  1. Does seem odd. He probably would have handed himself in as well. Though maybe they wanted to make a thing of it.
  2. Still gives me shudders to think how close we were to a Murdoch fully owned Sky. Such dominance of our media market would have been unrivalled and perhaps unsurpassable.
  3. It all seems to reinforce the idea that Cameron doesn't have very good judge of character. I really do want to know the conversation between Cameron and Coulson which convinced Cameron he is was an upstanding chap of the highest integrity. This scandal just goes on and on.
  4. Interesting they keep stressing how this isn't the end. Perhaps there is a bigger web at work here. They must think someone else is involved.
  5. I think we should wait for this to conclude before trying to point things out in retrospective or clambering to say you always knew it was them. Remember the landlord in the Joanna Yeates case? It's much better not to speculate when you aren't in possession of the full facts or evidence.
  6. It's utterly ridiculous given the apparent state of their game vs. UEFA's supposed policies. They should not be rewarded. There are tonnes of countries in Europe without endemic racism as part of their football game who are more deserving.
  7. Annoying. There is a time and a place for these protests and today is not that day. All it does is distract from the issue at hand which is the media's relationship with politics. Reminds me of when Nick Robinson broke that Iraq war protester's sign in half.
  8. I love/hate penalties. They should stay, nothing beats the drama of them.
  9. I sense this is an argument that will go round and round and round. How about we just agree to disagree and let others also do the same, choose whether they want to support it or not.
  10. If it was taken out of the womb, it wouldn't survive.
  11. Very early signs of some, yes.
  12. It wouldn't survive outside the womb though. I believe life begins when the brain kicks in properly which I believe is where the current limit lies.
  13. Death isn't when your heart stops. It's much more complex than that.
  14. I don't know. But other people do have educated opinions, and I trust them. When do you think life begins and why?
  15. Not really. As you and I clearly disagree over when life begins. I don't revel in abortions. I just believe the choice should be there for those who want to take it... or not.
  16. It is ridiculous, yes... but that is human rights sometimes. It produces a few cases we don't like, but we must put up with them because human rights are so important.
  17. That's true, but if you believe in the utter sanctity of life(as I and Alpine do, our argument is over when life begins), you have to respect a murderers life as much as an innocent child's. That is what rights are about. Sometimes it isn't nice, but no exceptions.
  18. I knew you'd say that. But if you believe life starts at conception as you do, and you believe that the right to life is absolutely sacred(as I do as well as you), you must also value everyone's right to it equally regardless of circumstance. Stop acting like pro-choice people want abortions and have glee in it, it's all about the choice.
  19. I think I agree with this. The choice must be there for people whether I would want to do it myself or not. I don't know what the process of getting an abortion is, but I wouldn't want it to ever be too easy to do it though. Proper advice must be given and time to think it over.
  20. I find it strange that you are in favour of the death penalty, yet you give so much weight to an unborn embryo. A bit of consistency would be nice. And you are using extreme cases. Most abortions are extremely tough decisions and are not taken lightly because of some '**** up 9 months before'. And what qualifies you to say that women today are moral trash compared to your generation's women. What a load of nastalgic rubbish. You are simplifying and demeaning what is an awful decision for anyone to have to make and one I wish I never have to. edit: I don't think any pro-choicer finds pleasure in the idea of an abortion or see's it as 'good' as you seem to indicate, but just something that sadly sometimes happens due to certain circumstances.
  21. What do you mean by benefits level? All benefits including housing etc... because JSA is definitely not higher than what you can get on the minimum wage. Nowhere near it.
  22. What a ridiculous idea. I do wonder sometimes re the Vatican's position, what they think about the billions of sperm which never make it... given their extreme position on condoms and so on.
  23. It is ending a potential life, yes... there is no doubt about that, it's fact. And I wouldn't want to belittle or simplify what is an incredibly hard decision for anyone who has to take it. However, I maintain my view that it is a fundamental right of a woman to be able to have an abortion if she chooses.
  24. Doesn't look like your sweepstake was too popular. However, I agree with you 100%. I can't imagine how much of a tough decision it must be for those who are forced to take it.
