Another magical European night at Anfield. #YNWA

Glad to see Lallana achieve his ambition of sitting on the bench against Real Madrid
-
We need to pick up a few more points against the sides above us (everton, spurs, liverpoool). Let's not forget that we've improved on some of last season's results (west ham away, sunderland home) though. In terms of quality I don't think the gap between ourselves and everton and spurs is that great. Everton in particular are struggling with having to play in the europa league. Realistically we have an outside chance of top 6, but would need quite a lot of luck along the way. I think the picture will be a lot clearer by the turn of the year. I'd be happy with 10th or above and a cup final

Exactly, we know he's clueless. Can't understand why people get so wound up by the opinions of some of these pundits
-
To think the majority (as poor as Hodgson has been) wanted 'arry as England manager. Not sure how his lack of players and money would have worked as an excuse then
-
Will be tougher to break down than Sunderland, that's for sure. Another win would really show we mean business. Think we'll see a 1-1 draw in this one though

Saints 8 (Eight) Sunderland 0 - Match and Reactions
Saint_Tony replied to Unbelievable Jeff's topic in The Saints
That's the key point, things started to go a bit wrong around december last year. The squad depth is ok, but nowhere near the level of other sides. An injury to Forster or Pelle for example, would be a massive problem -

Of which we'd need to win 19/20 to make the top 4. A long way to go, we know we have a team capable of beating the majority of the rest of the league. I think december will be the real test, by the end of the year we'll have a better idea of where we can finish -
Now is the time to say show our sincere gratitude

It's about having staff and players who actually give a ****. RoKo has shown far more passion for the job and towards the fans than MP ever did -
Fifth team in history to win by 8 goals in the Premier League
Saint_Tony replied to Red and White Army's topic in The Saints
So is the 6-3 against United count as our biggest win in the premier league? That's what Jonathan Pearce said, annoyingly mentioning the grey shirts. So many people confuse the 2 games like Utd had an excuse that day -
I wasn't bothered when Chambers left, Clyne is a better player. It must be very disheartening for him, but I'm just happy for him to be putting in great performances for us

Wow, what a result. The way some of the new players have settled in and got playing Koeman's way is incredible. I feared for us in the summer, but also made the point that it was still a fantastic job for RoKo as he had an opportunity to build his own team. And what a team he is building. If we want to finish higher than last season then we have to be winning games like this. To win it in this style though is incredible. It's really now about whether we can take points of of those teams who finished above us last season. I would have been happy with 12th and above, but are expectations changing? Is this team capable of upsetting the elite in the table? -

Let's not mess this up now, the 3 points are on a plate -

Pelle! -
Same here, way overpriced really as it wouldn't be a massive shock, we know what we're like against Sunderland. Think we might have to settle for a tired performance. 1-1 draw

Saints duo win awards - Koeman MOTM - Pellè POTM
Saint_Tony replied to angelman's topic in The Saints
Congratulations, both awards well deserved. Pelle red card tomorrow? -
I was in the West Ham end last year and it was around £55. Rip off. Anyways, football is overpriced just like everything else is these days so quite pointless making a big deal about it
-
Think we will get 7 points from the next 4 league games, sitting comfortably on 20 points before a tough december and january
-
He does himself no favours at all, best to keep quiet. His arrogance is typical of an England player. He's digging himself a deeper hole and if anything, gone even lower in my opinion. He's just like your average Liverpool fan, holding onto former glory of the 80s, and the fact they were the luckiest team to ever win it. They've had their time.I would ****ing love it if we were to qualify for the Champions League in the next few years. As Morgan said it would be a 'bomb' in English football and upset the applecart. Anyways, l'm happy with our squad, we're better off without egos. I'm also happy for Adam to achieve his dream of getting a pasting from Real Madrid on another 'magical european night at anfield'. You may never walk alone, but you will always be a c***

Morgan Schneiderlin comments in 'France Football' magazine
Saint_Tony replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
On the very, very slight off chance of us qualifying for the CL, would he stick around for another season just to complete the journey? Anyways, when he inevitably leaves hopefully it won't be to the likes of Arsenal or Spurs, he's genuinely even above their level -
Same team, no need to change just because we've lost one game to a better team.

Niemi Bridge M Svensson Richards Clyne Marsden Schneiderlin MLT Lallana Beattie Lambert Subs Kelvin Davis, Benali, Fonte, Lundekvam, Pahars, Ali Dia,

Let's not get ahead of ourselves, time and time again we come unstuck against these sorts of teams. They are all beatable, but are all capable of doing the same to is. 7 points would be a reasonable return, 6 should be the minimum expectation.
-
No big deal, we were never going to win this and we are still in a decent position. 4 points from the next 2 games should keep us in the top 6. Just annoying that theres another international break. Poor miss from Mane, but he's a player who will frustrate and excite in equal measures
-
Well I've correct predicted today that we would lose, whilst many others expected something from the game.
