I personally don't think there is a cat in hells chance we land this Armenian player. Sounds like agent bullshit to get the bigger clubs that have shown interest to jump. I will be absolutely amazed if he ends up here, he has had interest from a host of clubs playing at a higher level than we now find ourselves.

Brilliant win by the Lionesses, that never say die spirit that has been there since game 2 of the tournament has seen them incredibly retain their crown when multiple times they looked dead and buried. As we all know in football the best footballing team do not always win. Spain were the better footballing side but a mixture of poor finishing and excellent defending by England made sure we were still there to take it to penalties. I must admit my heart sunk when the first one had to be retaken and the retake was saved but what was i worrying about. Up stepped the brilliant Hampton to make those saves and then the star girl Chloe Kelly stepped forward to blast the last spot kick home and send millions around the country into delirium. WOW what a womens team we have, couldn't be prouder of them.

Well we didn't deserve a draw, Castellon were by far the better side. They totally bossed the game, squeezed our play and made our players rush their passes often straight to a Castellon player. Really difficult to judge many Saints players on that performance but Baz was easily our best player which in itself is very worrying. We could not hold onto the ball, we offered nothing as an attacking unit and our strikers had nothing but scraps to feed off. I was hoping to start to see the impact of our new manager but all i saw was the same shit from the same players as last season.

This Castellon side have beaten Real Zaragoza, Valencia and QPR 6-0 in the last couple of weeks, they are no mugs and definately the sort of workout i'm sure Saints would have wanted. Without Baz we would already be looking like another scalp for Castellon.

Its fantastic that we have sold out all the tickets for the first home game of the season, incredible when you think about what performances we put up with last season. I just hope we really have a team to be excited about come kick off . At present it does feel very underwhelming and i can only hope we have targets lined up that will only be released once bigger teams have their replacements in. I must admit being linked to players no one has ever heard off is doing nothing for my confidence.

I must admit any confidence i had for the season coming is actually fast evaporating. Badly bloated squad full of mediocre players bar 4 players. The goalkeeper position is a real concern unless by some miracle we hold onto Ramsdale. I know some will say we got promoted with Baz and McCarthy last time but that was pure luck, we really almost shot ourselves in the foot. The defence is terrible and god knows what our owners were smoking when they gave Captain Jack a new contract. If we lose Fernandez and Tyler then we really are in trouble. Up top i'm not convinced AA really wants to still be here, BBD is a one trick pony that should have been put down. The Lockness Drogba is just a massive gamble whatever way you look at it. The new fella may be decent but i've never heard of him and it smacks of us trying to be cheap and clever (Hope he turns out to be the new RL)

I think you will find it is the players that will be the ones playing the football and who's match fitness matters not whoever their manager is!

I know a lot of people are already writing of leicester because of a possible points deduction plus losing players etc, however they kicked off their preseason today, 1 week ahead of us! The result matters not, apparently thet won 3-1 but no idea who they played. They are obviously trying to get in the best shape as possible for another go at getting promoted first time of asking.

Dibling is a rare talent and has to be managed correctly. He is a shy individual who doesn't gravitate towards the bright lights. He was absolutely miserable during his time at Chelsea. If we look after this lad properly Saints will benefit massively and anyone that doesn't see this needs a reality check. I really hope we do not sell him and to be honest he will only go if the price is right and more importantly he wants to leave, and i don't believe he wants to go anywhere.

Wrexham will be really up for this riding the crest of a wave. We need to be sooooo different from last season otherwise it could be an embarrassing start to the season.

Tadic is not coming back to England, he could not wait to leave. He was sick and tired of the physical side of English football. Does anyone seriously think he would fair any better in the Championship. I've posted before about someone i know who knew Tadic very well during his stint at Saints and who Tadic personally told his reason for leaving Saints and the UK was the physicality of the league. That person on the day Tadic left the UK drove him to the airport in Tadics car and was given the keys and the car to keep!

If fans were being honest with themselves i would not be surprised if 99% of Saints fans thought we were favourites to be relegated before a ball was kicked last season. I said it myself right at the start we were going down with such a weak team and a manager that had no game B plan. Every team buys players that are not at the quality they need immediately but hope they become those players within a season of buying them, we are no different. I said it the season we won promotion under Martin, i honestly don't think the club planned for automatic promotion that first season and thought season 2 would be more realistic. It didn't work out that way and we had too many Championship players on long contracts that we couldn't shift. Also add into the mix and this is the biggest mistake of the lot, we had a management team that was completely inept at running a tea fund let alone a professional football club! I really hope major lessons have been learnt. Unless players have something in their contracts that allow them to walk away for below market value (eg. Aaron Ramsdale) then we stay firm and either don't sell or hold out for big money. We don't have to sell either Dibling or Fernandez and our team should be built around these two. The bar has been set by the sale off the Bellingham brother who has NO Premiership experience and is nowhere near the qaulity of either Fernandez or Dibling. I accept Dibling fell away second half of the season but anyone can see this lad is absolute quality and could go on to be a brilliant player if managed correctly. I live in hope the new management team will not make the same awful mistakes their predecessors did!

As far as i'm concerned nothing has changed since i posted this in January. I would be very surprised if he left!

This is a good start, now we need to ship out the dross, keep hold of talented players and bring in more athletic and physical players. I want to see us have a side that bullies other teams for once!

Onuachu is off back to Turkey and it is just a matter of Saints squeezing out as much as they can for him. Anyone that thinks he would fit STILL's high press, high energy type of game is deluded.
