Man City win, surely? They are back in contention for the title. They are not our rivals.I have said all along that if we are to improve our league position this season, Everton are one of the teams we have to finish above.
-
We should have got at Arsenal more, they were there for the taking. Stoke showing how its done. Let's hope Spurs and Liverpool drop points today as well
-
He's been more isolated for the last few games. I don't think the early chance against Arsenal was as easy as some think. It'll come good for him soon, starting on Monday
-
Wow, thought that would be a nailed on 2-0 United prediction
-
Absolute class. Can't believe so many doubted him after the mistake at Villa. He's a massive upgrade on Boruc.

Chill. It's not healthy to be getting so worked up this early. I was simply referring to a thread on whether we could finish top 4. From what I recall a lot of replies showed there was a belief we could. Posters like myself were bring labelled negative for suggesting that we weren't going to keep winning every week.Personally, in terms of our progression and chances of finishing there I felt the Man City game was our biggest in years, sadly it proved that we can't mix it with the elite yet. Our points total will level out by the turn of the year.I'd expect a similar finish to last season now, especially as these injuries have come at the wrong time.
-
There was a lot of talk on here about us making the top 4 recently, people were starting to believe. I'm a realist, I can accept we aren't yet anywhere near that level. All I mean regarding losing a few is that perhaps a lot of our fans would have stayed a bit more grounded.
-
Gutted to lose tonight, but after a nice run of early fixtures with a relatively injury squad, has our luck run out now? If Toby, Cork and Morgan are out for any period of time, we will become seriously exposed. Really worried looking at the next 7/8 games. Can't help thinking it might have been better to lose some games earlier on. Our phenomenal start has perhaps raised expectations to an unrealistic level.
-
Devastated, can't remember the last time we lost to a late goal like that. I can accept defeat, but we looked comfortable, there were no periods of dominance from Arsenal, even with 10 we looked good for a draw.Get the feeling we might have used all our luck up this season. The next few games could see us return to normality.
-
Holding our own. Arsenal are nothing to fear. We need to show a bit more going forward. Forster looking solid, can't believe how many are doubting him on the back of one mistake.
-
Very nervous. This game will define our season. We need a win if we want to prove we can mix it with the best. Hopefully Cork and Long in for Morgan and Mane
-
Fine margins now. We're not sitting so comfortably. It can all change very quickly. By the end of Monday night things won't be looking so great. A tough run of games, can't help thinking we're going to go on a similar run of form to this time last year. City played very well on Sunday, but I think it might have knocked our confidence.
-
Sorry, didn't make it very clear, was referring to a top half finish. I think we will finish around 9th now, which would represent a successful season after everything that happened in the summer. The likes of Liverpool and Spurs (even though you constantly comment on how poor they supposedly are) are starting to gain a bit of momentum.
-
Our rivals are all closing in, whilst it looks like our luck has run out. It will be an incredible achievement if we can finish in the top half now. We can forget the top 6.Think we might just do it though. That and winning the league cup would be a successful campaign.
-
spot on, the League Cup has presented us with a great opportunity of silverware and European football. I'd happily finish 17th if that happens, it's no different to finishing 8th
-
Possibly, but so many times there were half hearted attempts at tackles, Big Vic looked to be our only player giving it 100%. If Yoshida plays we are in massive, massive trouble, he's out of his depth at this level
-
Think this is game will be another test. We've lost our spark in the last few games and several players look scared yesterday and not up for the fight. Massively disappointing to see after our good start. It's going to be a night to forget. Arsenal 5 Saints 1.
-
It was an opportunity to prove we can mix it with the best. Sadly we found out we can't. Top 6 has to be the aim now, to chat about finishing top 4 now would be embarrassing. No one really turned up, but we got thoroughly outplayed. Fairplay to City, they played like Champions today.
-
The red card just made us even more vulnerable to a City counter, and so it proved. It seems people actually expected us to get a result out of this. City have spent millions to get to where they are, and today has just confirmed how far behind we are. It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone
-
Great stop by Forster, a goal there would have killed his confidence. Beaten by a superior team today, but anyone who thinks we can finish top 4 now is deluded
-
Yoshida on. Very worrying
-
We have to get to ht at 0-0. Big teamtalk needed by Ronald
-
We need to weather the storm. City look well up for this, far more hungrier than we are.
-
Wow. Massive let off
-
Wanyama yellow, not a good start
