It’s a shame about Aribo. When he joined I was quite excited. He was highly rated had been good at Rangers and started off pretty well but never really did much with us. Always thought he was better than given credit for but probably best for everyone he leaves and probably should have gone 18 months ago

Spot on i still think 4-2-3-1 with Jander/Downes/Charles and now Romeu as the two CMs is our best system but we seem wedded to 3 CBs so I guess that’s what it’ll be as a front 4 you’d struggle to get better than those 3 and Armstrong in this league. Matt Oakley, a very good, underrated player that we didn’t realise how good he was until injured. Key player in Strachans team. Another one they just did his job without an fuss and kept us ticking over I’m also going to say Kevin Davies, great first season. Then misused by us second time round played right wing iirc and was very much third or even forth choice striker behind Beattie, Pahars and then Ormerod. However went on to do very well at Bolton for many years

I watched him closely at Hull away as a mate of mine is a Boro fan and liked him although did say he can go missing. I thought despite the absolute abject team performance he was the only one trying to make things happen, whilst the rest just lumped it forward to Downs. He’s that sort of player who is technically very good but because he isnt rapid and obvious like Scienza fans will be quick to write off. Clearly a good player.

Luckily Tonde is a world class manager who was always our first choice and someone I said back in 2022 was going to be a top manager one day. Given there was not a single other manager in the world that could do the job it just highlights how great Sports Republic are that the best man for the job was already employed by us.
