Sounds like a cracking atmosphere today

Just seen this on the BBC report. I don't know who watched the game for them but they are obviously very easily pleased.
-
Fucksake. They should be well in the lead by now. Another dreadful performance from us.

Looks like a hammy for Sully

This and this. A few times they had players over-committed in our half and we had the chance to play a first time ball forward, but you could almost see the restraint on the player's faces as they remembered their instructions and just passed it around at the back instead. It's infuriating and boring to watch.

Leeds totally dominating against Rotherham but still somehow level. Sound familiar?
-
Edit.
-
I've had no takers for mine so far so it's yours if you want it.
-
I have one spare if you're still looking for one?
-
I have a spare ticket if anyone lis looking for one.

Thanks for the previous links. I guess I should have realised that we aren't the only country that has rowed back somewhat on its net zero pledges. I'd love to know though - on what do you base your assertion that the drive to reduce emissions is making us all poorer and more miserable?

This is simply untrue. https://www.iea.org/reports/an-energy-sector-roadmap-to-carbon-neutrality-in-china https://www.iea.org/commentaries/india-s-clean-energy-transition-is-rapidly-underway-benefiting-the-entire-world

You do realise that this problem was solved because the international community recognised the danger and worked together to do something about it, right?

Q&A: Warming of 2C would trigger ‘catastrophic’ loss of world’s ice, new report says - Carbon Brief Global warming of 2C would see “extensive, long-term [and] essentially irreversible” losses from the Earth’s ice sheets and glaciers, warns a new report. It would also lead to polar oceans that are “ice-free” in summer and suffering “essentially permanent corrosive ocean acidification”, the report says. The 2023 “state of the cryosphere” report from the International Cryosphere Climate Initiative (ICCI) lays out the impacts on Earth’s frozen land and seas from sustained warming at 2C and the “catastrophic global damage” that would result. These impacts would include “potentially rapid, irreversible sea level rise from the Earth’s ice sheets”, the report says, with a “compelling number of new studies” all pointing to thresholds of sustained ice loss for both Greenland and parts of Antarctica at well-below 2C. This would commit the world to “between 12 and 20 metres” of sea level rise “if 2C becomes the new constant”.

It's unusually mild for the time of year up here in Yorkshire at the moment, but looks like the temperature is forecast to drop significantly before the weekend. Might even have to put a jumper on!

This ref is an absolute tool.
-
Lol. That is never, ever a penalty. But the Maguire one should have been, so it's evened out I guess.
-
I realise this game is meaningless, but what an utter load of shite.
-
Maguire showing there exactly why he isn't getting regular game time for Utd. What a shitshow.
-
It wouldn't surprise me at all. Last season, when the penalty should have been applied, a 10 point deduction would have seen them drop. But thanks to there being 3 truly shit teams up there this season, the PL can be seen to be doing something about the rule breaking without having to deal with the fallout of their action resulting a 'big' club like Everton being relegated. The whole thing stinks.

I'm not claiming you have tried to silence me, and I'm not 'playing the victim', I'm just pointing out the serious flaws in your arguments and lack of balanced judgement and unwillingness to learn more about a sensitive issue. If you think that's me exceeding the point of being polite and reasonable then I would suggest you are the one playing the victim here, not me. I'm not asking you to believe something that someone feels is true, I'm asking you to read the empirical research that contradicts your unfounded opinion. Not the same thing at all. To flatly refuse to do that, and to continue to express an opinion that is not supported by the available evidence, is indicative of prejudice on your part even if you do not acknowledge it yourself. So I'm sorry if you think my last paragraph was impolite and unreasonable, but considering you have a responsibility to moderate comments on this board that could be construed as discriminatory to minority groups, I find your lack of judgement on this issue troubling.

You really have no clue what you're on about do you. Firstly, I suggest you do some reading around some of the empirical research into the issue to understand the contributing factors to the suicidality rate. I shared a load with you yesterday but you dismissed it all because you didn't like the site they were posted on instead of actually following the links. That tells me that you have no interest in actually understanding the issue and are quite happy to continue to make a fool of yourself by making absurd and, frankly, insulting assumptions about the mindset of all suicidal trans people. Secondly, how exactly does SOG's example prove your point? Has it not occurred to you that this person might have known for many years that they were trans but had never felt comfortable or confident to come out because of fear of stigmatisation / rejection (and the kind of ignorant judgement from society that you yourself are showing)? And that having to live in the closet for so many years (likely since childhood) could possibly have fed into mental health issues in later life? You simply can't make a snap assumption that their dysphoria arose from a preexisting mental health condition and not vice versa from a few lines on a forum post. The fact that you would even suggest that makes you look like an ignorant fool with a total lack of cultural awareness around the issue. Frankly, I would expect much better from a mod. How could any trans forum user trust that you are making good judgements on what posts are and are not acceptable on this topic when you are displaying an alarming degree of prejudice about it?
