Neither are Hooliveld or Fox but doest stop them being picked.
-
Why is it an agenda to point out a few facts?
-
So would you describe conceding 3 goals in one half of football as a collapse or not? So there you go cherry picking games again, yet conveniently forgetting that MP had a fit Boruc in those games, Adkins didn't have that until New Year's Day, he was fired a few weeks later. This is as like for like as it gets, the main difference being that we have a quality centre half in Lovern available now, which Adkins didn't have. So arguably our available defence is better now than under Akdins, but just as fragile.
-
What is expect is that if MP is this truely great manager that some are claiming, that as has been pointed out, he gets better results with the same group of players as Adkins had. The squads the last few weeks has been and he hasn't.
-
What would you describe Cheslea as then? 3 second half goals conceded against a team you dismissed as one that simply played 'hoof ball' Did we have a six game run under Adkins which only gleaned two points? even at the start we managed 3.
-
Exactly this. Adkins had to cope without Boruc until New Year's Day last season (aside from his two fat boy performances) there was no Shaw for much of it and no Lovern and Wanyama. He had calamity Hoolvield and Fox as his two first choices in their positions. He also had a newly promoted team and no top flight management experience, yet He was a dead man walking long before he was sacked.
-
So we aren't losing games due to individual errors and poor defending then? Was that not one of the hallmarks of Adkins tenure in the premier league? Adkins also didn't have a team that had ' adapted to the premier league' (direct quote from here) and £35m spent on three full internationals. If MP is the man to take us to the fabled 'next level' don't you think Cortese would be expecting us to get results against the better teams?
-
Well we'll soon find out if he is the man to take us to the next level won't we. Fancy us getting anything from Everton and Chelsea? When does short term results become a flagging vision?
-
Shaw tweeted he could have played, Clyne is training again, Fonte is on the bench so can't be that bad. So our 'injury crisis' in reality is Boruc and Wanayama.
-
So why are you making things up again about changing the order of results? You do seem to struggle with forming an arguement without resorting to making things up. Is 4 loses in 6 almost as bad as five in a row?
-
I'm not saying its the right thing to do, far from it, they were Corteses words though when he justified Adkins sacking.
-
One win in nine, fancy us to get anything V Everton and Chelsea? I don't. Fail to be Cardiff and its one in twelve. Adkins lost his job for less. People will say we've had a tough run and injuries but a few months ago people were saying there are no easy games, we were amazing, the squad was great and a top 6 finish was inevitable.
-
Not sure what you're on about as usual. strawman
-
No, he said he does it BEFORE that happens. 4 loses in 6 now. Remember Newcastle could have been better but MP messed the tactics up in the first half and had too make two half time substitutes to rectify things. He also keeps picking players that make the same mistakes, Hooliveld has cost us at least one goal in his last two matches, yet he plays whilst Corteses signing Yoshida sits on the bench. These things won't have gone unnoticed upstairs.

-
Yep, as a few of the 'trolls' have long said, our first XI will give anyone a good game, but beneath that there really isn't much. You need 18-20 players good enough to be first XI to compete for a top 6 spot over a season. For us to even have a chance of a finish In the top 6 at the moment, which some said was good enough last season, you'd need all XI players to stay fit and inform for the entire season, never going to happen.
-
, is Clyne your new pin up boy now are struggling to defend lamberts form?
-
Can I also add that Chambers can potentially be better. He's not a million miles away now at 18 so give him two or three years he could be even better than Clyne.
-
If club history started in 2009 like some seem to think so then yes he is.
-
Remind me a bit of the QPR away game last season. Both sides desperate or a win with both managers under pressure. Let's hope we get a positive outcome here too.
-
Indeed. Like I said, given his claim that he didn't wait for 5 defeats in a row to happen before sacking a manger when defending Adkins dismissal you have to wonder if 4 defeats in 6 has made him preplan something else.
-
So are you suggesting Cortese is a liar?
-
According to some of the clappers it was good enough for 6th before we signed Lovren, Wanyama and Osvaldo.
