Indeed. Mavadidi, Ayew, Skipp, Winks, Daka... they are all experienced players that should be able to beat a team of kids.

We look so much better overall without Archer on the pitch. Please, Tonda, never play him again. I know we need to try and recoup some of what we paid for him somehow, but he's utterly hopeless and not fit to wear the shirt.

It takes a special kind of uselessness to be worse than he was on Tuesday.

He just does absolutely nothing off the ball. Makes it so easy for players to past him and then just gives up. Utter waste of a shirt. And that miss 🤦

He's never going to is he. He's got a tidy finish on him when he can get into shooting positions, but the rest of his game is piss poor.

Well at least we haven't gifted them a 3-0 lead this time. Bragg and Matsuki looking decent, and good to see Edozie getting involved well and winning the penalty. I would suggest hooking Archer at HT cos he's been hopeless again, but I doubt Larin can play a full 90 yet so I expect he will be subbed first.

Seems the players are treating it with similar contempt. Neither team had a shot on or off target yet. And as I type that, Ayew hits a very tame header straight at Long.

And as sure as night follows day, the first round of "3-0 and you fucked it up" rings around St Mary's.

Happy to see both Sesay and Williams involved. Sesay looked good in pre-season, and Williams didn't disgrace himself at all in his one half that he's played this season (can't remember what game that was now).

Looks like a good old 442 to me, with Edozie and Matsuki on the wings with a little and large partnership up front.

According to Tonda, we absolutely had to persist with the back 3/5 as long as we did because injuries forced his hand. By his own logic, not having a striker fit enough to start in the physical no.9 role in our current 4231 should dictate a change of system entirely. To try and play that again with Archer up front would be beyond stupid.

Well then I sincerely hope Tonda took notes from Tuesday and doesn't try to play him in the same role again. He can be effective, but not in the system that was deployed in the first half at the King Power.

I'm not entirely convinced that was deliberate, but willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.
