Always going to be the problem when getting kids to sign their first contract. He’s been playing u18 and will get attention from other clubs. They just have bigger budgets to store kids than we do. Someone is obviously prepared to offer him higher wages, maybe he needs to have a word with Dibbling? At 16/17 you can’t expect to be first team ready so realistically it’s about another year with u18 and then either a loan or pushing for the first team squad then. you always hope kids are loyal when signing their first pro deal to the club who has developed them over the years but clearly not always the case.

A win but not great. First half we were poor. Lucky with both goals. Still creating very little and have very few shots.

Our summer transfer window was all about buying promising players, give them game time and hopefully develop them so in a couple of years they will be sold for big bucks. We seemed to have forgotten about the here and now, players playing who aren’t good enough/ready for the PL. We needed some experience and know how to support 2/3 of these type of players. im sure SR will want to protect their investment and relegation will see ABK and Lavia sold earlier and cheaper than they would want. What SR do now in this window really could define our next few years, whether we remain a PL side or become one of many fighting to get back in it.

Depends how many new shares were issued. The last accounts state there are 501,000 £1 shares, so KL would have 20% of these but without knowing how many new shares were issued you can’t work out what her stack is.

However, following the group’s investment over the summer, when it injected millions of pounds into the club, her shares have been diluted. This would suggest the money injected for the summer transfers was done via issuing ans purchasing more shares in the company rather than as a debt to the company. It’s a good move from the finances of the club.

Has he shown that here though? He’s picked up some City players but he hasn’t gone out to other clubs and picked up promising 18/19yr olds. He’s just raided the one club he knows about. At Chelsea, like at City he’ll have a much bigger budget to go and get top tier players , which is always easier to do for bigger clubs than mid/lower clubs

Lose to city and it’s an easy time to sack him. If we managed to get a point then he gets the next game imo. I don’t think there’s any new news to the article really, sound out a replacement so when they do sack there is no period of no manager. I like him as a person and he did well with no money but I think we now need someone with fresh ideas to get the best from the squad. Someone the players will do anything for. Give 100% every game makes up for the lack of ability, that’s all we ask.

I assume they have a contract with Denmark so want to continue with that. I guess they could have gone logo less on their shirt but it’s a good talking point at least.

The difference between the average positions of each starting XI tonight. we had Adams Armstrong and Moi practically all occupying the same space, and MD being tucked in. I mean Villa were poor too but at least they set up and occupied their own area of the pitch.

That was woeful. Taking Diallo off with no other centre mid availabile was odd. Overrun in the middle and couldn’t string two passes together all night.

But given how is loan panned out and his performances after Xmas, do you think we would have taken up the option to buy if he had one? I guess ultimately depends on what the price was, but not sure they were too impressed with him over the 2nd half of the season.

It’s clear, we don’t need to sell to buy now from a financial perspective but purely from a number of players one. We have too many in the “first team” squad to manage so have to shift some to bring the squad down then buy more. I think I saw we were at 26/27 senior players currently. Even 11v11 in training leaves us with subs.
