barcelona and southampton development philosophy

We're coming for you, we're coming for you, you dirty catalan b*stardos we're coming for you. -
I don't get this, the prices didn't 'shoot up' my season ticket went up £50 and is only £125 more now than when we first moved to SMS. That's an increase of only £10 a year since 2001.

A classi modern football person. Not a Saints fan, a football consumer.

This goes back to the old argument of if you go to watch Saints or the opposition. If you are happy to see saints be plucky, try hard losers like we were against Man U and City or of you want to see a us win a game. Most going to Arsenal just wanted to keep the score down and would have been happy with a 2-0 loss. Is that right? is that what some of you lot want. Who enjoyed the Arsenal game? Afterall some want to see the best quality of football possible and you can't deny that theirs was top notch. A lot seem to have been sold on the sky dream, that there nothing outside the premier league matters, it's all about seeing the opposition, about seeing Man U and City and these superstars coming to your town or city, you're irreverent of you're not part of it. So you lot enjoy your top quality football from the opposition and dreams of finishing 15th, for those of us that enjoy seeing Saints win, give me the championship anyday.
-
No, it's winning the championship and refusing promotion.
-
Nah, it's because unlike the premier league it's competitive.

I don't smoke but I am partial to one of these now and again.

The Cenos, Lizard Lounge, Fez Bar, Orange Rooms, Rhino era was superb, all the helmets used to go to places like Yates and Chicago Rock and leave the decent places top of town and Bedord Place to us. Now with thst place that used to be Cenos, Varsity there and a junk trying and failing to be what the Rhino it seems no where is safe to escape the bulbs in Southampton. -
I'm not being negative or cynical, just given the sort of person Adkins is and how we supposedly do our business, did anyone expect him to say he was worried? Its just the usual media trained, up beat stance he always take, not a fantastic positive interview which eases everyone concerns.

We did bid for Phillips, I was told personally by a friend of his who has known him since he was 6. Phillips wanted the move and handed in a transfer request. Blackpool wouldn't play ball. I posted a bit about it on here at the time and got about 50 PMs asking for information. f course because he never signed it must mean it never happened and we were never interested and Nixon and everyone else is making it up.
-
Did anyone really expect him to say he's worried about his job and he doesn't get on with the chairman?
-
What happened to it being possible because they said once man would never walk on the moon?
-
Must have got lucky again.
-
Phil the Octopus would have the same success rate.
-
Yes, because it would be entirely professional and sensible for a respected journalist to come out and state who his source is at the club, especially given what what you say is Corteses view on such matters, wouldn't it you prat. Like a lot of the clowns on here, happy to take what he says as positive as gospel, dismiss anything negative as bollo*ks.
-
According to some posters on here he knows f*ck all because he dared to say that we didn't know what centre halves we wanted a week before the window shut, despite all you correctly state above.
-
one thing is for sure if we get Rafa we can certainly gurantee the end to sloppy goals conceded and individual errors.
-
Are there? Apart from a couple on the internet i'm yet to come across anyone that does and certainly on one in the real world. The fact of the matter is there is clearly some tension and a lot of the speculation is that people expect Cortese to act quickly if things are going wrong.
-
Didn't we play a friendly against them and Ball was told he was available so snapped him up? Once he got here it came to light he need an op on his back, he wouldn't have it and there was some problem that meant he couldn't play in this country? Memory is a little hazy on this but definitely remember something to do with his back and an op.

Could be like Eklund and Le Tiss, hope it lasts longer!

What are you on about? He's got plenty of respect. It's just most people realise he was shall we say, limited. Although a fitter, more committed player you'll never find.
