And now JWP in the book as well. Two bookings in the first 10 minutes!

Danso booked already? What for?

Sparing a thought for Bury FC and its fans

I'm not sure that's really the issue. Oldham, Rochdale and Stockport are all just as close to Manchester and they seem able to run themselves properly (that I know of). -
Seems so. No Bertrand in the squad at all, and it looks like PEH will be playing LB. I like the look of our front 4. Plenty of pace in there with Djenepo, Boufal, Redmond and Obafemi. If Fulham's defence is still as bad as it was last season then it could be a goal fest.

No. And neither will Adams.

Very much doubt it. Never usually able to find one for this round of the league cup, unless it's actually being shown by Sky/BT Sports anyway.

Just watched the highlights... Tackle from Andone was shocking. How he could just sit there on Valery after attempting to snap his leg in two and plead innocence is beyond me. Deserves much more than a three match ban for that. Peach of a finish from Djenepo, but a noteworthy mention to Ings for the pass to set him up. More of this from both please. The run in behind from Boufal to set up Redmond for the second is the kind of thing we have been missing since Tadic left. Would be great if he could produce that kind of magic on a regular basis. Can't comment on the overall performance as I didn't see it. But an away win against a team we will likely be competing against for league position later in the season is invaluable, and a great way to open our points account. Sounds like our defence wasn't quite as strong as we would like, but it's a clean sheet and something to build on at least.

Got one sorted now. Thanks anyway.

All of these issues were worst case scenario projections. I don't remember anybody seriously saying any of them would definitely happen in the event of a leave vote. And anyway, believe it or not, I didn't vote remain out of fear of what might happen if we left; I voted to remain because I was happy with what we already had and was not in any way convinced by the arguments in favour of leave. Ultimately, nobody actually knew what the actual economic effects would be, so all we had were projections. That's why I based my decision more on social and moral aspects, like environmental protections, worker's rights, scientific cooperation, and the knowledge that my daughter would have the right to live and work anywhere in Europe when she grows up if that's what she chooses. So I won't deny that there were exaggerations and half truths put out by the official remain campaign. But they are dwarfed by the outright, deliberate lies peddled by the leave campaign (£350m for the NHS, Turkey joining the EU etc...), and had no influence whatsoever in my decision to vote the way I did.

The director of Vote Leave even admitted this himself.

In what way was I 'conned and used'? Seriously, how can voting to retain membership of an organisation which I know has been overwhelmingly beneficial to me and my country be described as being 'conned and used'? The leave campaign peddled a pack of absolute lies in order to get public support for their ultra-right wing enrichment project, with the promise of 'only positive' benefits of leaving and 'sunlit uplands' having negotiated the easiest deal in history with the EU before triggering Article 50. Three years down the line and it's glaringly obvious that the reality of the situation bears no resemblance whatsoever to the fantasy that was sold in the 2016 referendum. Yet so many people who were taken in by it still cannot or will not accept that they were hoodwinked into voting for a turkey. "It is easier to fool someone than to convince them they have been fooled." - Mark Twain. Never a truer word said.

Anybody know if Sheff Utd is likely to reach general sale? It's probably going to be the only game I'll make it to this season, so I'm loathe to fork out an extra £45 for membership just for the sake of one game.
-
Maybe we should instruct Long to 'do a Vardy' on him.
-
The first two lines of that made me think of Ganga Kru's Super Sharp Shooter. Would be very appropriate if he was a striker I guess.

Was that the infamous 4-3 game where we were 3-0 up at half time and Paul Rideout scored a 2nd-half hattrick for Tranmere?

Listen live here, if you've got nothing better to do. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/football/49282302

The Benny Hill theme tune? Would be very appropriate for our defence!

Paper is biodegradable. Plastic is not. The cups can be recycled at specialist centres. The lids are made from recycled plastic.

I love VAR already!

Adam Leitch's tweet confirms the delay is on the Augsburg side. But hey, you keep bashing our club for it if it makes you feel better.

If I make a prediction of who will surprise me most, then it won't actually be a surprise will it!

Sorry but I have to disagree. Regardless of the origin of the name, it is most definitely recognised as their official (and only, outside of Southampton) nickname. https://www.football-stadiums.co.uk/articles/club-nicknames/#league-one Definitely agree about the last bit though

Interesting that nobody has mentioned our fishy neighbors yet. I'd say their nickname is at least as widely used as ours, if not more.

You need to get your facts right Ducky. The mural depicted four men meant to represent key figures from the world of global banking, only two of whom happened to be Jewish. The artist himself confirmed this. It was a protest against the way that these men have influenced global politics for their own financial gain, and their ethnicity and/or religion have nothing to do with it.

Yeah that's pretty much my take on it. He was hoping to attract a big club to sign him, but it seems he hasn't done enough to earn that yet. But the interview that was put out a few weeks back didn't suggest he had refused to play for us or anything as drastic as that. If nothing happens between now and the end of the window then hopefully he will have the awareness needed to recognise he will have to buckle down and perform for us more consistently if he wants to get his big move.
