Do you want Nathan Jones to Manage Southampton Football Club?
Turkish replied to Rivers's topic in The Saints
actually not, he joined them in March 2002 when they were in a relegation battle. The previous summer Lowe had interviewed Moyes for the job at Saints that Stuart Gray had been caretaking since Hoddles departure, Moyes turned us down as Lowe wanted him to keep Gray and others on as back room staff. -

The only postive i could see is that we might get god on our side, but then remembered we've had him/her/they since 1885 and that hasn't gone too well so far. -
Just listened to the Jake Humphries podcast with Eddie Howe. Comes across brilliantly, such a shame we never got him, would have been perfect for us. Think he's above our level now whatever happens in the future at Newcastle.

Yeah like I said, overweight and scruffy and joke fights with the players.
-
Remember how much grief Puel used to get for this diamond formation….
-
Really? First time I’ve heard that one and I had quite a few connections at the club at the time. Either way I know the players used to openly take the piss out of him and he had zero respect.
-
Results wise sturrock wasn’t a disaster but it Kind of emphasises the point others have made about having the respect of the dressing room. He didn’t have it, he was considered a bit of a joke figure mainly because he was scruffy and overweight. So to those who say why wouldn’t Jones have the respect of the dressing room, it’s not guaranteed Sturrock didn’t and he had a good playing career.

Dont we already have a loan to that tune? Maybe it's just a refinancing of that given the other loan was on some sort of crazy high interest level. Although with rates going up a lot since then maybe not? Who knows.

Nathan Jones announced to the media.

Hey pal, we've got the song for Nathan nailed already, it's the old Bananarama classic Nathan Jones. I've penned a classic for Rasmus though, to the tune of Hans Christen Andersen... I'm Rasmus Ankersen I've many a tell to tell And though im a data geek i tell them rather well, I'll give you stats and every XG, when i have a moment free im Rasmus Ankersen Ankesen that me.

It's a bit different managing a department at a local council than it is managing a group of young, egotistical, proffesional sportsmen playing at and elite level to be fair.
-
Im really looking forward to seeing MLGs view on Nathan Jones.
-
Agreed. There has been some quite unpleasant stuff said today which is totally unnecessary. Someone with an agenda must be feeding them this. Completely uncalled for and in bad taste.
-
I’ve supported saints for 139 years had a season ticket since antelope ground and honestly I can never remember it being this bad. The days of back to back southern league titles seem a decent memory, oh how I wish we could show the ambition that we did with Ernest Arnfield in 1897, no way will we we be winning 5 titles and 2 fa cup final appearances under Nathan Frigging Jones
-
It was summed up very well by someone on Facebook today. They were a team in his imagine. When he was up so were they, passionate and full of energy, when he was down so were they, dour, almost depressing, lacking any spark.
-
A fair assessment, he's going to want the job it's a good opportunity for him, i really cant for the life of me see why we'd want him though.
-
Ankersen knows what he's doing, he's done a ted talk and everything.
-
Is that Luton Dave?
-
Remember when we go down under Nathan jones it wont be his squad so completely absolved of any blame whatsoever.
-
From the fact that Luton have tweeted they've given us permission to speak to him.
-
Welcome to the world of hipster football pal
-
6 wins in 38 games at Stoke 🤣🤣 they’re winding us up surely?
-
Nathan Jones, a young inexperienced manager managing a young inexperienced team. What could possibly go wrong?
-
Thats the rumour....
-
Lots of speculation around this, even the very credible Fabrizo Romano is saying he is our leading candidate, so looks like there are legs in this.
