  1. Bottling a game, even if it's highly unwinnable and against Real Madrid, doesn't show much ambition does it? I'd say it was pretty disgraceful really, and totally disrespectful to the fans. Rodgers is going to look very stupid if they don't get a result against Chelsea.
  2. Pretty much bang on. Although for some it seems negative to dare to suggest we might only finish 8th, which would make it another good season. To do better we will need a good bit of luck. It's unlikely, but certainly not impossible
  3. Interesting to see that after 12/13 games last season, only Arsenal had more than 24 points. You'd think that we should be on at least 25 after 13. 4 or 6 points from the next 2 and we're in a position where we can get away with a dip in form and remain top 4 by the turn of the year.
  4. I also think 3-0 home win, but my cautious mindset will remain until 9.50pm on december 8th, that is when we will really know what this team is capable of
  5. I'm just trying to stay grounded, getting a lot of comments about being negative. I think it will make it easier for me to accept a loss, too many people are getting ahead of ourselves thinking we are world beaters. Every team other than ourselves and Chelsea have had a few unexpected results, it's the nature of the game
  6. We are certainly starting to get respect from the bookmakers. I just feel the city/arsenal/united week will tell us what we're capable of. We shouldn't fear any of them. 4 points from the next 2 and 3 defeats we could just about get away with to keep us in the top 6. Take 7/8 points, then we can start talking about top 6 and 4. People can keep calling me negative all they like, this is the best Saints side I've seen in 22 years. We are on the verge of something, but nothing more. It is still very early days, and as with last season, the real test will be against the sides who finished above us last season. Off the top of my head we took 9 points from 14 games (wins against Everton at home and Scousers away, draws at home to city, arsenal and man utd). That figure needs to be increased to around 15 or 16 points if we are going to be genuine top 4 challengers. The main positive is that we have a decent cushion already above the teams below. We probably need to average a bit over 1.5 points per game to get fourth.
  7. Just find it funny how everyone is dismissing MP. Everyone was singing his praises last year, me and Glasgow were among a few who had doubts and were happy to see him go
  8. Not sure, maybe I should predict us to win only 5 more games this season and finish 18th?
  9. A disjointed mess is a massive exaggeration though, they're still in a decent position and will do ok. To suggest they will finish above us is hardly negative, they will probably finish 6th and us 7th. I would be interested to know where you think we will finish this season
  10. Except they ended up winning, we can keep claiming MP is **** and has no plan b, they will still finish above us
  11. Yeah i heard him say that, poor excuse. Surely J Rod, Lambert and Lallana must have provided about 90% of our goals last season. Luckily we have worked out how to score without them. Liverpool stupidly thought Balotelli might be the answer
  12. Another tough game, a few signs of tiredness today, hopefullt RoKo gives them a bit of rest in the week. Leicester have struggled for goals recently. It's quite incredible how well we're doing, the last few games have proved we're a cut above a lot of teams in this league. Whilst I am worried it's all a bit too good to be true what is happening right now, and convinced we're due a defeat, confidence is high and we're playing too well. Saints 3-0 Leicester
  13. Last season there was a real lack of goals from the midfield, we really only had 3 players scoring. Since RoKo has come in, Cork, Morgan and Big Vic have all scored at least a couple of goals. Pelle is obviously providing most of them, but it doesn't feel like we need to be so reliant on him, and will still find goals if he hits a bad patch of form
  14. There's a few new bits of the training kit popping up on ebay at the moment, so I'd keep an eye on that. The away shirts sold out in most sizes early on. You can get a cheap fake on aliexpress for around a tenner, no idea of the quality though
  15. Of course, like Morgan said it would be a 'bomb' in the game for a club like us to upset the top 6. I'd love nothing more than for it to happen. We'd need a hell of a lot of luck along the way though
  16. Just being realistic. The top 6 always ends up being the same. Who on here thinks we will maintain top 4 form all season? Some people's expectations are getting too much now. We were in a similar position this time last year. Call me negative, but I'm going to be right. Still think we will finish 8th/9th again and make a cup final, that would be a good campaign
  17. I have to agree with him. For us to win again would simply be too good to be true. The bubble will eventually burst. We can't keep winning, and are due a few defeats to even out the table. The loss this saturday will be disappointing, but landing a nice bit of cash on a hull win will soften the blow, plus we will still be in a strong position in the league, and should win at home next weekend
  18. Would be happy with a draw. We can't keep on winning, can we?
  19. That's us out then, not a surprise
  20. Got to keep it tight, with City losing the competition could open right up
  21. Well we also played against Sanchez, Wilshere, Cazorla, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Podolski
  22. Think it's a tricky tie. I've bet us to win the competition. If we get through tonight, only Chelsea or Man City might stop us in our tracks
  23. Just of the opinion that the Stoke line up is as good as what we faced on Saturday, plus the fact they have home advantage. I fancied us to beat Arsenal in the last round, just hope I'm wrong tonight
  24. An attacking line up from Stoke. Would be massively surprised if we get anything from the game, penalties is probably the best we can hope for.
  25. Not going to go into too much detail, but all is not well behind the scenes, hardly surprising given Spurs' start to the season.
