  1. I will be gobsmacked if we are remotely interested in this guy Soules. If i remember rightly despite what Saints said at the end of last season that we were financially sound and didn't have to sell any players the complete opposite was true. We had to sell to balance the books and remain within FF rules. If this indeed is the case then what has suddenly changed that means we have circa £25 million for one player.......without having to sell first!! If we by some miracle we have got this sort of money to spend I wouldn't be buying another foreign player that could take 2 seasons to settle! Spend the money on someone like CLARKE from Sunderland who is dynamite, he terrorises defences with his wing play and i doubt Sunderland could afford to turn down a substantial offer!
  2. Look don't get me wrong, a fit and fully committed to the cause Danny Ings would be great for any Championship side, the guy on his day is special and should tear defenders in our league a "new one". However IS there any actual hard proof we are 1/ In the market for another striker and 2/ any actual facts we are remotely interested in Ings So far with just over 10 days before the window opens all i have seen is a lot of guess work and adding 2+2=5 going on.
  3. All this talk of Danny Ings possibly returning and seeing how many would welcome his return (I'm personally not convinced) has got me thinking....do we really need another striker or do we need more creativity?? Personally i just don't think we create enough chances for our strikers week in week out (and this has been the theme for at least 3 seasons now) Our wingers and attacking CM players have been very lacking in creation and scoring and we certainly on paper have the players that should be contributing a dam site more than they are. We could have Ings back but it will mean bugger all if he does not get the service. Personally i want to see creativity with an end product. Don't be surprised if it's these areas we address!
  4. My concerns about Ings being linked with a possible return are, did he leave Saints on good terms?? If he did not then i would be surprised if there is any truth in the rumour. Was he a disruptive influence in the dressing room by the time he left?? Again if he was i would be very surprised if there is any truth to the rumour. We have a squad that appear all onboard with what's being asked of them and we don't appear to have any "Billy big bollocks" players in the squad that could be a disruptive influence. Ings in his prime was brilliant for us but i have some niggling concerns about him now.
  5. Don't think even the most critical Saints fans can moan about this start. Very bright attacking start, really quick passing and pressing, Edozie having a great start
  6. I've managed to watch practically every Saints game this season via the Net and on the whole really enjoyed it. It's been much better than watching us get beat every week in the Prem. However if i was paying to go and watch the games i do wonder if I would be so content!!!
  7. Alcaraz has all the ability to be a big player but so far he has been a huge disappointment. Sully is a headless chicken. I honestly don't think either player is suited to English football
  8. Alcaraz has been a major disappointment for me so far this season. He has the ability to be a top player at this level but his performances have been patchy at best. I really like the lad and am desperate for him to show us all that he is the player we believe can win us games.....at the moment he just isn't!
  9. I have no idea if we want another striker and it could be that if we do that we already have someone ready to come in.....who knows! Regarding Sully, he's injured and he really in my opinion has done nothing to warrant a Premier league side coming in for him, he can't score for toffee (fits in well with current squad!) and his decision making is woeful. If he can't do it week in week out in the Championship then i doubt he can in the Premiership. You could also say the same thing about Alcaraz who has totally flattered to deceive (and i really like both players and hope they come good)
  10. I have spoken to my son again and apparently we are not currently looking for a striker.....read into that what you want, either we have already secured one or they are happy with what we have and feel no need for another.
  11. my son is a football agent/scout, for obvious reasons he gets to know what positions we are looking for. His main market is South America and USA
  12. we are a decent side that can outplay most sides in this division but we are lacking the one thing that turns dominance into maximum points week in week out......we have an awful conversion rate and it's not just our strikers. I will leave Adama out of this as he's the one player scoring but my god the rest of the so called front players and attacking midfielders really let us down and it is no surprise that i hear our recruitment side are looking for a winger and an attacking mifielder!!
  13. I'm at sea so if anyone has a decent stream for this game please let me know.
  14. West Brom 1 -1 Leicester
  15. I have great hopes for Sully and keep reminding myself of Sadio Mane when he first came to the club. I think everyone can see Sully has bags of potential and now and again he has shown flashes of the player we believe we bought. Right now i am a little disappointed in him BUT am quietly optimistic he will develop into a very exciting player who will destroy defences at this level.
  16. Totally agree it should have been a pen and Baz got lucky. However it's just not true to say he wouldn't have got away with it in the Prem. Jesus they have VAR and still totally screw up!!! Three Premier League officials at the centre of a decision not to award a penalty to Wolves at Manchester United have been overlooked for this weekend's matches. Wolves were denied a late penalty on Monday when United keeper Andre Onana crashed into Sasa Kalajdzic and failed to make contact with the ball. United won 1-0 at Old Trafford. Wolves boss Gary O'Neil said elite referees manager Jon Moss told him he "could not believe" the error. It is also understood referees' chief Howard Webb, who is head of the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL), contacted Wolves officials after the match to apologise.
  17. from what i've read Northampton fans are absolutely gutted to be losing him. He was very highly thought off and they believe we have got ourselves a very good man. Good luck to him and lets hope this is a very positive appointment.
  18. Lovely first half to watch. My only disappointment is this game has not been totally put to bed, we should be out of sight really. If VAR had been in play it would be likely be 1-1, Our first is arguably offside and Baz absolutely clattered their lad, penalty every day off the week.
  19. fucking get in Bazzzzzzzzzzzzz
  20. some absolute bloody tools on here blaming Baz for either goal

The human race really is fucked up. We deserve to be wiped off the face of this planet. As humans we appear to have learnt nothing as we continue to try and destroy our home and each other. The arguments over who is right and who is wrong is baffling......they (we) are killing one another, it's wrong on all fronts full stop.
  22. Absolute bloody tosh, the amount of goalkeeper critics on here that do not have a bloody clue about goalkeeping but think they are experts is ridiculous. Saints threw the kid into the lions den last year and i'm surprised by his mental strength that he has come through it. There is barely a goal this season that we have conceded that can be levelled against him. The prejudice of what happened last season has rolled over into this season for too many fans that need to move on from last season. This is a new season and Baz has done very little wrong so far. He is more than adequate to be our number one keeper at this level.
  23. I have watched the last 2 games abroad in Venezuela as i'm visiting my son who lives and works out here. It has been weird watching our game against Leeds at 7:30 am by the swimming pool and then watching an evening game against a dirty Stoke side at 3pm in the afternoon! I was totally depressed about Saints before I arrived but the last 2 results have been good for the soul. The team are starting to click and Martin is at last playing his strongest side. Last night (afternoon) was good to watch, the way the lads coped with a dirty Stoke side that really tried it on with the ref. We coped and we fought for one another. Praise where praise is due, i thought the defence did a great job really fighting for everything. There are some nice partnerships developing, THB and Bednarek are looking good together, Downes was excellent and Smallbone did his part in that midfield partnership. I have got to say i do like Shea Charles, he is very composed and is going to be very important for us. Great goal by Stu, so pleased for him, really like him as a player and another i think will be very important for us. Sully scares the crap out of defenders, he has electric pace. He will get better and better of that i have no doubt. Well done Saints, win on Saturday and i might just have to stay out here !
  24. I think my last sentence spelled it out very clearly " Baz is not this seasons problem at all, it's our awful defence."
  25. fans scapegoat 2022/23, 2023/24 never mind the piss awful defenders in front of him that are responsible for giving away these chances to the opposition. Baz is not this seasons problem at all, it's our awful defence.
