  1. Wanyama not at the races today which is frustrating because there is a lot of space in midfield due to their high-pressing game, and simply having Fox on the pitch is inviting a lot of pressure down our left. We need to change things at half time to get a foothold in this game.
  2. Norwich pressing high up the pitch and we can't seem to exploit the space in behind the pressing players in midfield.
  3. Off the post from Lallana!
  4. FK in a dangerous position. JWP standing over it.
  5. Wanyama dispossessed far too easily there.

  7. Seems like we are settling into the formation a little better now. Slowly building up more pressure on them.
  8. Nice little move there to put Osvaldo in but marginally offside.
  9. Definitely should have been a penalty. Webb was looking straight at it from a few yards away as well. Shocking.
  10. Norwich are pressing high up the pitch and preventing us from passing the ball out of our half. Shout for a handball there?
  11. Finally a decent spell of possession results in a half-chance for us.
  12. Oh FFS Fox. Another pathetic attempt at a tackle puts us in trouble again. Surely a half-fit Shaw would still be a better option.
  13. Really haven't got into our stride yet. Can't pinpoint why but we can't seem to string 3 passes together at the moment.
  14. Clumsy tackle from Fox gives them a FK in a dangerous position
  15. Redmond carved us open there. Not a good sign.

  17. And you accuse me and pap of childishness?
  18. In a civilian area - therefore a war crime. Just because one is labelled a WMD and the other is not, that makes it OK does it? The infliction of death and suffering on the civilian population is alright as long as the weapon used doesn't have an arbitrary definition under international law? You accuse pap of being biased against the US (which as far as I can tell was not the point he has tried to make), yet your blinkered insistence on defending the actions of the US at all costs says more about your own narrow-vision than it does about anybody else's opinions.
  19. Why? Both are classified as chemical weapons and as such their use, specifically in civilian areas, is classed as a war crime. Do you or do you not condemn the use of chemical weapons against civilian populations? If you do then you should be just as indignant about the US using them in Iraq and the Israelis using them in Gaza as you are about somebody, the identity of whom has yet to be proven, using them in Syria.
  20. You may all find this interesting as well. Testimony from a US General from 2007 that Bush and his neo-cons planned to attack Syria as far back as 2001... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ha1rEhovONU

  22. Was listening to him on the radio news the other day and I remember commenting to my GF along the lines "Do you reckon he talks to his wife like that?" I used to have a modicum of respect for him when he was the opposition leader because he always carried himself well against Blair at PMQs. These days he's just a smug tosser parroting his party line every time he opens his mouth.
  23. I particularly like one of the comments where the poster describes our academy situation as a 'virtuous circle'. He's right. Because of the successes in recent years of the likes of Bale, Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain; and because of our willingness to put our academy players into the first team, lots of kids (and more importantly, their parents) are going to look at what our academy has achieved and be more inclined to sign up with us if they have a choice of clubs to go to. That will only benefit us in the long run because it means we can pretty much pick and choose from the best available talent in our catchment area. I was visiting my girlfriend's family in Cumbria at the weekend, and her 10-year-old nephew is in the Everton youth setup (doing very well by all accounts). Even at his young age he acknowledges the success of our academy and said he would happily join us if he lived anywhere near Southampton. Although as one of the pompey fans on that thread mentioned, Everton also have a habit of turning up some gems from their academy.
  24. Indeed. This film was made in 1976, and it is even more relevant today than it was then.
  25. For some reason it reminds me of this...
