  1. Spot on. If eradicating all abuse of any type is the end goal then it's going to fail from the start. Nothing will ever be enough and there will always be more work to be done, whatever that work is.
  2. Well if that is your goal i'm sorry but you're going to be forever disappointed. in crowds of 30000 plus there will always be a handful of people who say or do things you dont like. It's not a question of shrugging your shoulders, its simply accepting reality. It doesn't make it right but it happens and if your ultimate goal is to rid of all abuse forever then you are going to fail. I'm interested to know what more work you feel needs to be done and what this is. I've known many gay people go to St Marys over the years, including my sister and the guy i mentioned earlier, she's never told me she's felt uncomfortable or threatened at football. Just because we didn't have a specific LGBT fans group it doesn't mean we were behind the curve and with all due respect you've only been going for a few weeks so cant really know what the climate is like.
  3. I dont believe Saints are behind the curve at all. 20 odd years ago a very prominent Saints fan came out as gay when he was on a TV program. He is a top bloke as big a saints fan as you can get and although before that it wasn't common knowledge he was gay when he came out no one cared. I couldn't tell you if he got any abuse or not, im not aware of any and it was before the days of twitter and facebook so it wouldnt have been online but what i do remember it was very much more of "didnt know that oh well" and then everyone got on with their lives and didn't treat him any differently. The current climate seems to be that we need these various fan groups to raise awareness and push that St Marys is not homophobic, when in reality you can do as many surveys and create as many fans groups as you like, i dont think the vast majority of people care about who you are attracted too. If it scares you (and this isn't aimed at you) that someone 30 yards away shouts abuse at someone else a hundred yards away then i would suggest that maybe you're a little too sensitive, it happens, people sometimes say nasty things. If you expect to grow through life expecting it all to be 70 degrees and sunny with rainbows and dancing everyone telling each other how wonderful they are then you're going to be in for a disappointment.

"No need to panic" Didn't see this coming at all 🙄 AstraZeneca breakthrough as Oxford Uni say 'no evidence' Omicron can escape vaccine (msn.com)
  5. Who is going to join them though if as looks likely come first of January they are bottom with at best one win from 19 games?
  6. I guess his only saving grace is he didn’t actually do it. Picking him for any game now is insane
  7. They’ve got Burnley at home on Saturday. Massive game, only 1 or 2 points from home games against the teams directly above you is abysmal After that they play Leicester and Liverpool away, Man City and man United home. Can’t see them getting much from them. Don’t win Saturday they probably won’t win this year
  8. Is this a wind up?
  9. Unless It’s a saints player and it goes straight at the keeper
  10. As the club is run by people like him then I expect everyone in the statto area will bow to his superiority
  11. That 20th goal was hilarious, the defender went to head it and looked like she was scared too and backed away, the ball dropped to the England player who smashed it in.
  12. And it’s 20 👏👏👏👏👏
  13. Knighthood for Ellen white 19-0 Terrible goalkeeping looked like she pulled her arms away 🤣🤣

  15. Away fans could please them by chanting “tell us your pronouns tra la la la la”
  16. Flicking between them mate, ladies 13-0 up now, what a time to be a champion for inclusivity in English football
  17. Newcastle down to 10 men already
  18. They could sing a song to identify themselves. “We’re the stattos we’re the stattos we’re the stattos over here” “we’re the LGBT we’re the LGBT we’re the LGBT over here” “we’re the vegans” etc etc
  19. Mine is working absolutely fine.

    Coronavirus

I think I’m with you on this. Vaccine take up drops, a new very dangerous worst one ever version appears just before end of the November with the message get vaccinated now to save your christmas. Not saying there isn’t a new Variant but as others have said there always will be variants. They’ve moved very very quickly to open up new test centres and ramp up the roll out of boosters considering we’ve only known about African version for a few days….
  21. That was really weird. Sturrock sacked after 3 games of the season then Wigley interviewed where he was asked who was in charge now and he basically announced himself as the new head coach. Felt a bit sorry for him as he blatantly wasn’t ever right for the manager job, but at least he beat Pompey
  22. it seemed that your anti Hassenhuttl stance started when it became apparent a certain former striker would not get much of a run in the team. I get it, i'm sure most of us would be the same in that situation and FWIW i think he should have been given a chance. Anyway that aside, all the managers i listed were guilty of strange tactics, formations, signings and subs all far more frustrating that Hassenhuttl. I definitely think Ralph gets an easy ride from a lot of fans, especially given the grief someone like Puel got who achieved more.

Yet they are pushing the vaccine boosters which they dont know are effective against Omicron yet. Bozo is telling everyone to get vaccinated now.

Has there been such a quick response to a new variant since this all started? With every variant so far they've always taken time to see the impact, now within days of news breaking masks imposed, travel restricted and changes to the vaccine roll out even though they've only seen a few cases worldwide. Do they know something they aren't telling us or is there another reason why they has been such an unusual response.....
  25. Tactically Puel was very good, two wins over Liverpool, IIRC we didn't concede against them in 4 games that season, won at Arsenal when they were better as well. I dont agree he was too defensive, there were some great performances under him too, we scored 4 away in back to back matches at Watford and Sunderland, i remember we beat Burnley 3-1 at St Marys and we had something like 35 attempts at goal. We weren't defensive in Milan, it was crap finishing that cost us that night, we also weren't defensive at Wembley when we were so unlucky against Man United, he adapted his tactics to suit, he knew if we went toe to toe with the likes of Liverpool there would only be one result. The trouble is people remember Puel for three things. Not qualifying from the group stages in Europe, yes that wasn't great, but people ignore the fact that under Koeman we didn't even make the group and we were absolutely bloody awful away in Denmark worse than anything we saw under Puel. They only seem to remember the last half a dozen home games, yes that was dull but also it's forgotten than he had in Yoshida and an inexperienced Stephens probably the worst centre back pairing the league, with Fonte sold and Van Dijk injured so he had to set up to give them protection otherwise we'd have got a few hammerings. Finally people moaned about him from the start because he wasn't a big name and not what they expected, people moaned about how boring his interviews were from the start of the season. All the good stuff he did is swept under the carpet. Another thing people ignore is that he had a lot more fixtures to contend with than any manager before or since, 6 European matches plus a cup final run and a squad that had lost 5 of it's best players from the previous year for at least half the season 3 for the full season. I like Ralph but tactically Puel was better, very good at being able to set up depending on the opposition and team available to him.
