  1. Isn't it just like the world used to be 100 years ago when everyone worked near where they live, went to the local pub, local shops, kids went to the local school and had a friendly local community? I think theyre a great idea, unless of course the part of the plan they arent telling us is to erect huge electric fences around them to stop anyone ever leaving them.
  2. But but but but but not everyone there was there was involved. Thousands of protesters only a couple of hundred arrested, hundreds of police, only a few injured, tens of millions of pounds worth of property, only a couple of millions worth of damage, so yes it was largely peaceful

All of my mates are black or statue protecting racists. They all got put on furlough and asked to work but refused and told their boss it was illegal. When the boss told one of the black lads “you better get to work sambo or I’ll fire you” one the statue protector lads reported him to his boss and got the guy fired then ironed him out in the car park on his way home racists bosses, furlough scamming tories 0 statue protectors and blacks 1
  4. didnt MLT say something about this?
  5. Was it as ridiculous as when during the BLM stuff the majority of news outlets were showing videos and photos of rioting and reporting hundreds of arrests you denied there had been any incidents whatsoever because it wasn’t in the guardian?
  6. Wasn’t it also inevitable that Van Dijk would get injured as soon as the window shut. I’m sure we’d have won the cup that season if we’d had those two instead of Stephens and yoshida
  7. So did Mayuka.
  8. you couldnt have looked very hard, google Fonte signs new contract and this was the first thing that came up. Oct 2015. Jose Fonte signs new Southampton deal | Football News | Sky Sports below about a dozen other links saying the same thing is the offical club one Fonte signs new deal until 2018 | Southampton FC
  9. He did indeed. I thought we could have got a lot more out of him, as someone else said would probably suit the premier league better now than then.
  10. No it wasn't he signed a 3 year extension the season before in summer 2015. His contract expired in Summer of 2018. The issue at the time was he had signed a new contract then came back from Euro 2016 a year later and supposedly wanted a new one. There were rumours circulating that he had come back from the Euros the big i am but that seemed out of character, it was probably more likely a case of he felt he was in a strong position as European champion and senior centre half and captain at the club to negotiate a longer deal to secure his future, Les thought otherwise.
  11. Fuck me, i want some of what you are on! The geezer that spends his life accusing other people of racism, homophobia, transphobia, rape apologists etc trying to make their position out to be something it's not because they dont align 100% with the way you think. You should take a few weeks off soggy, you've lost it.
  12. i still cant believe we got a player of Alderwierlds quality even though it was only on loan. Full Belgian international at Atheltico Madrid when he came on loan, it just goes to show the draw a decent manager can have. No way would Les and the groovy gang have been able to pull that one off.
  13. i guess if you had to pay for every account you have you'd need a loan wouldnt you. Not easy to come by these days
  14. I always felt he was much better than he showed for us. Classy player but never really delivered consistently.

yeah my mate is an accountant said the same, there will be a threshold i guess as it'll probably cost too much to go into every single company but some really did take the piss. I do a tax return every year and last year despite being PAYE and doing a return every year for about 10 years i got looked into, i initially got a letter saying i was getting a £1500 rebate but then another letter saying they had looked into my previous records and found i have under paid and i owed them £88. Robbing bastards
  16. It hilarious how a "new poster" who has only been on here a matter of months has immediately started following around someone who has been on here for many years, reacting and responding to every post they make

I thought they were pretty clear about it having to be paid back. There were a lot of companies taking the piss with furlough as well. Lots of places put people in furlough straight away as soon as it was announced and kept their employees working.
  18. why is it whenever we spend big money (for us) on a player they are usually absolute shit? It goes back decades so it's just the current lot of nerds.
  19. that wont work.
  20. I don’t agree we had a shite side, Flowers in goal, Kenna at right back and Shearer up front who all went onto win the league with Blackburn three years later ruddock was a great centre half for us. Horne, Cockerill, Moore all solid premier league players and of course MLT. We had the basis of a decent side the problem was we had a terrible manager who hoofed it long ball into Ian Dowie and wanted us to be aggressive, sound familiar… as for the game Forest were a great side in those days so we were always second favourites but like you say when we got it back to 2-2 thought we might have the momentum to win it, typical saints though heroic failure as usual. IIRC they battered us for the first hour, we were lucky only to be 2-0 down, typical Forest at the time let us have the ball and hit fast on the break. Flowers kept us in it. They were a great side to watch, we just lumped balls into the box and hoped for the best. Criminal misuse of Shearer and Le Tissier
  21. Really good player, another one underrated by a lot of fans.
  22. It was great to see Saints actually win something, usually we are plucky losers in games like that. Although it was a great day out i do remember at the time feeling a little bit dissappointed it was such a one sided game with a comfortable win. The fact that there were only about 15,000 Carlise fans there, a win for us was never really in doubt once we scored meant it didnt really feel like a cup final during the game. Carlise had beaten Leeds in the semi final and whilst i was pleased we were playing Carlise as i knew barring a massive upset we'd win, it would have been a much better final had we played Leeds. Better game, better atmosphere and more of an achievement to win it.
  23. wasn't the penalty at the Carlise end?
  24. Reported by sky at £8m according to this, although Im sure I remember it being reported elsewhere as lower, as remember thinking it was a great deal for what was at the time a highly rated player. could be wrong though https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11700/9914329/jordy-clasie-joins-southampton-on-five-year-contract scott Marshall has to get a mention. £500k which was fairly expensive for us at the time, considered a coup, played twice we conceded 7 in those games two of them were own goals by him and he never played for us again.
  25. Not sure about that but i always thought he was a bit unlucky. Got injured on his debut and was out for a while so never really got up to speed in his first season, then Koeman went and it was clear Puel didn't fancy him in his system. I dont think he was as bad as people remember especially considering he was cheap. Juanmi, signed the same summer i think for £5m so only £1m less, never played. Sold.
