  1. They were when he didn’t have the ball, remember?
  2. If he doesn’t sign this week I wil seriously question the ambition of the club
  3. Someone on the Porto forum is posting frantically about how they’d seen him play in a 9-0 loss for Saints, gave away a penalty, scored and own goal and got sent off. His login name might be Patazul a former goalkeeping coach at Benfica
  4. Why do we have this nonsense? My social media is alive with posts about chole Kelly would get in a top six team, Lauren James is the best player on the world and the hate for Womens football etc. They’ve just won the euros for the second time in a row. Please STFU about the comparisons to men’s football and enjoy it technically some might be good enough but sheer physicality says they can’t compete. Let’s remind ourselves that international women’s teams have lost to U15 boys teams heavily. It’s not even a discussion and does the women’s game No favours before thick fucks on here say this is an attack on women it isn’t it’s letting them have their well deserved glory and stop the comparisons it’s fucking stupid
  5. If this is real then whoever is responsible deserves a huge payrise
  6. Thanks Jan. 8 years service for 5m quid. Thrust in at the deep end because our other defenders were so poor. A competent, solid enough player but should never have been first choice in a premier league team. A decent guy wish him well at Porto
  7. Exactly. Said it a few times now tournament football is a squad game. The manager got it spot on. People were moaning Kelly should start etc but the fact is she came on as sub and made an impact in every game and had left the tournament with a winners medal and with her stock never higher. im stil laughing that the dopey old fool took the post as me having a problem with women when I quite clearly said she was the star of the tournament and teams that win tournament's are the ones they use their squad the best and have the best team spirit. What an attack on them. 😂😂😂😂
  8. Yep particularly low shots, get a shot hard and low and it seemed to end up in the net it didn’t even need to be on target. He seems to go down very slowly for such a young keeper and even when he did get his hand to them most of the time he’d not be able to keep them out. In his time here I dont remember him ever making a save that’s won us a point or two and his command of the area and crosses is really poor
  9. Obviously I’d rather keep him but if we get a decent loan fee for a year and we go up then he’s still our player and we keep him or don’t need to sell so can ask for a bigger fee, if we don’t go up then he’ll have played a year of premier league football he’ll have two years left on his contact so his value certainly won’t have decreased that’s for sure, even go up if he makes the World Cup squad
  10. Sog laughing and desperately trying to have a go which is quite frankly embarrassing for him the post was actually a compliment to the depth of the squad and the managers tactics. Kelly was hero despite being a sub, showing that the squad, tactics and substitute were absolutely spot from the manager and shows the depth in quality that they had. The point being would Kelly have been as effective if she’d starter every game, rather than used as a game changer? Possibly not, for one fatigue is a big factor in tournaments if she’d played every minute of every game would she still be putting in quality crosses late on in a final having played 3 league games and 3 120 minute knock outs in 3 weeks. Possibly not. What it did mean though was she was fresh to make a difference in tights games when it mattered and she did. it was also was a compliment to the team spirit, tactics, squad depth, good subs. All the things needed to win a tournament. Quite often the best team on paper don’t win the tournament. England men got the euro final despite being shit in every game for example. We won it the tactics and selections were spot on yet in SOG bitter little world where he had achieved so little it as all a dig at women and Chloe Kelly what a fool 😂😂😂😂😂
  11. You really didn’t understand anything of what I’d posted did you, such was your desperation to have a pop. quite simply one of the most desperately embarrassing posts you’ve ever made. Imagine being so bitter and stupid you confuse a post which is a compliment to an attack on women 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
  12. Can anyone remember how many points we won because of Baz in the 3 years he’s been here? im Sure we can all list quite a few we points lost because of him as a wise man once said a good goalkeeper wins you 12 points a season. weve got one that costs us that unless he signifantly improved is that going to change this year?
  13. Yep that’s another one which is unfathomable. Decent competent keeper with premier league experience available for free and we instead spent £11m on a keeper who’d never played above league one level it’s beggars belief. Both with Baz as back up id get but just Baz was and is mental
  14. I’ve always rated Pope good solid keeper in world where everyone’s obsessed by how they play out he does the basics well. Good shot stopper commands the area very vocal. He’s probably not helped by the facts he’s worked his way up from Charlton to Burnley to Newcastle rather than being a hipster keeper taught how to play out at a big club
  15. Oh Gavin Bazunu our number one he came from Man City and we overpaid the fee now he’s on the south coast as an agent for Pompey
  16. Why? If we get a £5m loan fee and his wages covered then that’s a good deal for all involved. We get a fee and the wages off the books, he gets to play top end premier league and Europe and we can reassess things in the summer. I’d say a good deal for everyone.
  17. There is a lot of truth in what you say. It’s like winning the rugby or cricket World Cup, it’s a great achievement and should be celebrated but the reality is you probably need to only beat 2-3 good teams to win it. I loved it when England won the cricket and rugby World Cup, brilliant, dramatic matches and although I missed the game yesterday was pleased they won it but quite simply winning the football euros or World Cup is much, much tougher thing to do. Most teams are no pushovers once you get to the knockouts and tournament football is a completely different ball game, it’s rarely the best team that win it but usually the one with the best squad, most resilience and team spirit. people moaning about Chloe Kelly not starting but the fact of the matter is she’s been the star of the tournament being a sub, which proves the point. Winning tournaments is not about picking the best team but having a squad which allows you to make those sort of changes. I’d wager England wouldn’t have won it had they started her and our striker friend in every game.
  18. Like i said mate of all the millions of singers in the world I just happened to chose a Newcastle fan, of all of his hundreds of songs just happened to chose Arms length. All just yet another amazing coincidence with club and postion both pretty clear. It’s amazing how many times we get these amazing coincidences isn’t it
  19. I know a lot of people will disagree with this and go on about competing at the top level, finances of club but us being in the premier league is pointless. It’s a sham of a “competition” set up exclusively to make the big clubs riches by appealing to the global audiences on TV and making as much money as possible. Everyone else is just cannon fodder who might get the odd few seasons of relative success but soon put back in their box.
  20. Forgot to remind you we told you about Captain Jacks new deal too
  21. I’m glad you enjoyed it pal and glad for all the younger ones who grew up listening to it because their dad or older brother was a fan for to see them. Also the dads who could take their sons, mine would have loved to see them he’s learnt quite a few of their songs on his guitar but he’s probably a bit too young and small to be in a standing crowd at the moment. as I said in my original post I guess this was like Stone Roses for me, I was a bit too young first time round but listened to them for 20 odd years before finally got to see and was buzzing. Heaton Park was amazing, then saw them at Leeds and the Eithiad first two great shows third one was no where near as good im Sure it was a great show, but like I said I know of at least 3 people who went to one of the gigs who I’ve known for years who haven’t really been interested in them since What’s the story when they started to become a bit less cool plus the countless celebs jumping on the bandwagon. Anyway glad you enjoyed it’s the ones who want to be there because they want to be seen there are the ones who get in my nerves
  22. And just like that the facts come alive over a month ago I told you about this one. in sure all the usual suspects will say it’s bollocks but of all the singers in the world I chose a Newcastle fan and his song Arms length, clear reference to a goal keeper, just another amazing coincidence of course 🙄
  23. Careful some might be logging into chat gbt with that comment calling @Sheaf Saint to the thread to be suitably offended
  24. Quite amusing the amount of bandwagon jumping going on with this. I haven’t bothered going this time as a veteran seeing them many times in their heyday including Maine Road and Slaine Castle thought I’d leave it to the others The amount of celebrities and other people I know on social media who up until recently had shown zero interest in oasis are now saying it was an amazing night one of the greatest of their lives etc.
