham, Villa and Watford. Who do I think will get promoted/relegated? Leeds, WBA, Forest & Norwich, Villa and Bournemouth. So I stand to be pretty disappointed at the end of the season!
  10. He’s very highly rated by the Arsenal fans, more so than Nketiah. According to their forums, they saw Balogun, Martinelli and young midfielder Azeez as the future of their attack alongside the established Saka. But apparently Balogun has only one year left on his contract and is stalling on a new contract as he wants first team football and with Nketiah and Saka seemingly preferred he may not get it there if Aubamayang and/or Lacazette stick about. Mooted fee of around £8-10 million. Would be seemingly a decent signing for potential based on what I’ve read but where would that leave Obafemi and N’Lundulu? Not to mention Adams who I would guess we might be looking to cash in on if Leeds still hold a candle for him...
  11. I know this is my last post but.... for all the height Vestergaard has, he’s a crap header of the ball. Ooh Long should have played that pass through... Good work by Ings. KWP seems comfortable on the ball.
  12. That Watford team has goals in them and their pre-COVID form was very good. Tough game. We need the first goal I think. UTS.
  13. Forced to change the team today but I still think we can get a point against team fighting for their lives. McCarthy (yes stick with him for now) KWP, Bednarek, Vestergaard, Bertrand JWP, Smallbone Armstrong, Redmond Long, Ings. Going for a hard fought 2 all though we do have the attack to win, I think our defence may mean we have to out-score them.
  14. 7) get better players
  15. Can't believe we look like we could end up gifting Arsenal 3 points. God what I wouldn't give for a late Saints equaliser. KWP > Valery
  16. For us, Newcastle drawing is ok but a top 10 finish for us still isn’t out of our grasp. On a personal level I’d love to see West Ham go down so poor results there too, Villa point aside. Norwich are gone. Bournemouth will join them. Then it’s one of Villa, West Ham and Watford. I think, sadly, it will be Villa. Agree with the comment above though, Sheffield United will probably suffer from second season syndrome next season, especially without Henderson. I also think Burnley are due a dodgy season at some point. Depends if they keep hold of Tarkowski.
  17. Pretty disgraceful decision to show kids that something like that goes unpunished. Still JWP will hopefully be in full wind up merchant mode a la Zahagate so maybe can get him sent off early. 😈
  18. John Cross in the Mirror tweeted Guendouzi’s disciplinary will be fast tracked and he should miss our game. Another player they would be without. Definitely in with a shout of beating them.
  19. Yep I was getting this earlier (after my post saying it was fine for me), but now it seems to be OK. 👍
  20. I can see Villa nicking this as Sheffield Utd should be one up. Even though I’m confident we’ll be safe from relegation worries, I don’t particularly want teams behind us creeping up. Sheffield United are probably uncatchable. Draw would be OK.
  21. Looks good on my iPad Steve, nice work. (Also just checked on my phone too and it’s good.) I never used Tapatalk, just the site as it was and this is much better IMO. Now to get used to the new functions!
  22. Did anyone go to Tucktonia in Christchurch? I have very vague memories of being on a little train there.

    Coronavirus

I would hazard an educated guess that there are a lot of casual foreign workers in London getting paid cash in hand. Illegal, yes, but if that stops they’ll either resort to crime or die. Which means non -essential travel, at least in London, will continue until greater measures are put in place.

    Coronavirus

As a Tube worker we’ve been told we’re not closing to keep ferrying the key workers around. The problem is staff are dropping like flies as they self isolate because they or one of their household have Covid 19 symptoms, and that is largely because they are coming into contact with customers despite posters advising the social distancing 2 metres and posters saying essential travel only. Luckily for me, as a Station Supervisor of one of the smaller stations, I can position myself in the office, minimising direct contact with customers. There have been a couple of incidents in the last couple of days on other lines than mine, involving customers collapsing with Covid 19 symptoms, which staff and other customers have obviously been exposed to. Rush hour this morning was a lot busier than I was expecting, I wait to see how busy tomorrow is. This is an unprecedented and unique situation. Unfortunately there will still be people out there that don’t respect authority and will flaunt the new guidelines.
  25. On a personal level, is null and void for the season our best outcome? What happens to the goals Ings has scored for instance? Would they count against his career tally or be wiped? Besides stats, I can’t see a bad side for Saints, it’s not like we were that close to relegation. Are we screwed financially? Leeds not going up would be very funny, but my mate is a Fulham fan and he’d be ****ed off if they missed their chance for promotion. Personally my guess is the Leagues will be finished, just much later in the year. Then maybe skip next season and reset everything ready for the 2021-2022 season.
