Harlee Dean was getting rave reviews at Brentford. Maybe time to recall him?

There has been quite a lot of male on male love on the UI forum recently. You could go there, chat to Dune and Turkish about how much you hate this board, how we should invade the Falklands etc. You know, just test the water to see if you really are gay or just curious.
-
Wouldn't have had you down as a small minded bigot Dune. That has come completely out of the blue. Anyway, what are you doing here? I thought you hated this forum and only wanted to play with your friends in the childrens section. Are they all at school?
-
How very polite.

your club has no chane of getting a celtic star player .

Would this be permitted if talking about blacks or Indians? The OP is obviously an idiot but we have our fair share of idiots here in England, even here on this board. lashing out against a whole country or nation of people is small minded at best. -
Phil was telling her a golf story minutes earlier, ungrateful *****!

Cameron seeks independence referendum clarity for Scotland

Brunei has less than 400k people but produces 167000 barrels of oil each day. In 1999 6,000,000 barrels of oil was taken each day from the waters surrounding Scotland. My point simply being you cannot dismiss my argument as nonsense when your counter claim is based around countries with larger populations have better economies or contribute more to the economy. As you say, there is no data on each countries contribution to GDP but to base it on population is way off the mark. There are 9 million people living in Somalia does that mean they have a larger GDP or more "economic power" than Scotland? In truth, as I said previously, it is an non argument as there will be a joint defence pact as part of the process. We even have an agreement with France so it would be crazy not to have one with Scotland, especially as most of the 'good stuff' is based up there. If not, then maybe it will work the Soviet way and there will be an arms grab on the day of the split. Scotland won't be able to maintain such a large defence force as Ken correctly highlighted, they would have to sell most of it on. I am sure there would be a few interested parties, perhaps Alex Salmon is looking up Yuri Orlov's number as we speak -

Whose to say that they belong to England in the first place and they are not Scottish? Lets ignore the fact that there will be some agreement on defence as it is mutually beneficial to both countries for a moment. You have made the assumption that anything good or useful must be by default English. Scottish tax payers money helped to pay for the equipment in these bases the same as English and Welsh tax payers did. Most of the UK's nuclear defence systems are 'probably' located in Scotland. Should these weapons be moved down to England after the split? After all they must be English? Maybe Scotland can sell them to England or England can pay an annual amount to Scotland for defence? It is this type of typically arrogant thinking that annoys the other countries in the union. Not all of the successes of the British army in history have been down to the English, don't forgot who captured Napoleon's standard and where it is held. -
No problem Chez. I wouldn't go to Tokyo in June as it is really humid and rains alot. July and August are always VERY hot. As it is a city and I was working there in a suit, it is the hostest place I have ever experienced. If you are in shorts and T-shirts it might be bearable but the cars and air con units pumping out hot air really add to the heat. Hanami is the best time to go by far. The atmosphere in the parks is great, people just sitting drinking under cherry blossom trees. Alternatively, winter is great as you can jump on the shinkansen (bullet train) and be snowboarding in around an hour. I would recommend Karuzawa for this... http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e6030.html It is not so easy to go to the beach and then back to the city as the beaches around Tokyo are not that great at all. The combination of volcanic ash sand, over industrialisation and Tsunami breaks spoil most natural beauty. Ibaraki has a few good surfing beaches http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ibaraki_Prefecture and there are a few scuba places south of Tokyo but nothing worth writing home about and really no better than Bournemouth. I would really recommend staying longer though if you can. Visitors to Japan can take advantage of a special Shinkansen deal. I think it is something like unlimited travel for about £100 - £150 which is amazing value if you plan on travelling around the country for a bit.

If you want to go clubbing go to Roppongi or Shibuya. Roppongi is full of forgeiners so is loved by people there for a short time but hated by people that have been there for a while. I would recommed Shibya for a night out, loads of bars and clubs hidden up the back alleys. http://www.virtualtourist.com/travel/Asia/Japan/Tokyo_to/Tokyo-969164/Nightlife-Tokyo-Night_Out_in_Shibuya-BR-1.html Harajuku – good for watching people – fashion nutters and has the best park in Tokyo – yoyogi. This park has loads of rockabilly dancers by the enterence. Definetly worth a trip on Sunday. Also has the maji shine which is cool for a bit of culture. Akihabara – electrical town also the home of manga and people (geeks called otaku) who love manga. For a day trip go to Kamakura. This is an old town, with tradittional old buildings, temples etc etc better than going miles to kyoto if you want a bit of culture. Drinking – DO NOT GO TO gas panic or the hub or Irish bars unless you want to hang out with a load of westerners and pay £5 a pint then come home and moan that japan is expensive. Japanese drink in izakya (s). This is a kind of casual restraunt/bar. They are everywhere with the biggest brands being Wara Wara or Watami. Two phrases you have to learn is 1) Nomi hodi 2) tabi hodi. This means 1) all you can eat 2) all you can drink. (pro: no me ho die). The drinking one is the most common and most places do it (japanese places not tourist traps). It is usually about 3000 yen for 3 hours free drinking (about £15). A must do is karaoke. It is completely different from anything you have experiecned in England and miles better. If you go at midnight most places do a £15 nomi hodi until 6am. Cheapest all nighter in the world. You are in a room, just you and your mates so you don’t look too stupid. Plus after a bit of drinking you get to meet the people in the other rooms, a good ****ed up laugh. If you like sushi, it is amzing and dirt cheap in tokyo compared to here. I would recommed going to shibuya station. When you come out to that big square you will see a building with OIOI written on it in huge letters. This is called maouri but you can call it oi oi if you like. This is a department store for girls, quite and experience in itself going here. Anyway, in this building on about the 9th floor is a sushi place. Sit at the counter have some crab soup and saki and enjoy. The fish are all kept in tanks behind the counter and the guy pulls it our fresh….it is still hot when you eat it. Mental but the freshest sushi you can get and pretty cheap. Costs about £20 a head for food and drink. If you have anything special you want to know give me a shout. Night Out in Shibuya, Tokyo http://www.virtualtourist.com

You called me an IRA sympathising tam Cvnt not that long ago. I'd say you are a wannabe bigot but without a cause.

Exactly as above, Turkish was good at pulling up others and pretty funny with the idiots that asked the same things or told the same things or the same old jokes again or again, however he does the same himself re: crowd size etc. Out of interest, those that know him, how old is Turkish? All this 'lad' stuff, scraps every weekend is the norm in your late teens or early 20's but if as I expect he is in his 30s, its a bit sad. There must be a point where you grow out of it? It's a bit like being the old guy in the club, no one want to be him do they?
-
Damn, it can only be down to our hard nuts wearing the wrong clothes or being too busy posting on the UI forum.

He, like a good few people on here, have probably watch Green Strret one too many times. However, out of that crowd he was by far the funniest and has a pretty decent taste in music. He is having a bit of a moan about it here http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/southampton/fb_mb.php?m=v&t=44337#22

It just doesn't work, he is Japanese not Korean. I think his grandparents are korean but that's it. Even if he was Korean, have they actually eaten dog for years? Anyway as he is Japanese it does not matter. It would be like singing a song about Le tiss eating snails and frogs legs.
-
He was sacked moments after De Ridder failed to cross the ball late on in the Blackpool game. It is a results business and NC does not accept failure.
-
I have no idea what you are talking about? I guess you are saying that karate and Kung Fu are the same thing? Put the hat back on and go sit at the 'thick table'.
-
Just as I thought we had reached a new low with the Kung Fu song (it being a Chinese martial art and nothing to do with Japan) we have a new winner. Please come to the front to collect your new KKK/dunce hat.

If he has been following the regular school program, he will have been studying English since he was 5 years old. Allowing for footballers being of below average intelligence, he will be able to speak at least basic English. He will however have trouble with idioms, slang and the usual football clichés. I am sure the club will hire someone on an average salary to help him settle in. I am sure he will speak like a country bumkin in a few months. Look at Guly, he already speaks like he grew up in Hythe

Let's just fill the gaps with racist slurs and inaccurate stereotypes then. We have had a few of the usual suspects on here so far but nobody has cracked a joke about eating dogs (Korean) of whales yet. Turkish is trying his best to fill the Deppo void but be needs support. Come on knuckle draggers, at least give us a song.

I've got lots of Friends and family still over there, some of them are season ticket holders for J league clubs. I've asked their opinion of him and will post their replies.

Lee is not a Japanese name though, as mentioned before he is not of Japanese decent. I doubt our motives are for commercial befits as he would need to be 100 % Japanese for them to really care. Plus they have a number of players who are Japanese dining well across the world, a couple in Germany and Honda in Russia (cue really funny car jokes).

This forum has reached an all time low today. The new Messi to he old west Indian to a flat Italian in 24 hours. See you in feb.

He can provide cover for Shaqiri while he is out having cream teas in the New Forrest on Sundays. Not a natural winger I know, but I am sure the full backs (lizarazu) can push up.

Good post and I agree with most of it. However, as I am a fairly young male bit of a semi retired 'lad' I would love to walk through Portsmouth in a big group singing, it would really be a great atmosphere. However, I am not so selfish that I cannot see the disadvantages of me having fun. 1) The police really do not want the difficult job of herding us to the ground, shouting at lads form both sides to get back, pushing us and them around. It is much easier and safer (for everyone involved including the police) to just shut off an area and bus us in. 2) It is great if you are in a large pack, safely in numbers etc. However, if there is any trouble, it is always a small group of two or three that get their heads kicked by a larger group. This is what happened in Bristol and almost every time you hear about football violence it's the same. Football hardmen don't like a fair fight, they prefer getting a few digs in when the odds are stacked in their favour. I would prefer it if the bubble didn't exist but I can appreciate the argument for it and think it will be here to stay.
