I dont think he's better and Lallana is worth more than £5, i find it ammusing all those desperate to protect their heroes. Oh but he's out captain, oh but hes younger, Jarvis is injured blah blah blah. No one's really come up with any reasons as to why Lallana is worth nearly £5m more than Jarvis other than because this forum says so.
-
Turkey boy, LOLZ!!!!! Lallana didn't get a cap, he called got called up to the squad. He hasnt' actually got a cap. Obviously the point being around AOC was that he was widely regarded as one of, if not the best young player in the country and he has plenty of time to improve doesn't he, isn't this one of the key reasons why Lallana is worth far more than Jarvis ever will or is signing potential not important now?? Good point about Lallanas value dropping if we were to go down, i wonder what Jarvis would have been if Wolves had stayed up? £10.75m is a lot for a player that is at a championship club isn't it, i wonder what it dropped from? Silly me, it'd still be much less than Lallanas because Jarvis got injured or something and his market value is mich higher than Jarvis because this forum says so.
-
NO! NO! NO! Lallana is worth £15m because he is. Jarvis is not worth anywhere near has much because he got injured. The fact that he is a proven premier league player is totally irrevelant because Lallana might get better.
-
Are you and MLG related? I love it how people get all nit picky whenever anyone dare say a player at another club might be worth more than one of their heroes. By your reakoning we got shafted on the AOC deal because at the age of 17 AOC has 9 years to reach the level Jarvis is at, so £12m for him was a disaster when Jarvis was worth £10.75m at the grand old age of 26 as AOC is much younger and has more potential to improve. Wasn't NC lauded as being a great businessman for getting £12m out of Arsenal? Sounds like we got done on the deal. I love it when people use the "But but but but, he's out captain" as proof of his worth. So was Dan Hammond, is he worth £15m?! Oh no that's right, he's on loan to a championship club! I'm also not quite sure what you mean by saying "he was still playing championship football when he was bought" He was signed in the summer after Wolves had been relegated and he'd has a couple of seasons and premier league football and an England cap under his belt. Catch up sunshine or you'll get the Mr Wrong label as well.

I can see why you've got me on ignore Les.

Didn't we regularly finish in the top half in the 80's with 2nd and 5th finishes in 1984 and 1985, or has this been erased and football only started in 1992?
-
Oh dear Mr Wrong, some glaring errors and overlooking a number of FACTS Jarvis has an England cap, Lallana doesnt, he is proven in the premier league, Lallana isn't yet. 14 games is not a proven premier league player. So as Jarvis is two years old that makes him in his prime, so worth more. Dean Hammond was our captain last season, what happened to him? As for your WRONG comment about contracts Jarvis contract at Wolves expired in 2015, the same year as Lallanas so he actually had MORE time left on his contract when he left that Lallana does now. Come on Matthew, i thought you'd know all these details. Oh and by the way your opinion is irrelevant as to his ability, this is the real world, not football manager.
-
Why do you think Lallana is worth £6m more than Matt Jarvis?
-
Yes, Very lazy and arrogant.
-
What it does show is lazy readerism. It quite clearly says its a £5m starting bid so actually great journalism. Obviously we'd want way more than £5m so round of applause for the journalist for getting it spot on that it's a starting bid and correctly reporting that Lallana has been one of our better performers and Pardew is a long term admirer. Brilliant journalism and I applaud his knowledge, sensible and realist reporting.

DI Matteo didn't get the Valencia job when he was expected too. I think he might well be our manager soon.
-
if one win in four is decent form (at home to Swansea) then I suppose they were. And please dont tell me you think they played well when we played them. They were terrible.
-
It's called squad rotation Matthew. I would think we'd be in an excellent position if we had an experienced first choice player with a very talented young player to come through and be brought into the side on occasions with a view to being the first choice one in a couple of season, wouldnt you? It's very unfair on Shaw and very stupid to depend on a 17 year old still learning the game to be playing week in week out in a side that is 90% likely to be in a relegation scrap and the pressure that goes with it. Dont you agree?

There you go Matthew.

fridel would be a great signing. Still a quality keeper and the experience we need.
-
We are yet to beat a team when the other side has played well. Villa, QPR & Newcastle were all in poor form and awful on the day we played them. We are yet to win a game where like against Norwich and Fulham, the other team have actually put up a bit of a fight and actually played okay.
-
The comittee balls up. There is no doubt about this. We've got £10m worth of strikers sitting on the bench most week whilst we've got 3 goal keepers not up to it, having to play a 17 year old at left back and at least one centre back short. We've also got a bit lucky with Puncheon, remember he couldn't get near the side for the last two years. I really dont see how people can attempt to defend this.
