  1. The logitech one looks a winner, thanks millsy, and Richer Sounds currently stocking it for £69
  2. I'm looking to get a dock for the kitchen, so I bought a ****ty thing from Tesco and it was every bit as **** as I had expected, so over to you guys really. I just want fairly decent sound, I dont need anything like clock, radio etc, just decent speakers so I can pop my iphone in it and charge/listen whilst cooking.

    Linux OS

No, but I use Ubuntu. "Better" depends on your definition of how you rate an operating system. Is it more stable and secure? Yes. Does it support as many devices? Pretty much. Would I choose it as an OS over XP? nope...
  4. easier when you've got two. If my youngest (3) wont eat, I just offer the food to his elder brother who will eat anything. The littlest soon wants it back
  5. Ok, well lets take your comment on face value, dealing with the apologies first. Yes, we are genuinely sorry the server ****s up still, believe me it's a bigger pain in the backside to us that it is to the users. Myself and steve are programmers, we arent customer service representatives and neither of us work in general public facing roles, our capacity for politeness extends only as far as the normal persons. However, we are genuinely apologetic. Next to the refunds, which quite frankly is the silliest suggestion to the problem I've heard. Now, bear in mind we run this site not for profit, that means that the vast majority of what we spend goes into the server costs and licences, and money left over is left in reserve to deal with costs that might arise that we arent prepared for, that's just good financial planning. So, if we were to provide everyone with a refund, the result would be a) not enough money to go around (we can hardly ask for a refund for the last year from the hosting company) b) paying out what saintsweb can afford to our users and folding the company. Hmm, doesn't seem like a viable "solution" all of a sudden. Or, the other option perhaps, is to continue to try as best we can with the resources (by which I mean, free time) we have available to come up with a solution that will solve the issue. This is what Steve has been working towards for the last few MONTHS. Steve and I talk on a regular basis about the server, and I am completely confident (as would be any other tech savvy person on this forum) that the solution we have lined up with remove any future issues. I'm glad I spent the last 10 minutes typing this reply up, such a valuable use of my time to repeat what has already been said before, and as much as I'd love to explain things further, I've a single parents life to attend to.
  6. Moaning and expected to be taken seriously whilst using insulting monikers for the admins, good work.
  7. As a partly independent response to the new server plans, I have to say that Steve has come up trumps. The new server we will be running, along with "connection speed" it will be sat on is light years ahead of what we have at the moment. To get what we have for the price that steve has negotiated is a bit of a coup, especially given that it will be looked after by a proper systems administrator, as opposed to two programmers who do sys admin as "part" of their day jobs. I for one am excited
  8. Can I also add, that many of the users of this site have mentioned "it was alright on saints forever, why isn't it alright now? Keith ran it off just donations". Two things, firstly this website gets around 6 times the amount of traffic than saintsforever did, and secondly website software has moved on, this forum is generations ahead of the one before. Yes, we could always roll back to that version of the forum, and I could always trade in my car for an original austin allegro.
  9. Ex-News of the World reporter Sean Hoare, who said phone hacking was 'endemic' at the paper, found dead.
  10. Your best bet is to buy a hosting plan with http://www.simpleservers.co.uk/magento_hosting.php Install magento using their menu system then buy a magento book from amazon.
  11. Johnny. To be blunt, pretty much everything that you could do wrong in terms of seo you are doing wrong Email me on hscbaj@hotmail.com and ill talk you through a few things offline. Andy and Nick. The reason PPC is so expensive for you is because the onpage content isnt optimised, therefor google deems it to be less relevent to the keywords you are trying to advertise on, therefore the cost is higher as punishment
  12. The the TTT today was brilliant, more because I enjoyed the tactics of it, especially when (was it HTC?) that dropped one of their best riders at the start and were instantly a man down. Loved the tactics of it all. Thanks for the advice, my brother in law cycles, what i would call, properly. So have picked up a few bits from him. No dont have decent gear to wear at the moment, so will look into that. I have slicks on my MTB at 100psi, feel like rocks. Yeah, I have a track pump I also have a kit on my saddle which just consists of a spare innertube at, well, I dont even know what theyre called, but the things to pop the tyre off! So you're saying I should carry TWO spare inner tubes? As with Badger below, Ill have about £1000 budget, but that has to include my shoes, helmet and some riding gear, so probably looking around the £700-£800 mark, though I dont mind pushing a few quid over that if it's worth it.
  13. Cool. Im selling my motorbike this month and using the money for a roadbike. I converted my MTB to slicks but I cant average more than 15mph. Ive got the fitness and legs from running enough, so cant wait to get on the proper thing
  14. Wow, you're great. Do I really need to point out the difference?!
  15. Ah, 9 per team, ok that makes sense Do many of you on this thread ride? I've started riding for fitness about a month ago and am loving it.
  16. Thank god the for english defence league defending my englishness, thats all I can say.....
  17. Ok, sorry for dumb questions... but if the team drop a rider, but the time is taken for the last rider, then surely they all suffer. Only, this clearly isnt the case and I've not understood something :/
  18. Really enjoyed watching it live today, caught about the first hour and the last hour. Awesome crash at the end, bet that dozy woman in the yellow coat felt a bit stupid after causing it. Whats the deal with tomorrows time trial? How does that work? 20 odd kilometers?
  19. Sounds to me like he's enjoying it plenty. If it's not moaning, why be so insulting towards him?
  20. For someone that has "no time" for him, you certainly do seem to spend a lot of time moaning about him
  21. I love the way you feel so threatened by him, make my sunny day even sunnier
  22. rent it part furnished?!
  23. Having very recently gotten into cycling (as in, doing it myself) a bit more "properly", I'm going to make an effort to watch this properly for the first time. Any tips, points of interest for first time watchers.
  24. Oh dont spout ****. That's the kind of repeated lie that makes what he said way worse. He doesnt 'always hope england lose at sporting events', he made one comment, once, when asked about the world cup, that was it, and hes said plenty of times since it was tongue in cheek.
  25. You missed my point, Giganews now provide a UK based VPN, meaning you can do whatever you want, with no detection.
