  1. Yeah but he plays for Arsenal so it doesn't count.
  2. Bournemouth equalise at Leicester.
  3. It was.
  4. Very poor from Downes to be dispossessed like that. Typical Saintsy goal to concede.
  5. Well, we kinda knew that wasn't going to last didn't we 🤣
  6. Oh. My. Word.
  7. I wonder how long he'll be out for? 🤔
  8. Playing with a low block to concede possession to the opposition, and then playing keep-ball on the rare occasions that we do manage to not give it away immediately. It's utterly ridiculous. It's fine to have a quick channel runner like Archer on in a game like this if we are going to try and play him in with first time balls on the counter. But there's zero chance of us actually doing that because of RM's stubbornness.
  9. Or, it would appear, his own body.
  10. Surely a foul on Dibling?
  11. Aaaaaaaaand that's Stewart out for the season again then.
  12. I'm just lost for words. The one time we actually had a chance to get forward on the counter, of fucking course we just stopped, waited for Arsenal to regroup and take up their defensive shape, and passed it around meaninglessly until KWP hit a powder puff shot from outside the area. It's just insanity. The ONLY way we are ever going to cause any danger to the Arsenal goal is by counter-attacking at pace. Seriously, how can Russ not see this?
  13. Haven't seen this posted anywhere so apologies if thus has already been discussed on another thread... https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/24628989.martin-accepts-played-striker-bournemouth/ WTF!? How could a supposed professional manager need hindsight to see something so fucking obvious to literally everyone else? He's losing the plot.
  14. I quite enjoyed the first season, but I haven't got round to watching S2 yet. I probably won't bother now if it's not being renewed. Shame.
  15. But what would be the point in keeping him just to get us promoted again, if we're just going to end up back in the same place two years from now: a newly promoted team, patched together on a limited budget, led by a man who doesn't have what it takes to manage at PL level? That's complete madness.
  16. Absolutely ridiculous, far-fetched fantasy. There's no chance we'll hold out until the 11th minute FFS 🙄

  18. Just activated my free 3 month subscription to Apple TV, ahead of the upcoming release of Silo S2, and have been off work with a heavy cold all week so I decided to binge all of the first (and currently only) season of Dark Matter. It's an intriguing concept and very well executed with good pacing and strong performances from the main cast (**spoiler** - very cleverly playing multiple different versions of the same character). The ending nicely sets up another season, with literally infinite possibilities of future plot direction. Glad it has been renewed because it would be such an anti-climax otherwise.
  19. It's fine. Russ has told us before that he doesn't need to do his homework on our upcoming opponents, and that all we need to do is focus on playing our own game. Nothing to worry about.

    Israel

No, they have a more subtle approach of gradual ethnic cleansing in the West Bank and Gaza instead. Same underlying principle - same end result. People killed / displaced in the name of religious fundamentalism, and new generations of hate-filled extremists created. Like you say, there won't be peace in our lifetimes, if ever.

    Israel

Now on this we are in full agreement, sadly. Perhaps. But there's also the danger it could just result in a power vacuum, and recent history in Iraq and Libya suggests that won't improve matters for anyone.

    Israel

That may well be true. But it takes two to tango as you well know. There are also plenty of religious fundamentalists in Israel, with a fervent belief in the ancient scriptures telling of God promising the land to Abraham and his children, who don't recognise the Palestinian people's right to exist either. How is that any different?

    Israel

I see no purpose in getting drawn into another pointless chicken and egg argument. Cos it's been done to death previously on this thread and nobody ever seems to be willing to make any concessions. Like I said, both 'sides' will claim they have righteous justification for their actions, but the truth is that all parties are guilty of past atrocities that have fuelled the perpetual state of conflict in the region.

    Israel

Sorry but when you said "Guess a few here will be backing them over evil Israel?", I assumed you meant here on this forum and were being deliberately provocative towards certain people who have continually disagreed with you on this thread. Simply dismissing Iran as 'evil' does kinda suggest that you have a very black and white view of the situation though.

    Israel

I get why you've posted such an obtuse comment, but all you're really doing is demonstrating that you have never fully taken on board the comments from posters who have tried to point out that the state of Israel is not the holier-than-thou, innocent victim their government wants the world to believe it is. This missile attack from Iran was inevitable the moment Israel launched its ground assault in Lebanon. Both sides will claim they are only retaliating or acting in self defence, and neither can actually claim the moral high ground.
