You could be right, of course it is all subjective. However if you look at what Nigel Adtkins did for us with promotions only to be replaced rather quickly into our return to the Premier League. Was Adtkins harshly sacked at the time. I remember much of the fanbase being shocked the man that had delivered promotion was treated the way he was. However one might say it was ultimately the correct decision because some managers are like some players and their ceiling is the Championship. All i really know for definite is i'm well past caring anymore!

In general i would totally agree with you. However my son is a football agent in South America and the stories he tells me about agents that really do not have their players welfare at heart and just look for a big potential payday. My son will not move any player on his books to a club (or recommend it to the player) unless he genuinely believes the move will long term benefit the player.

I have posted before that i have a very good friend that is close to the Dibling family and that he firmly believes from what he has been told that both Tyler and his parents want him to stay at Saints and sign a new contract. The issue appears to be the agent who is gunning for a big pay day. Saints are under no pressure to sell, Tyler knows he is starting virtually every game for Saints (which is what he wants). He is a very quiet young man that is very close to his family and friends. Even if we go down a season in the Championship will not harm him, to be honest he is likely to develop even more. Keep the faith that he might just stay beyond this season!

They have the not only the benefit of being a very good inform team but they also have the extra benefit of 2 extra rest days. We were dead on our feet yesterday after 70 minutes. Forest will murder us!

I watched the Swansea game and found it difficult to believe that our side can suddenly transform into a battling Premiership team. We now have a reasonable settled defence but our midfield is paper thin and our attack absolutely useless. I am not reading anything into our win against a terrible Swansea team. I can see nothing but a 4 or 5-0 win for a United side now starting to click.

Goztepe don't need Joachim SANDA, they are doing very nicely with our other players we sent them! Won 5-0 this evening, Juan scored and Matsuki got an assist

i will give Sully that you can only beat what is in front of you and he did well against an absolute shit Swansea. I am not convinced by one reasonable performance by him. He has been appalling in pretty much every game he has ever featured in and to gloss over this just because he was reasonable against a makeshift Swansea defence would be very foolish. I would love hime to prove us all wrong and show us all he is the next best thing but i'm telling you now he is no Premiership player! There is a reason the club have him up for sale!!!
-
lets remember Pompey in the bottom 4 of the Championship beat this lot 4-0. Swansea are awful and we are just a bit better!

In over 50 years of following Saints i have never felt so MEH about Saints and football in general. I've been choosing to go out with the wife shopping, for a walk or some distant friends party as an excuse not to watch Saints. I've gone way past the angry stage......I just don't care anymore.

I absolutely detest MUSK. He is an absolute bellend and a bloody dangerous one at that. I wouldnt be quite so concerned about him had he not had the ear of another equally total bellend in Trump!

Not expecting any Christmas miracles today. It will take the new guy a few weeks (which we don't have) to get the players proper match fit for his brand of football. I am at least encouraged enough by our efforts in the last game that i will watch this afternoon to see what differences there are. Think Wet Spam will be too strong for us unfortunately.

finding it really difficult to get excited about a new manager, none of the names mentioned excite me in the slightest. It kinda sums up my whole feeling about Saints and football right now.

I have a close friend that knows Tyler and the Dibling family very well. By all accounts Tyler is a very level headed lad who values friends and family first and foremost and who is a very quiet lad. I totally agree with the above that this sounds like agent bollocks just trying to squeeze more out of Saints at a time where the club would be desperate not to lose their prized asset.

I've have been mainly numb this season. The heavy defeats in past seasons ruined my weekends and i was so angry with the players (rarely the manager). I watched the first half last night and was mainly laughing, yes laughing at how bad we were against a makeshift Spurs. I just felt nothing towards my team i have supported for well over 50 years. I said to my wife at 0-3 down RM would be gone at full time, i just knew the way he walked down the tunnel before the whistle had even gone that he knew he was already sacked. I hold no bad feelings towards RM because last season was mainly very enjoyable with a brilliant finale. This season he has been found out to be a one trick pony that most teams had worked out how to play against when we were in the Championship. I do hold bad feelings towards our inept board who allowed such awful transfers and owners that allowed a board that clearly have no idea to stay in charge for so long. The players need to take a long hard look at themselves. Some i would be happy to never see kick a ball professionally again.
-
I think you have it pretty much right. I have no doubt whoever eventually replaces RM will have been told that they MUST play the current style of football but with better results. Basically coach the errors out of the team that there are currently and turn them into a goal scoring machine. I know Christmas is approaching but i for one don't believe in miracles!!
-
you may be absolutely correct and if that is the case then nothing they have done since makes any sense at all

There must be a point where the owners accept that we are relegated and that a change of manager will make no change at all. I honestly thought before a ball was kicked this season we would be relegated and i honestly think a change in manager now will not change that. Do i think we will appoint a new manager? Well i didn't until last weekend and heard RM's prematch comments and his comments after the game. Now i think a change is coming but who and on what basis god only knows. If we are to believe the rumours that the Man City number 2 was lined up then this only further confirms the owners want any manager coming in to play the same style of football. I actually think the owners did not expect us to be promoted at the first time of asking (we were not one of the best 3 sides in the Championship) I think the plan for Southampton is a long term one with whoever is the manager being asked to play a certain way (I believe RM was chosen as manager because of how his teams play and he is playing the system asked of him) We just clearly do not have the players to play it. For me this season is a combination of the board already accepting we were promoted a season too early and with too many Championship players on long contracts. So many of our transfers say "this player will be perfect for a promotion push in the Championship". It's a bloody depressing state of affairs for us fans but i am desperately trying to see inside whatever the bigger picture is.

Cooper.....Really, FFS is that how low we have sunk?

Saints 2-3 Liverpool - Match Thread
BARCELONASAINT replied to Weston Super Saint's topic in The Saints
This is the first season in well over 50 years that i have pretty much stopped watching Saints. I've watched maybe 4 games this season and that was enough to convince me its not worth ruining my weekends by watching Saints. I didn't watch the game yesterday and when i looked at the final score i didn't feel anything, that's pretty much what Saints have done to me! -
an easy win for Wolves i'm afraid. We concede far too many goals and struggle massively to score. Wolves are a much better side than us and i just cannot see them failing to get their first league win of the season.
-
I decided to watch it and thought we deserved our bit of luck at the end. I do wish some people would just enjoy our first league win of the season rather than slate the team and say it was a crap performance. It wasn't exactly exciting, it was very patient. It only really livened up once Dibling came on. Enjoy the 3 pts everyone

Seeing where you are going for the game tonight i reckon you could make it to the UK in time for the Saints game tomorrow. Straight after the game pop down to the beach with a dingy and paddle out to the English 12 mile limit and get a free lift by Border Force to Ramsgate, from there jst thumb a lift to Southampton. Good chance of making kickoff!
-
I didn't watch the game against City last week and instead spent the afternoon with the wife. Watched the midweek Cup game and wished i had been with the wife instead. (She was in Liverpool on a works jolly) At the moment i'm leaning towards spending the afternoon with the wife again tomorrow.

haha Liverpool

confidence is very low, you can see it in players. Ramsdale is starting to look wobbly and i don't blame him with the defence he has in front of him. Sugawara is another that appears to be conflicted. Is he having his natural game coached out of him? Downes has looked so ordinary and half the player he was last season. Fernandez is excellent but starting to look a very frustrated player. There is so little to be confident about. I cannot see anything but a bad loss.
