  1. That's right, because Pele missed out being universally regarded as one of, if not the best player to have ever graced the planet because he was black didn't he.
  2. Or Uwe Rosler being here.
  3. I think a part of this had to do with the fact that at the start of the season some of our fans were annoyed we hadn't kept Antonio and or Waigo (oh look black players) and felt that, certainly Antonios case, he was a better play. I recall myself being involved in a number of discussion on here early in the season about which player was better.
  4. I am sure there are some fans who are racist, in 20,000 odd thousand people it's sadly inevitable. However if Puncheon was booed for this reason then so should Jaidi, Chamberlain, Walcott, Waigo, Antonio, Mellis and going way back Ken Monkou, Danny Wallace, Rodney Wallace etc. I am not quite sure what you are claiming or trying to justify but saying some of our fans are racist because they didn't like one black player who had an attitude and has shown himself to be a bit of ***** in his time here when there are dozens of examples of black players who have been popular because they haven't got an attitude is, shall we say a little bit wierd and imaging a problem when there isn't one.
  5. err, Here.
  6. I remember when we first moved to St Marys having a dream we had Michael Ballack playing in central midfield for us, he was still playing in Germany at the time and we were 3-0 up against Aston Villa at half time with him pulling the strings and playing brilliantly. Thats about all i can remember to be honest.
  7. Didn't he throw a hissy fit when told he was on the bench and refuse to travel with the team for an away game? Shortly after he went to either Blackpool or Millwall cant remember which one it was.
  8. Like he says, he has no evidence of what he is alledging, it's a very odd thing to come out with. To me it was quite obvious that fans percieved him to be lazy and didn't put a shift in and appeared to not want to be here, nothing to do with the colour of his skin. In the same way that fans loved Waigo and Antonio, because they worked hard, tried hard and appeared to enjoy being here. I dont think he really believes this, just trying to wind people up.
  9. What about the fact that people considered Waigo and Antionio some sort of footballing god when they clearly aren't, they were desperate to sign them, when it was clear we never were going to. Even into the season people banged on about how much we missed them and as it turned out we didn't. Strange that for fans base which has racist elements in it.
  10. Based on what?
  11. I dont recall Puncheon or Guly being booed either, given stick but not booed. The only player who has been this season was N'Gessen and that was because he was awful.
  12. Either you are on a wind up or are f*cking mental.
  13. In the last year or so our illustrious leader on here Steve Grant has been labelled Saints Trust vice chairman by the Echo, also a character called Jason McFeat has been called this. To be fair to Nick, i dont think he uses this title himself, it's more that the echo chose to label people with it. Regardless of if you agree with him or not, sometimes i do, sometimes i dont, at least he has an opinion and questions the club rather than blindly repeating the "in Nicola we trust" mantra.
  14. This. DPS has some sort of bizarre agenda to drive as he has mention this several times this season, very odd i must say.
  15. Hammond, Chaplow, Davis, Harding and Lambert have come in for some stick this season, what's the reason for this?
  16. JUst out of interest, how many of you still think Antonio is better than Puncheon?
  17. That's because it's the greatest league in the world.
  18. Liverpool were linked with him a few months ago, i'd put him alongside Scott Parker, Shay Given & Michael Owen in the "maybe" pile.
  19. Whats the most you'd pay for premier league football then you lot?? I know a lot of you dreamers think we can make the Champions league but realistically for a club like Saints i'd have to question if PL football was for me when you are talking about paying upwards of £40 a game for us to be in a relegation battle year after year. I certainly wouldn't want to pay it to see us just trying to keep the score down against the big clubs or nick a lucky win here and there. I'd probably go to £40 if we were doing well and finishing upper midtable though. I get pleasure from seeing Saints win, not being battling losers, hence i'm in no rush to get back to the premier league, most definitely not if we have to pay twice as much as we currently do to see us win probably less than half as often.
  20. FFS, he'll be saying he missed 10 minutes of the first half as well get one of those bloody awful Pukka Pies they used to see at the Dell. I suppose at least you could still see the pitch from some of the Outlets though.
  21. I remember it being even less than that, The first game i went to 1985, was £1.50 for children £3.50 for adults. As a kid I used to be able to get the bus to and from the Dell, get in and have a McDonalds afterwards with my £6 a week paper round money.
  22. IIRC Crouch didnt even start under Sturrrock, he was signed in the summer and Sturrock only had 2 games as his boss. I'm with you on this one, we were direct but it wasn't that much different to Stachan, we were direct under him but people didn't moan about because it was successful. The reason for our relegation was that it was a team in decline and had been since the cup final. Injuries to key players, our more experienced players coming to the end of their careers, good players being sold and not adequately replaced and Lowes transfer policy of "one for the squad" signing plenty of average players rather than good ones. I didn't agree with Sturrocks appointment but in his time here was wasn't as bad as some made out and his results were actually reasonable.
  23. My problem is i am fine when i dont drink, if i dont have any i dont want any. It's when i do drink that it's a problem, once i reach my 3-4 drink threashold i cant stop! Seriously got into some right old states not knowing when it's too much, missus always said i had an addictive personality and the problem is when i'm like that it's when i get myself into trouble FFS
  24. Good to see our new striker finishing well against Blackpool
