Liverpool were linked with him a few months ago, i'd put him alongside Scott Parker, Shay Given & Michael Owen in the "maybe" pile.

Whats the most you'd pay for premier league football then you lot?? I know a lot of you dreamers think we can make the Champions league but realistically for a club like Saints i'd have to question if PL football was for me when you are talking about paying upwards of £40 a game for us to be in a relegation battle year after year. I certainly wouldn't want to pay it to see us just trying to keep the score down against the big clubs or nick a lucky win here and there. I'd probably go to £40 if we were doing well and finishing upper midtable though. I get pleasure from seeing Saints win, not being battling losers, hence i'm in no rush to get back to the premier league, most definitely not if we have to pay twice as much as we currently do to see us win probably less than half as often.

FFS, he'll be saying he missed 10 minutes of the first half as well get one of those bloody awful Pukka Pies they used to see at the Dell. I suppose at least you could still see the pitch from some of the Outlets though.
-
I remember it being even less than that, The first game i went to 1985, was £1.50 for children £3.50 for adults. As a kid I used to be able to get the bus to and from the Dell, get in and have a McDonalds afterwards with my £6 a week paper round money.

IIRC Crouch didnt even start under Sturrrock, he was signed in the summer and Sturrock only had 2 games as his boss. I'm with you on this one, we were direct but it wasn't that much different to Stachan, we were direct under him but people didn't moan about because it was successful. The reason for our relegation was that it was a team in decline and had been since the cup final. Injuries to key players, our more experienced players coming to the end of their careers, good players being sold and not adequately replaced and Lowes transfer policy of "one for the squad" signing plenty of average players rather than good ones. I didn't agree with Sturrocks appointment but in his time here was wasn't as bad as some made out and his results were actually reasonable.

My problem is i am fine when i dont drink, if i dont have any i dont want any. It's when i do drink that it's a problem, once i reach my 3-4 drink threashold i cant stop! Seriously got into some right old states not knowing when it's too much, missus always said i had an addictive personality and the problem is when i'm like that it's when i get myself into trouble FFS

Good to see our new striker finishing well against Blackpool

What a bunch of mugs. It always makes me laugh the amount of "Big cats" we see in this country. People in Tanzania and Kenya (i've been to both) have never seen a Lion or a Leopard, yet in this country they are on every street corner according to some FFS!!

This is true, i used to go to games expecting to lose. Notts Forest, Wolves and Doncaster home were pretty depressing afternoons.

Elliot Ward said his goodbyes to Cov players and was waiting to be told to meet up with his new team mates, hardly vague claims of signings. The simple fact is and say what you like, nothing has been made official, when he is listed as staff or announced on the offical site, then and only then can we take his comments seriously.

2009 was almost surreal. I remember being at the Burnley game, Itchen north and the main concearn at the time, just a week or so into adminstration was about the club suriving, when we got relegated it was almost an after thought that we had failed to win, therefore down. In fact, i think i didn't realise until a minute or so after the final whislt went. Then it was all about the future of the club and getting behind the team. We might have been sh*t that season but you cant blame the players at least the team gave their all. I felt that winning at home to stay up the season before was the lowest we could bottom out, how wrong i was. 2005. I watched the 2005 relegation on a widescreen TV surrounded by Man Utd fans, i expected us to lose and go down but it was the gutless nature of the team in the run up to that which hurts the most. Pompey away, the players were beaten before they even got on the pitch, Villa, Boro, Everton, Fulham, Palace at home, Blackburn away, Tottenham away, so dire gutless displays. Relegation from the PL for a club like saints shouldn't be a shock, it's more of a shock that we survived for so long given we had players like DAvid Lee, Lee Todd, Stuart Ripley and Co playing for us. 2005 was worse though, due to the lack of bottle from the players, we went down without a wimper, i hope to never, ever see that from a Saints team again.

He signed for us last January according to Sky Sports.
-
Spin it how you want, we were told by NC himself only to believe what is on the OS. His appointment has not been announced on there and he is not listed as staff. Until he is, as far as i am concearned his comments mean nothing and is to scouting what Elliot Ward was to new centre halves.
-
F*ck off the lot of you, no one says talks about advertising space better than Robbie Williams, not even Nick Illingsworth. FACT
-
Elliot Ward. FACT
-
Yes the article says that but is anything on the offical site yet? We all know and have been told by Cortese that nothing is for sure until it's on there. Before you all start specualting on what AC Millan, Barcelona and Real Madrid players we are signing. Remember Elliot Ward FFS?

Many people underestimate the size of Rangers and Celtic, they are both massive clubs who would be top 4 contenders in they played in the PL. However, their games are the only reason to watch scottish football, the Queens 11 v the Fenian c*nts.
-
Has this geezer actually been appointed yet? As far as we know nothing official from the club, so in that case his comments are as vaild as mine and yours. When he is on the payroll, then and only then, can we take him seriously.

I dont know really, what was clear was the team had no bottle. Throwing away a 2 goal lead at home to Villa, so many late goals conceded, totally bottling it at Fratton, looking at the players in the tunnel before the game they had lost before they'd even got on the pitch, a team in our position should have been fired up to shut them up. Bottling it at Blackburn, a limp performance in front of 3,500 travelling fans. There was no belief or fight in the team, thats what relegated us, not not spending £20m in the transfer window.
-
Cheers mate, they look perfect, are they reasonable price wise?
-
and a lot moaned then that we had released too many, squad was weaker etc. Just what is the exact correct number of players to release?
-
Degale and Cleverly wins.

Chez, post 59 on this thread "I know a lot of teams coming up have done well in the NPC, but they have all upgraded their first team. We don't look like we are going to"
-
LOL @ this thread, the season for us finished just under 2 weeks ago, the whole season in England has not yet finished yet, the transfer window doesn't open for another 6 weeks. I cant see any other club in the country signing a a player yet, although i am sure Nick G or someone of his ilk can find a couple of clubs that have made a signing. Yet already people are saying we look like we aren't going to strengthen or upgrade our squad, you couldn't make it up, whilst others are saying we are signing Micheal Owen, only on The Saints Web, FFS.
