A bubble train would have been much more fun. For those like me who don't live in Southampton, the who bubble aspect was a pain in the arse. I didnt drink on the day as I had to drive to Southampton to get the bus in the other direction. However, it looked pretty easy to sneak drink on to the bus. I did not see one person check other than to ask, "what's in the bag?". I am pleased I didn't drink though as the wait for the toilet going there and then once we got into their crap ground. I would have missed half of the match Quing for a ****. VFTT is right, no point in moaning over something we can't change. What are we going to do? Boycott the match? Happy clappys will take the seat if you don't. Football has changed and is still changing, best get used to it or follow a different sport with a bit of an edge. Go and watch the boxing, real edge there. I watched a friend box at Portsmouth Town hall, that was the opposite of the bubble trip, face to face with the inbreds.

If only someone had gotten beaten up or stabbed on the way in. It would have really added something to the atmosphere, improved our singing and made the derby special. Things aren't as good as they used to be. Seriously though, I agree with a few points, the drums before the game spoiled the pre-match banter, the pompey songs were simpler (well they had to be) and therefore built easier, enabling the whole ground to pick up on them, while ours just begin and end. I would have liked to have heard a long non stop version of 'when the saints', the version that just keeps going. Another problem is we are often reacting to what they are singing - Play up pompey - **** off pompey Sha la la - Sha la la the fecken **** da de da Portsmouth song - Our one the same but with f*ck off at the end Who ar ya - Who are ya etc etc This didn't help as we were just reacting to their songs and not getting our own in to support our team.

Being down there today really brings it home, they are ****ed. We all know what a **** ground they have, poor infrastructure and an average championship size crowd. However, it's been a while since I saw it first hand. The ground really is falling apart a d even if they did not have any debt, they are only set up to be a lower championship team. What are they thinking paying big wages? I can't believe they signed a player this year for over a million! It really is time for the fire sale. They are lucky they have a decent manager but he is unlucky he has chosen to work there as his first management job. Minus 10 and fire sale coming soon I think!

Are people still waiting for Pompey ticket email?
Tokyo-Saint replied to 1976_Child's topic in The Saints
This is an absolute joke. We have not received an email telling us that we have been successful in our application or not. So if it was not for the fact that I have been on here and checking my online record on a daily basis, I would not have anyway of knowing my account has been debited for the two tickets plus bus fair. When we called up they confirmed that we did not need the email (but couldn't explain how I should know I have two tickets as the application was done by post not online) and said that we had to drive 9 hours from Cheshire and back, there were no exceptions and no way they could stick them in the post. I may be able to get a family member to pick up the tickets but she is not going to have any print outs, just the confirmation number and our address. I will then have to stop by that family members house on the morning of the game (as this will involve small talk etc we will now have to leave even earlier) as the ticket office won't be open. I know it is pretty much one girl working hard to do this and not her fault. However, it should never have been organised in this way causing her and us a lot of time and stress. A complete shambles! This could all have been avoided if either a) All tickets were posted and the cost added to the booking fee/price of the ticket. b) The ticket office opened for an hour or so on the morning of the game so that people who were not local could collect their tickets. -
There is a lot of sexual tension on the forum today. I hope it does not overflow onto the bus going to Portsmouth. A love bus with loads of me getting their knobs out to **** in coake bottles is not what I signed up for.

It really is a worry, will our players be able to cope with the electric atmosphere and the intimidation from their passionate fans?

Sam Gallagher - Plymouth Argyle youth player to sign for Saints
Tokyo-Saint replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
I don't see how anyone could ever think that. Btw, did anyone spot you while they were Paintballing? I can imagine you as Lord Ludwig in blackadder...."yes, Ward Prowse, I was that large tree you took cover behind." "but didn't we...?" " yes... We did!" -
I agree with Steve. I fully agree season ticket holders should go first. They give the cash up front for home games. However, I can not see any reason why their plus ones should go next. As whitey said, his plus ones have been to a grand total of 0 away games this season. Also, not posting the tickets out to those not living in Hampshire - What's the logic in that? The ticket office not being open on the day - Again what is the logic here? Bubble match, police escorts, early Sunday kick off, no alcohol, these are all understandable points and you can put them down to police restrictions. The other issues are down to the ticket office.

A big part of the problem is that the ticket office have told different information to different people. There has been very little 'official' information about what is going on, so people have been left to speculate. My brother got twitchy and called them yesterday. They told him that EVERYONE who applied to either ballot has been successful. They have loaded on the applications from the first ballot and they are in the process of the 2nd ballot now. I have been checking regularly and our tickets have just been added this afternoon. I still haven't had an email so cannot pick the tickets up yet. This leaves less than 10 days to collect them, a bit of a problem for those living 100's of miles away. There was no information on any tickets left over going on general sale. Still having them on showing on my account calls for a little.... SHA La La La La La La who the ***** is laughing now?
-
Especially if they expect people to travel to the ticket office to pick them up. I will have to come down from London to collect them and if you have to collect in person, my brother may have to come down from Cheshire. Unless they let me pick up both applications? It is pretty stupid, if they are going to take ages about it, can they not just post out the tickets, especially to those not living in Hampshire?
-
It's boll0x. At no point did it say, season ticket holders successful in the first ballot can now buy additional tickets (and be ahead of our usual travelling support in priority), however please be aware you will be responsible for whoever you buy tickets for. If the guy next to you (your plus one) starts acting like a Knob and gets thrown out, your are not going to get into trouble are you?
-
Back on topic (sort of) - Has anyone who applied on the 2nd ballot (not linked to someone from the first ballot) actually heard anything yet? I takes me bloody ages to travel to Southampton and need to know if I have to do it to pick up my coach ticket sooner rather than later. If I do have to travel down, I would like to see the Blackpool game on the same day. The ticket office have really made a meal of this process.
-
I would love to believe this is true as I am still waiting to hear anything about my application. I don't go in for the whole its embarrassing we didn't sell out blah. If we had put it on general sale to anyone with a customer number, we would have sold out in days. I know loads of people that would have been up for it but didn't think they would have any chance in the ballot. The problem is that the original poster has a poor track records with his 'inside info' and I still have doubts I will get my tickets. Come on ticket office, sort it out!

Portsmouth away tickets - ballot reopened!
Tokyo-Saint replied to hypochondriac's topic in The Saints
Sorry mate, no offence to you, you have just applied as the system has allowed and fair play to you, however this really gets on my tits. I do not live in Southampton, cannot go to every midweek game, so do not have a season ticket. However, I do go to a larger number of home games and even more away games. I travel miles across the country, spending a fortune on petrol and train tickets but because I don't have a season ticket I get screwed in the big games. I can accept that season ticket holders get first dibs on tickets for big games (this one, JPT final etc) but the fact that I get pushed behind people because they have a mate who is a season ticket holder is unacceptable in my eyes. I did say on the original thread that they would open it up to season ticket holders plus ones but no one believed me. What is the clubs rational behind this? I would love someone to put this to NC at one of his meet and greet dinners. I would do it myself but obviously, not being a season ticket holder I won't get an invite. Once he has had dinner with all of the season ticket holders, he will make his way through their mates and families before I get an invite. -

How many have your 'plus 1s' from ballot 2 been to? I have 7 away games so far, including Doncaster and nothing on my account to show skates away yet. It is quite possible your additional tickets will get in ahead of me. If they have been to less away games (not saying they have but some people plus ones are bound to have) then yet again the system screws me over. Fecking ticket office! -

I'm getting really worried now, nothing showing online. I was in the 2nd ballot and should have enough away tickets. I just hope my application wasn't in the wrong shoe box! -
Portsmouth away tickets - ballot reopened!
Tokyo-Saint replied to hypochondriac's topic in The Saints
All of the applications are in the shoe boxes behind him.....fact The official process has been, application arrives, open envelope, put application in shoe box, squeeze down other application, kick dropped applications under the table, put shoe box back on top of other shoe boxes, leave until 1 week before match then pick a couple of shoe boxes at random. Any problems from 'customers' blame it on the police. -
This is pretty good actually. Leicester sung something similar to us and it shut us up for a bit.
