  1. A few of these teams totals are influenced by the fact we have already beaten them, don't forget that. Yet another pointless statisticsl exercise. We"ve got people trying to show how we shouldn't be 2nd, and others trying to make us top. Think I might stick to the real premier league table, or perhaps start a new thread on it
  2. Spurs are very much interested. As good as he's been, I'd let him go. Although it's not guaranteed MP will be there in January from what I've heard.
  3. Well no actually. Results never work out how you expect. Just ask people who bet the likes of liverpool, arsenal and utd to win every weekend.
  4. Well let's see how many points you think we'll get out of these next 9 games
  5. Yes. Football's a funny old game, as we've seen this season. Hull are playing well at the moment. And I think we might be burnt out after the 3 games against United, City and Arsenal. Or should i expect maximum points as we are higher in the league than everyone else?
  6. Hull 2-1 Saints Saints 2-1 Leicester Villa 0-0 Saints Saints 1-3 Man City Arsenal 2-3 Saints Saints 2-2 Man Utd Burnley 2-1 Saints Saints 3-1 Everton Palace 2-0 Saints 11 points. Anything more than that would be an incredible achievement and would probably make us genuine top 6 contenders, hence why I'm anticipating a slight downturn in results. Still, 31 points would put us on course for a similar finish to last year. 8th is a waste of time, so unless we do well in November/december, it will be better to focus on the FA cup
  7. Would be happy with 11 points, going into the new year with 30. If we're serious about improving on last year then I think we's need at least 18, bit of a tall order. Would be surprised if we win 4 or more of those games, but we're about to see what this team is really made of
  8. Will certainly be having a bet on Stoke. Sure, we're a better side and should win, but a team like Saints aren't going to keep winning, sadly. If we won our next 3 like we're capable of doing, we'd still be 3rd. Things like that don't happen in football. I'd expect Stoke to get a penalty, or one of our players to get a red card. The likes of Man Utd, Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool will start picking up points, and we will drop off into 8th/9th.
  9. Tadic took the one against Arsenal when we had a strong side, so guess it would be him. He's worth having anyway
  10. How about we just look at the real table? We are where we are on merit, regardless of who we've played. We won't finish there, so let's just enjoy it (or someone could make another alternative table later in the season to try and make us higher up the league)
  11. Another magical European night at Anfield. #YNWA
  12. Glad to see Lallana achieve his ambition of sitting on the bench against Real Madrid
  13. We need to pick up a few more points against the sides above us (everton, spurs, liverpoool). Let's not forget that we've improved on some of last season's results (west ham away, sunderland home) though. In terms of quality I don't think the gap between ourselves and everton and spurs is that great. Everton in particular are struggling with having to play in the europa league. Realistically we have an outside chance of top 6, but would need quite a lot of luck along the way. I think the picture will be a lot clearer by the turn of the year. I'd be happy with 10th or above and a cup final
  14. Exactly, we know he's clueless. Can't understand why people get so wound up by the opinions of some of these pundits
  15. To think the majority (as poor as Hodgson has been) wanted 'arry as England manager. Not sure how his lack of players and money would have worked as an excuse then
  16. Will be tougher to break down than Sunderland, that's for sure. Another win would really show we mean business. Think we'll see a 1-1 draw in this one though
  17. That's the key point, things started to go a bit wrong around december last year. The squad depth is ok, but nowhere near the level of other sides. An injury to Forster or Pelle for example, would be a massive problem
  18. Of which we'd need to win 19/20 to make the top 4. A long way to go, we know we have a team capable of beating the majority of the rest of the league. I think december will be the real test, by the end of the year we'll have a better idea of where we can finish
  19. It's about having staff and players who actually give a ****. RoKo has shown far more passion for the job and towards the fans than MP ever did
  20. So is the 6-3 against United count as our biggest win in the premier league? That's what Jonathan Pearce said, annoyingly mentioning the grey shirts. So many people confuse the 2 games like Utd had an excuse that day
  21. I wasn't bothered when Chambers left, Clyne is a better player. It must be very disheartening for him, but I'm just happy for him to be putting in great performances for us
  22. Wow, what a result. The way some of the new players have settled in and got playing Koeman's way is incredible. I feared for us in the summer, but also made the point that it was still a fantastic job for RoKo as he had an opportunity to build his own team. And what a team he is building. If we want to finish higher than last season then we have to be winning games like this. To win it in this style though is incredible. It's really now about whether we can take points of of those teams who finished above us last season. I would have been happy with 12th and above, but are expectations changing? Is this team capable of upsetting the elite in the table?
  23. Let's not mess this up now, the 3 points are on a plate
  24. Same here, way overpriced really as it wouldn't be a massive shock, we know what we're like against Sunderland. Think we might have to settle for a tired performance. 1-1 draw
