Yeah, that'd be lovely, we could stop for a cream tea, go and look in the window of some of the trinket shops in Lyndhurst, much better than going to support the team i proffessed my undying love for on sunday.

Worth getting a travel card if you are doing the journey most saturdays then isn't it. http://www.railcard.co.uk/network In just four home games the card pays for itself, for the other 19 home games of the season you are efficently getting 4 of them free with the amount you are saving on the cost of transport with your travel card. See, solution to every problem/excuse.

i agree, maybe a more appropriate song for Wembley on sunday would have been "stand up if you love the saints when there is a big games but cant be bother to get of my arse the rest of the time"
-
Using that logic if we were born in Litchenstein then you or I would have a great chance of being a profesional footballer, population of 35,000, half of them women, gives a pool of 17k men to choose from, probably only half of the suitable age to be footballer, f'k it, i'm going to apply for residency.
-
Obviously going for a walk in the new forest is more entertaining than seeing the team you stood up and claimed to love on sundays frantic push for promotion.
-
I did. I just hope by that comment though that you mean there is more chance of osama bin laden sh**ing in the queens handbag than Rickie Lambert playing for England
-
What i'd rather is that people supported the club and went to watch saints rather than the occasion or the other team.
-
No, i said 5000 from outside a 50 miles radius of Southampton, both Weymouth and Andover are in this zone.
-
Yeah there is, its called jumping on the bandwagon and being a plastic fan. Do they support Saints or the occasion, and at the "big" games, Pompey, Leeds etc which team are they going to watch? As i say, not everyone can or wants to go every week, but you'd expect all these people that had such a "whoop whoop day, OMG wemberlee was soooo amazin' lol!! " to get off there arse at least a handful of times a season and go now and again. I bet these sames ones who didn't watch the last five years of dross but would expect a ticket for the play off finals and be moaning about all the corporate tickets if they cant get one.
-
so are you saying the 30,000 fans that were at Wembley that dont go regularly/at all all work in the retail sector?
-
smae could be said for sundays, didn't hear many people citing work commitments as a reason they couldn't go on sunday.
-
Good man, she should expect to drive anyway, i mean why else would a woman be allowed to go to football?
-
smal point but only two of those players were Redknapp signings. Makes you wonder though doesn't it, if Lowe had not been such a tightarse and let Redknapp sign who he wanted then i think he would have kept us up. It waas obvious that team wasn't good enough from the first day of the season.
-
With all john Terrys problems off the field how about giving Chris Perry a go at Centre back? His experience could prove vital in a world cup semi final.
-
Why should it? Billy Sharp has started banging them in recently in the CCC, should he be calld up too? What about Pitman for Bournemouth he has had a good season? Do you you seriously think if David Beckham, a player who has played for three of the worlds biggest clubs, won every domestic trophy there is to win and over 100 England caps, was told to play in on of the top European leagues or he wouldn't be picked then a league one striker is going to be on Capellos thoughts?
-
relatively poor from any generation of players, Keith Curle and Geoff Thomas in particular where particularly appalling. Some people seriously though we'd win Sweden 92, is it any wonder we only scored once and didn't win a game. A 17 year old kid who had never played in top flight being picked for the England world cup squad? Think you're right though, a third division striker unproven at any level higher than that league playing in a world cup for a supposed top football nation would be particularly bizarre.
-
On the train on the way back someone said, when i was young i was scared of the dentists, he was a paedophile. Gave a whole new meaning to i'm going to give you a filling.
-
Jeff thomas, Keith Curle, andy Sinton and carlton Palmer all being in the same England squad.
-
i remember being at the Dell in the mid to late eighties when crowds of 15-16000 were common place before the capacity was reduced. I remember one game during the Branfoot era when the crowd was only about 9,000 with a sit in protest after the game. There is no doubt our fan base has grown, but i do question which team some of these so called saints fans go to watch.
-
The old Division two or the current champsionship and his England career was long and distiguished wasn't it. Dont be so ridiculous, Lambert may be good at this level or the one above but would you seriously have him playing for England ahead of even this likes of Carlton Cole?
-
Agree with that, i remember going to Leeds c1997? We won 1-0 and Carlton Palmer got sent off and there was only about 500 there. If the missing 30k also manged to get off their arse and go to half a dozen games a season then we would sell out every week, funnily enough we had no problems in the premier league. What team to they go to watch?
-
good point, me too
-
It may be a lot for division 3 but i wonder where the other 30,000 "fans" that were at Wembley sunday, plus all the the others that wanted a ticket but couldn't get one, are every week. I dont see people posting on here with their seat, row and block number when we had Stockport at home or Brentford away.
-
but what about our fans? If one in two that were at Wembley turn up then should be 26k home fans, i think it is more than reasonable to expect a minimum of 50% of what we took to Wembley be attending matches regularly at home. So why is our average home attendance only 21k?
-
i like the guy, think he's a decent player but also a right character and seems to really enjoy playing football and enjoy playing for us, you cant ask for anymore really.
