  1. It's an utterly sobering situation isn't it. I very rarely post on the mainboard, mainly because the opinions are usually so polarised that trying to hold a sensible debate is almost impossible, but right now i feel compelled to post and get a few things off my chest. What matters most? Watching Saints in the top flight or watching saints. When I look back at when I first started following the saints, it only seemed to matter that we were playing big teams, not in the actual top league itself. I was more in love with the saturday football experience, I still am. Ive been thinking long and hard this morning, lots of "what if" scenarios, and you know what, I couldnt give a **** what league we play in, and I honestly mean that. If we go into administration and lose our squad, I wont feel less for the club, i'll love it more. Like a loved one that's sick, you appreciate them more when they are down on their luck. What matters to me is watching 11 men in red and white (well, 10 and the keeper) on a saturday afternoon trying to scrape out a win. Yes, being in the premiership was great, but did it mean less when the money wasn't there? If things go as we expect, we're all going to have to all take a long hard look at what we really follow saints for, and im sure 99.9% of us will come to the same conclusion, it's my town/team, I love them and I'll follow them. Of course, gates will be lower, but only on reflection of the league and opposition, but the fans will remain, even if they don't put their bums in seats. Its The Saints, it'll always be The Saints no matter what league we play in, I will always love the club, no matter what league we play in. If this is the pain we have to go through to get OUR club back, then so be it. Come on you reds.
  2. Got a meeting in 5 mins, so wanted to make sure it was closed before midday, bad luck n all that.
  3. Hmm, having read a brief overview of autism, I would say he has none of the symptoms, he has no social-interaction problems, no repetitive behviour and his language is more than fine.
  4. Autistic or artistic? lol No, appreciate you're not trying to be funny. To be honest, his attitudes are identical to mine when I was his age, not too sure what symptoms of austism are but he doesnt seem any different from his cousins (the only other kids i spend enough time around to know exactly what they are like).
  5. I write tunes, I dont draw, im **** at drawing, really really ****
  6. Ive got to take a mate to stanstead and will be back about 5pm, if traffic is clear, ill be there.
  7. Tried the paper thing before, he just sobbed cos his feet were covered in paint...
  8. Completely agree.
  9. If the class wasnt so good, and the teachers so nice, i would have just said "my child is bi-lingual and has better maths skills that kids older than him, so ****ing what if he wont draw"
  10. I asked teacher how he's getting on with his spelling, numbers and writing "oh, they don't do that til they start school, we just do a bit". So I guess we should relax a little on his spoken and written language and let me concentrate on the namby pampy ****, even tho he likes what he likes.
  11. He says he doesn't do it because "I can't do it, it looks rubbish", despite the fact we pour praise on him when he does, very rarely, come home with a painting. Need to do more at home with him I guess. Christ, he even plays 'my first scrabble' but probably wouldnt know what to do with a pencil sharpener!
  12. True. See we don't do any drawing ourselves at home. Both me and the wife loath painting etc, so we just don't do it. I know the old thing of kids copying parents, which is why he's into music, loves playing my guitar, loves number games and spelling etc... I guess I just dont put enough emphasis on stuff I think isn't as academically important, but I guess that's why im not a teacher.
  13. Strictly serious replies please. Been having a chat about my eldest (just turned 4) with his playgroup 'leader' about his development. She's raised concerns on two counts, 1 I think is ok, but 1 that's actually annoyed me. Firstly, she says that he wont participate in activities that he doesn't find interesting, usually puzzles. That's ok I guess, no ones perfect and that obviously need some work. The second thing sorta ****ed me off tho, she said she's concerned because he won't take part in 'craft activities' such as painting and modelling etc. My initial thought was 'so bloody what?', but what does everyone else think? Should I be encouraging my son to take part in drawing lots, messing about with playdoh etc, even tho he doesnt like it. Kristof is a bright kid, even tho he's just 4 he speaks 2 languages, can hold a perfectly good conversation with adults (in english or dutch), knows most of the alphabet, can spell his name, is fine with maths and counting (again in both languages), so he's certainly not a thicky... but I was just wondering what other peoples views were on the whole 'crafts' thing, but also on the participation and concentration which apparently he lacks too.

  18. Just to reiterate something on this thread, none of what I've talked about is illegal, the illegal part is the decryption of the channels, which absolutely will not be discussed on this forum (in fact, contrary to my earlier post don't even PM me).
  19. Would only recommend getting involved with this if you have sound knowledge of a) satellite technology b) internet and firewalls c) unix operating systems you will very quickly become stuck if you try to go this alone thinking its easy, however, there are LOADS of decent forums around to turn to when you do get stuck, but its a VERY steep learning curve

    The G20 Protestors

Because the only other viable method of displaying mass public dissatisfaction with the government (and in turn the G20) is national elections, which will be so diluted by middle-england Daily Mail readers that the strongest voice wont be heard.
  21. dreambox, not dreamcast. And no, the dish isn't big enough to pick up the additional satellites, also, the lnb will not work on all transponders.
