I wasn't trying to criticise Pardew. I was very sorry to see AP go at the time and there is no doubting he has done a great job at Newcastle. I was merely speculating, the club might have learnt a lesson from the Puncheon signing and looked more closely at character profiling afterwards.

I'm guessing this character profiling was not part of the Pardew set up? If it was we surely wouldn't have the Puncheon situation now?

Bruce Grobbelaar got away with trying to match fix games. They even had video evidence of him talking to someone saying how he pushed the ball into the net in a match he played for us against Coventry. If he can get away with that then I'm pretty sure this will come to nothing.

All our offers seem to be around the 6 million mark. If they are true, we do seem to be flashing the cash a little. Obviously this is just a rumour but most of the rumours lately seem to suggest we have big money to spend. Of course it means nothing if we don't actually land the target or we do and then find out we were over priced. Players seem to be very expensive these days, there is hardly a bargin to be had anywhere, not even in the lower leagues. With todays prices being what they are, I'd say Rickie Lambert was an absolute bargin at 1 million, even a few years ago that was good value. I do wonder how much we intend to spend in this transfer window?

I'm pretty sure the Davis situation will get sorted, otherwise the club would have pulled the articles about him signing on the os. The Buttner deal seems to be another matter. Probably something to do with a either a greedy player or agent. If its the player then I'll be happy for the club to move on to another target.

At the moment I am guessing no. Not until he has been granted temporary clearance from FIFA while their investigation takes place into Rangers' appeal for compensation. As far as we know so far he doesn't even have temporary clearance yet.
