  1. You're the one who started fantasising about what is in my bottom Frank. All that wine has skewed your brain.
  2. Err, i think the hypoetical point was can you imagine the uproar IF Man U treated Bobby Charlton that way. Do you think their fans would stand for it? Seriously, Saints fans are wierd. Their greatest player is critical of the chairman and he is slagged off as being disruptive Their greatest manager is critical of the chairman and he is slagged off as being disruptive A life long fan who has been going to games for 40 years is banned for writing a midly critical article on the webiste he runs. Saints fans support the chairman and add their own criticism of the fan who was banned rather than supporting him. Any remotely or negative media article is dismissed as bullsh it and lies, whilst any postive one is greated with joyous celebration Can anyone see a pattern here? Wierd, brainwashed internet people who cant accept anything said against the man they worship for fear that it might upset their champions league dreams. Proper wierdos.
  3. What unsubstanciated comments would they be then?
  4. He was taken in by them, cant blame him for that. I remember plenty of people on here were as well. Ultimately he was willing to do something for the club and had the clubs interest at heart, even if he did back the wrong horse. I am truely amazed so called Saints fans are slagging off our greatest ever player and supporting the chairmans treatment of him. It's wierd. Can you imagine the uproar if the glaziers treated Bobby Charlton like it? Yet Saints fans slag him off such is their desperation to back their hero and get a sniff of the champions league. Seriously wierd.
  5. Eh? He's already in the meida spotlight due to his work on sky. Of course he's going to be asked for his view on events at the club, he's a media pundit and our greatest ever player!!! MLT is entitled to his view more than anyone given the service he gave to the club. And whilst he has made it clear he doesn't like Cortese he is also on record as saying he wont lift the lid fully as it's not in the best interests of the club. I find it really odd how some of our fans and i can only assume its ones that didn't know him as a player, as slagging him off.
  6. Maybe we deliberately lost in the cup so we could do this trip? It's all staring to fall into place now....
  7. Don't think it smacks of a sturrock 'this is how we did things at Plymouth' mentality then?
  8. Tsk. They speak Catalonian in Barcelona you heathen.
  9. The last time SFC and Barcelona were in the same country we came home with Ronnie Eklund. More of the same please MP.
  10. After taking charge tonight will be to take the team to Barcelona for a few days team building and training. Good thing or bad thing saintsweb? Is he missing home already? Can he handle the attention on him at the moment? Does this have echoes of Sturrock and the constant bleating about how they did things at his old club which annoyed the players. Or is it a great idea to get the team away for a bit, get to know the players and have a few says training in a decent climate? Will you believe this? Will franks cousin demand evidence of this? Over to the mongboard to discuss......
  11. Les Reed has a fantastic track record and shouldn't be knocked. He is well respected at Bishops Stortford and once wrote the coaching manual for England.
  12. So why were you arguing with me when we were saying the same thing?
  13. Nothing to say on the amazing coincidence that he just happened to fall in love with a club that was a bargain, already had an infrastructure and he potential to play in the richest league in the world, rather than his local team then?
  14. You evidently haven't read the whole thread.
  15. so actually when you said he wanted to fall in love with any club, what you actually meant was that he wanted to buy and fall in love with not just any club but one that had the potential to play in the richest and most high profile league in the world. and he did it all because he just wanted to fall in love with that club, absolutely and completely not because one day it would compete and reap the rewards of playing in the richest league in the world. Glad we've cleared that up.
  16. but he just wanted to fall in love with a club you said. WHy not make it easy for hmself and fall in love with one on his doorstep?
  17. but you said he wanted to fall in love with a club, any club. so why not just buy one in his homeland and save the hassle of travelling? Its just an amazing conincidence that he happened to buy one with a top class set up that plays in the country which has richest league in the world for an absolute bargain isn't it.
  18. That probably happened whilst he was here, but when he was looking for a club and anyone would have done, like MLG says, why not buy one in Switzerland 4th division? He bought a club in England because of the riches on offer in the premier league. No amount of romaticising is going to change that.
  19. Romantic bullsh it. No surprise though coming from you.
  20. not many people buy a premier league standard club with a premier league standard staidum and training ground + a load of land (Jacksons Farm) for £13m.....
  21. You think they brought us because they loved the club then?
  22. This is what makes me laugh. People seem to think all this happened because of some deep seated love for the club and the cityand couldn't bear to see it go under. It was because they could pick up a club with premier league potential for a snip. I dont doubt that ML may have fallen in love with the club a little once he was here but lets not make out it was brought for any more reason than a good opportunity to make a bit of cash from buying a club cheaply, investing in it and selling it on for a huge profit in the future. i;m not saying that is wrong or i dont appreciate ML's investment, but that is how it is.
  23. middlesborough? I thought they all liked steve Gibson Definitely Swansea.
