    A gaggle I think.
  2. That's my point through, our game is built around Pelle, Tadic is quite possibly our best player so Rodriguez is competing for the other place with 3 players. mane has only really just got going so remains to be seen on him but first impressions are good. he's by no means guaranteed to be first choice like the other two. A few months back most of us were desperate for his return.
  3. In fairness whilst Franco was in a bad way, he was by no means the worst. Franco is just a bit of a sucker who got sucked into believing all the hype about Cortese and believed what he was told that southampton FC were nothing without him.
  4. It was all fortune was it Franco? All luck? Appointing Koeman, luck? Signing Pelle, Tadic, Mane, Bertrand Tony Underwood, all just down to being fortunate? Nothing to do with having plan which was slightly more deeper and better thought out than the one you had which was to unquestionably believe everything you were told by a previous director pining all your hopes on one mans ego. Yes Franco, all just good luck
  5. I just repeated to myself 'In Les reed we trust' And what a fantastic mantra that has proven to be.
  6. Will Rodriguez get in the team? I'm a big fan of his but on the evidence so far he's far from guaranteed to walk back into the team. Tadic and Pelle must be two of the first names on the team sheet and Mane is showing promise. People slate Long for his price tag but he does what he does very well. so whilst he gives us anther great option he's far from guaranteed to a place once he's back.

Care to elaborate on what Pelle has changed to succeed Brett?

Another thread for garett to put down as 'passion', yes?
  10. It could have been different, couldn't it pal.
  11. WTF?!! What was he doing? He actually looks like he was trying to do that
  12. Is that our highest ever margin of victory win? We've won by 6 before, 9-3 v wolves, 8-2 v Coventry, couple of 6-0s but don't ever remember a margin of victory bigger than that.
  13. Bump
  14. +1. How lucky we are the have an owner like her. Not scared to make tough decisions with the best interests of the club at heart.
  15. It's not though is it. What's childish is people screaming and wailing like spoilt little brats when there was a bit of stormy weather. Not having the backbone to stay calm. All summer this sort of stuff was going on, boycotts, protests, meltdowns etc etc. That was childish. Some didn't wobble and backed the club, reserving judgement like we were asked too, those that did this are well within their rights to ask the question now of those that were slamming the club all summer.
  16. There would be big problems with us being run like dortmund of course. Firstly win or lose the fans stay behind to applaud the team, at St Mary's, win or lose, half the fans are streaming out of the exits by the end of the game. Secondly, without the cheap beer a lot of our fans are already heading to the concourses on 35 minutes, with the promise of cheep beer, I doubt many of them will even make it to their seats. Thirdly, Unlike us Dortmund fans don't have to contend with roadworks on the m27 or A33, train engineer works, the weather, bank holidays, school holidays, two home games in a week, valentines day, surprise birthday parties for their great aunts and having to get home for x-factor all things that have prevented people attending in the past, so it's no surprise they can get these sort of crowds.
  17. I got absolutely slammed for this at the time but I said all this and that Adkins wouldn't last much long. The fact was Cortese went absolutely nuts after the Reading game and that from then on Akdins was on borrowed time and to he search from his replacement was well under way. Of course this wasn't true, Adkins was great, the new Alex ferguson, Cortese was god, Turkish is nothing more than a troll with an agenda etc. Yet hindsight shows Turkish was bang on as usual.
  18. the metldown continues.......
  19. The few games i have watched when there have literally been nothing else on have been most amusing. The goalkeepers are hilarious, It reminds me of under 9s football when any shot over head height either ends up in the net or with the keeper frantically flapping at the ball and hoping it doesn't hit them in the face.
  20. Doesn't sue whistle play football? I'm sure I saw her mention it once. Perhaps she could get involved in setting a team up?
  21. Why would anyone do that?
  22. There are few things more irritating than a woman at football. Apart from the vast majority being unattractive and stupid when it comes to talking about the game, they are even denser than the 'get it fooooooorwarrrd' brigade. One used to sit behind me in the kingsland, spent the first half of Lamberts first season shouting 'go on Richie Lampard, kick it' every five minutes. When they are not showing themselves as utterly clueless about the game they are getting moist at the sight of their current flavour of the months arse cheeks in his shorts. Generally there are three types of women at football, the geezer bird who is vulgar and best ignored. The sad desperate, insecure type that can't bare their chap to enjoy a day out without her so insist on coming with him, ruining his day and social life in the process. And the single girl who thinks a football stadium will be a good place to pick up men. They have no place inside a football ground, particularly when the match is sold out as it means there is a good lad sitting in a pub somewhere missing out due to a sad, insecure, vulgar or girl on the pull taking his place.
  23. So if we were to use your late buyers theory then what is to stop those that buy on a match by match basis simply waiting until the day before the game to buy their ticket, knowing full well that it'll be £35 on Monday or a tenner on Saturday? Then that day you'd have 5000 people ringing, emailing the ticket office or using the website, over working the ticket office too late to send tickets out and huge queues on match days with people trying to collect their cheap tickets. It'd be a nightmare logistically. Take it a step further and season ticket holders could well give up their season ticket which costs them £700 to go match by match knowing that they'll only be paying a tenner if they're smarter. The club would lose a fortune. Whilst people are paying the high prices clubs will all them at a high price. 29000 people paying £35 is better than 32,000 people paying £20.
  24. I'll be fine with it when there is a Football Manger women's version.
  25. First off I'm not sure where this myth has come from that southampton is an affluent area. The surrounding areas are like most big cities. Southampton itself is very much a working class city. Secondly Regardless of if you like it or not or if people think it's over priced or not the fact that for most games the ground is at least 90% full. Which suggests that from a business perspective the price us bang on. The only way prices will come down is if people on mass stop paying them. Thirdly it's Funny how MLG has shut up about his 50000 stadium now after banging on for years about how we'd be selling out easily every week if we had a good team with internationals in the the top half of he table.
