  1. He made the appointment in April 2010, he's had over 2 years to correctt he mistake. He isn't learning very quickly is he!!! When i say nothing to do with football matter, i mean very little. Hes a banker, so you'd hope he would leave most of the football decisons to people who (supposedly) know what they are doing. I'm sure Andy Crosby didn't tell Cortese what bank to get the loan from!
  2. Nope, still not sure how i've contradicted myself. I didn't hear people saying Delia Smith was still learning when Norwich were relegated. AS CEO NC should have near enough FA to do with football matters, this should be left to the people he has employed to take care of these issues. He should be in the background doing the things CEO's do, so why is our crap performance this season got anything to do with the CEO learning the job? This should be taken care off by people employed to take care of these things. Unless you're telling me that at 59 years old Corteses advisior is "still learning"!!
  3. We've already been over my view on Reeds role in the promotions. I'm not doing it again.
  4. I dont really get what you mean Colin? How have i contradicted myself? You said the club was learning and this is the excuse, not me. And as you and i both said, he has an advisor. This advisor is a man whose glowing CV includes 0 games of top flight playing experience, being sacked by the FA, voted the worst manager in history at Charlton and assist manager at the mighty Bishops Stortford. That is the man advising our CEO on football decision. I dont buy your "club is learning" excuse because we have a trusted advisor helping the CEO.
  5. He's the CEO. He has had three years experience in football and is a banker who knew nothing about the game when he joined us. Surely you would surround yourself with people who know what they are doing? Experienced people, that he would listen too, apart from Les Reed who else is there that he listens to and takes advice from? The excuse that the club is learning is quite frankly a load of boll*cks.
  6. Totally agree. It was dubbed the Cult of Cortese as a joke but it is almost how it is. Some people just cant bare to hear anything bad said about him, however small. Immediately they go on the attack at the person who said it. They blindly trot out the "In Cortese we trust" mantra and demand proof whilst anything positve i lauded as being amazing. It is almost cultlike.
  7. yep and anyone who dared to say this in the past has been jumped on as having an "agenda" Nigel is carrying the can for the faliure of others. It's very sad to see it. He's made mistakes but where we are is as much to do with others as him.
  8. I said the same thing and agree wholeheartedly with your last comment.
  9. And the fact is we NEED to spend cash to stay up. Dont see that being an issue TBH. Will he be the first manager to be booed on his first game? If it happens of course.
  10. I've done the same.
  11. Nixon was just asked if there are any truth in the rumours and he said "i expect this to happen" Could be gospel, could be a nothing comment from a lying journalist. I'll leave you to decide. edit. Now tweeted "heard he would go last night from someone with an interest in the scene. Expect some news today"
  12. Yes, i'm really struggling to think of a better one. The fanciful names like Benitez and Laurent Blanc apart. The ideal man for the job is Claudio Ranieri but cant see him leaving Monaco for a relegation fight.
  13. That's all Reeds role though. He said himself Adkins focues on the coaching and he is director of the science, academy, recruitment and kit departments.
  14. Even now, 5 (?) years on, it never fails to raise laugh.
  15. He would get us established a premier league club. He is too old to be considered the long term answer anyway.
  16. Exactly. He'd be perfect. Give him a 2 1/2 year deal, establish us in the premier league, which he would do and then let him go. All those going on about youth players, the reality is the likes of Shaw and JWP are 17 years old would still be barely 20 by the time he went, most players dont really break into premier league sides at that age anway.
  17. He is the ideal man to establish us as a premier league club in the short term. I dont like the bloke but the reality is there are few available who are better.

Isn't it time we gave Cody Cropper a run out?
  19. I will keep an eye on it. Be sure of that.
  20. I asked you a question. What criteria do you apply to decide if Wesh Ham are bigger than Doncaster? They were in the same divison only last season. And if your not confident to conclude we are bigger than Stoke, Norwich, Fulham than is it fair to say we are of similar size to them and therefore they also dont belong in the premier league?
  21. So based on that would be be fair to say the club does belong in the premier league and does have the infrastructure to be there, but some of the people at the top dont or aren't able to?
  22. But what criteria so you use to judge? Why are West Ham bigger?
  23. And in all of these games he's done exactly what to prove that he is the man to do this?
  24. Who is the bigger club. West Ham or Doncaster?
  25. I am predicting this happens and will report back. Just for the record an academy player (not including Lallana) has appeared in every game this season except Fulham when we got injuries. Including bizarre subsitutions of changing the left back for an academy player when we've been losing and chasing the game in the last two.
