  1. After pinning his colours to the cortese mask in the summer our success this year had hit noodles quite hard. He was one of those that believed the day cortese went the club died. I imagine he still sleeps with the Leeds programme under his pillow so he can think about his hero. Be gentle, he's struggling to cope with the Facts that cortese clearly wasn't he greater chairman who ever lived.
  2. Particularly like answer to the final question. His goals are all about improving and saints goals, not selfish ones.
  3. People hated him because he wasn't Cortese. Rather than understanding that his walked into a sh*t storm, that Cortese was playing the media and someone internally was stirring behind the scenes at the club. Rather than cut him a bit of slack the knives were out and the spiteful nicknames were given. He's done a great job, proven himself to be a decent bloke who has genuine affection for the club. Which is more than can be said for the man he replaced.
  4. i did tell him i was nicking it Bradley!
  5. Do the Walter Mitty gag again!
  6. No it doesn't. It's all about his recovery with a couple of lines at the very end about other clubs monitoring the situation, which is hardly news.
  7. He is a talisman. When he scores we win. He is like what Ian Rush used to be at Liverpool.
  8. Personally I preferred the days when the chairman said nothing leaving it instead to the players and manager to praise his hard work every single time they gave an interview.
  9. If saints finish 6th and Liverpool finish 7th (with no Europa league or FA cup place) then Liverpool get to play their 'great European nights at Anfield' trump card with the media waxing lyrical about their great fans, amazing atmosphere, thought provoking banners and generally being great ambassadors for the English game* So unfortunately saints will have to step aside and allow Liverpool to take their rightful place in Europe. Plus saints didn't give Steve Gerrard a proper send off and didn't send him birthday presents, which in case you didn't know is on cup final day. * apart from heysel and the subsequent ban, which wasn't their fault anyway, it was Thatcher, The NF, Chelsea, the stadium, etc.
  10. Okay so we want Chelsea to win the league cup and an arsenal/Man United v Liverpool FA cup final. Painful, but would mean we'd only need to finish 7th for Europe.
  11. Also what happens if Chelsea win the league cup? Do spurs qualify for Europe anyway as runners up or does the place of to the 6th place team in the league?
  12. That's superb pal.
  13. Sounds to me like you've finally made it onto the board of a sports club. Well done.
  14. If he's got anything about him as a bloke he'll extend his contract and stay for at least another season or two. He should be embarrassed if he f ucks off at the first opportunity after having a years pay, not to mention the medical and rehabilitation fees and treatment.
  15. Croatia Zagreb Roma Lazio Napoli Shalke Wisla Krakov Krakovia Dinamo Moscow PSG Galatasary Fenerbache Or any other club whose boys think they're a bit tasty so we can batter them all round their home towns like we did in the 70s and 80s
  16. You're nothing as a club unless they sell your shirt in Sports Direct.
  17. Every silver lining has a cloud doesn't it pal.
  18. If we did make it to Europe we'd have no regret.
  19. She showed tremendous insight getting rid of Cortese, it certainly wasnt love that tore them apart.
  20. Wages that go with it mean you're then under pressure to qualify every season or your left with champions league player wages without champions league money. I refer you to the case of Leeds United for how that works out.
  21. Which is exactly what happened. He p*ssed about playing billy big bol*ocks, left it too late to get anything bespoke and we were lumbered with kit which he chose but when it arrived he hated and was one of the worst selling kits we've had. Another stroke of genius from the greatest businessman who ever lived.
  22. Disgusting if true. Managers openly admitting to be interested in players who have contracts elsewhere. Its time UEFA acted on this.
  23. I don't think he has, not unprompted, he's been asked about him and responded but not done this before. Must be confident of getting him.
  24. We qualified for the premier league through league placing, we had players with premier league experience, we beat premier league teams in cups, yet still you claimed we needed loads of games to adapt to the league.
